BTW

Ufotable will be dead after they have milked the fate franchise for all it's worth in a few years :) unless they animate TORIKO again

What else. It doesn't matter that the adaptation was perfect up until it gone anime original, and of course since manga is alwayyys 100% better, any deviation from the source equals total garbage, it doesn't even matter than the anime original bits were of the same retarded quality as the rest of the show. Oh well.

The way they managed to adapt Steins;Gate and simply making Katanagatari makes them very close to being one of the best studios.

Well, to be honest, White Fox actually skip some scenes of the manga and adapted others differently before going to anime original. But I like some of the scenes they handle, I mean, the episodes 6 and 17 of Akame ga Kill! were very good in my opinion.

Five people voted for Studio Deen. Five people are wrong.

I voted for Shaft, but I also like a lot of JC Staff's works. When they do something well, they do it really well. Shaft's done a lot of series I liked, and I appreciate the different approach they have (or had, I guess) with their animation. The little background jokes inserted in SZS are on a completely different level than anything else.

I'm not referring to that terrible chapter 23.5 (if you referred to the chapter when the three girls are beaten, tortured and raped by a dog for the sake of being edgy), but to scenes that happens in the manga like a training of Bulat and Tatsumi (thing that make their bond stronger) or various scenes of the Jaegers. Some of them were more fleshed out thanks to this scenes. And the Jaegers battle with the bandits in the manga (beggining of episode 10 in the anime) was much more badass in the manga.

By example, Dr. Stylish (the gay mad scientist), was a better character in the manga. We know why he attacks Night Raid HQ and is the only Jaegers that didn't kiss Esdeath's ass and actually didn't like her, viewing her love for Tatsumi as a weakness, thing that gives him more personality. Also he has bigger impact in the story, as his investigations are key roles to some plots of newer arcs. In the anime was an average mad scientist that was only fodderized by NR.

I don't think of White Fox as a bad studio, Pierrot is worse, but I see why AKG diehard fanboys were upset when the anime go to original route.

Really don't care much about this poll results but most people don't realize how consistent A-1 is. IDK I'm probably just a fanboy.

Don't worry - you are being.
They make their fair share of crap and tend to make a lot of otaku pandering stuff - Saekano is a perfect example.

That's not to say they can't make good things too - great sometimes (Working) but they rarely make anything which could be considered amazing? Maybe it's just a perception thing because their art style tends to be kind of generic and they make a lot of stuff. The more you make the harder it is for the great things to be what you become known for...

They just don't stand out that much if you compare them to studio's like SHAFT/KyoAni/Gainax - funnily enough I would say madhouse has the same problem but for whatever reason they are considered good and A1 average...but that's public opinion for you.

Ufotable and shaft are both higher on my MAL graph but I'm going to say Bones. I've seen a large variety of Bones stuff which is why it isn't as high but they are a really great studio. They have been putting good consistently good content this year and last year they made space dandy which has fucking amazing animation. They also made lots of good shows in the 2000s, you know including the amazing fullmetal alchemist and wolf's rain. Sure they have their low points like darker than black and shambala but that was more to do with the story than the actual animation.
That said the two shaft shows I have seen so far (monogatari and zetsubou) are both visual masterpieces for me and they have an amazing colour pallet.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

Definitely Madhouse. They handle everything well, and really only disappointed me twice with adaptations -- once with Overlord, and once with Death Note. That's all.
Other than them, there's Shaft which are unique and seem to be well-received, BONES which make great action shows and are just a pretty good studio in general, and Production I.G. who I've only recently started really looking into the shows of and like very much so far.

Ufotable aren't a bad studio. It's just Miura who fucked shit up. I honestly think they do deserve a lot of votes, though not more than the other three I mentioned above.

Toei just because their anime are normally good. I don't care how zany their animation is. Pierrot has too much filler, BONES is all sprinkles and no ice cream and Madhouse is just plain overrated. AIC is pretty good though.

Cause FMA (both versions...)
Not much other than that, though.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

The 2-year-old Madhouse circlejerk is strong.

While they used to be good, they've definitely slipped. I'm going with Bones who always delivers consistent, high-quality art and animation. Production IG is also pretty great imo.

Ufotable and Kyoani only make one show a year so I prefer those who deliver more than one high quality anime every year.
