After reading alot of these post, they do make sense in that what was the reason for knowing saki and her backround like that lol. However, this anime kept me watching unlike the past few that ive chosen that was recommended like this one. Especially with starting out with him naked at the white house lol

I hated the song in the end. They could have used some kind of Metal Gear like song to make it more epic!

I'm sure they will answer the questions in the movie, but there is still something I didn't understand completely.

When they said Akira was betrayed by everybody, how was he betrayed?

Can someone pls reply and explain this to me...

>>How many Dragonball Z characters does it take to change a lightbulb??
Ive got no idea, but it'd take at least 20 episodes!

The sequels should clear some thoughts up!!
EDIT: Now that I've Re-watched the last three minutes of this show i concluded he brainwashed himself again. The first time he did it he was naked in front of the whitehouse. This time he decided to make himself king but got prince instead. To add on, he brainwashed himself for a reason so the next time he get a hold of that phone he'll discover what he did and well, move on to the next great step to heal his country...

peix said:

Okay.
He's a prince!! The first episode we have Saki talking about Akira while flipping through her phone looking at pictures. She says something about a prince and that ties in well with what she said in this episode. So the first episode was really talking about this episode...

If he can say "use the rest of the money to make me king" than why couldn't the other selecao have said something equally ridiculous at the beginning of the game?

For example, "save Japan" :P

Amazing series, the end really didn't disappoint from Akira blowing up the missles ( well sorta XD) to the end which i thought was fitting, i gotta say though they really make me want to watch the movies now and see why Akira erased his memories again (or did i miss something?) i mean i can see why he gave the phone to Saki if his memories were indeed erased but why become king and then erase your memories? ah well awesome end to an awesome show, i can't wait to see the movies :) 9/10.

Did he wipe his memory again? I didn't saw that? Guess I missed something (again). I've just finished re-watching it for the second time but it's even better then I could remember. I really really like this anime and it's too bad it's only 11 episodes. It should at least have been 13 and 2 movies :(

Takizawa was really cool, he's my hero! I didn't got all the stuff with the NEEDs, they were originally people he "collected"on the net for advice and they started to doubt him/betray him? Well all I can say is that if there is 1 winner in that sick game it's Takizawa :D

My thoughts on what happed.

1) Taxi driver is Mr. Outsider or another member with a phone. I'm leaning more towards him being Mr. Outsider. The reason I think this is, as someone pointed out above, they spent to much time focused on him and his grin at the end. There's also the fact that his lower jaw resembles the guy we saw in the shadows before.

He's waiting outside so who knows what's going to happen in the movie. Will he reveal himself right off or not ;).

2) As I mentioned in the last episode, Takizawa could spend all his money without being killed as long as Juiz felt he saved the nation.

Now a few things are gonna happen. Since Takizawa requested something that cant happen instantly, Juiz cant kill him until his prince/king request is fulfilled. She basically has to slice up his big request into millions of little requests that will result in him becoming a prince. I'm guessing that's why the first movie is titles "The King has Come". From her comment "may you be a splendid prince by the time we meet" it's clear they will meet be it as friends or enemy's.
Second she has to determine if his past actions deem him the savior of the country. Which he is, but as member 1 said, this country is far from being saved. So we can assume he didn't win yet.

3) His last request is related to Saki. Right before the static on the phone he says "Damn this merry go round doesn't have a golden ring". Could mean he wanted to have juiz list them as a married couple in Japan (gold rings symbolize marriage). This way when he is King she will continue to be by his side and support him. It's a long stretch but I figured I'd mention it.

4) Theres a problem with everyone's assumption that Takizawa got his memories erased. The problem is there's 5 people (including Saki) that know everything he's done. Not to mention 20K NEETS. There's no stopping them from filling him in on all the details. So I'm having trouble trying to figure out why he would request a memory wipe. If it really was a memory wipe I can only guess he did it as a fresh start to keep himself pure and uninfluenced by everything that's happed. It makes sense but at the same time it seems kind of...cheap.

^This. the explanation is just awesome

Just wanted to point out that at the before the opening of the first episode Saki said:
"He had no choice but to become a prince. At least since he realized that without a sacrifice called a "prince", the tomorrow we hoped for would never come. Thus reluctantly, he became one. In this world with no princes. Speaking of which, just how did he become a prince? I still haven't figured out that mystery.|

At first I thought that she was talking about her prince that left her or something before the time of the anime, but this was actually the conclusion of the last episode.

yep, also she already had the pic with akira in the cell, so that scene wasa major forshadow

Taihaku said:
On older carousels, you could grab the brass ring to win a free ride. Now in this politically-correct, sue-happy age, the brass rings are mostly gone. Additionally, the brass rings (or wood or plastic later on) would find their way into trash heaps, be flung to break windows, etc., so insurance became a factor in their demise even before political-correctness took hold.

These brass rings were commonly called "Golden Rings". This could very well be the trigger for the memory wipes. A free ride relates to Takizawa starting over and having another chance ergo the mind wipe.

Edit: Upon further analysis Takizawa might have been referring to life as being a carousel and how you don't get free rides or passes as in "Golden Rings" meaning that no matter what you do, you can't change the past through mind wipes or anything because the past will always come back.

Also the lead horse in a carousel is called the "king" horse if that has any merit

wow, that was an amazing explanation for it

also for those asking why he or no one didnt ask to become prince/king/queen in the 1st place. well did anyone bother to try. the objective was to change japan in any way u can. maybe no one bother to try it, since ppl becoming PM hasnt done anything to japan, maybe becoming the king AND having his memory wiped will do somthing. that might have been his plan.

The angy naked NEETs made this episode even better than what it already was!
Glad that Panties isn't dead. Hopefully we'll be seeing him again in the movies.
Just how was Saki able to get so much information on Takizawa and what he did to save everyone from Careless Monday? Last I saw, her phone was dead.

personally i really dont want to believe he erased his memory because that makes me want to cry. he has saki whos loyal and their so cute together and if he erased his memory he'll forget who she is and not love her any more. what im hoping even though its a stretch and most probably not true is that somehow he actually got his memories back! now that would be awesome..i mean even though he pretty much put everything together before its still so much better then erasing his memory! i dont get why he put the phone in her pocket but really i dont care! i just want them to be together and to never leave eachothers side! i mean that could happen like what we saw was really him retrieving his memories. if he did erase them he better get them back right away! so him and saki can have fun and go on adventures together and always be their for one another because she stayed with him even in the beginning when all the crazy stuff was happening yah she questioned it but she never ran away and at the end was she was still by his side which is what really matters :)

Ok, the scene where they were running through the crowd of NEETs was hilarious. Micchon is probably scarred for life.

And Panties LIIIIIIIVED. Yes!

And like I was expecting, there was no way they would have been able to come to a real conclusion with just 11 episodes. It's a great setup for the movies though, will definitely be watching those soon.

And looks like Saki got her prince in the end. So cute. 9/10

THAT WAS AMAZING!

I really enjoyed this series throughout its entire run, really entertaining, charming, thrilling and with a great conspiracy plot.

And this episode was nothing short of spectacular. So many references and cool scenes; the 20000 naked NEETs raid the Mall and the club members try to blend in the only way possible; Pantsu is alive; Akira saves the day and gets the girl. And in the end, the anime finishes with a very good note leaving room for more!

I can't wait to see the movies.

Why do NEETs know how to block a missile attack? And why couldn't Akira just ask Juiz to "stop the missiles". Given how it creates complex solutions to simple requests, it surely would have been able to figure out "shoot them down with planes".

I don't buy the "Akira was betrayed by the people he wanted to protect the most" thing. When something crazy happens like missiles suddenly falling on cites happens and some people clearly knew it was gong to happen beforehand asking those people "How did you know this?" is completely sane. And did Akira and the NEETs have any response? Why didn't they tell the truth? "Some asshole with a magical phone tried to bomb you."

When someone you don't know does inexplicable things they fail to explain, it does not encourage trust.

Wow, just wow. THAT is how you pull off a finale; with a bang.
The series as a whole was rushed though, especially how the mystery did not start until episode 3 and the romance stopped progressing after episode 2. Still, a enjoyable watch, overall.

Pantsu Lives!!!!!!!!!!

and yeah, it's pretty cool to stop the attack, just direct the same attack at different angles :D

awesome stuff!!!!!

wooo Saki went to Takizawa instead of that douchebag Osugi :D

and wow did he really just brainwashed himself once again O______O

we still haven't seen the other Selaco liker number 3,5,6,7,8,10,12,

overall i think they should have extend the season a bit more(up to 26)

i feel that they pulled a Canaan on us, so much information that can be explored if it had more episodes

oh well at least we have the movies to quench our thirst :)

and wow it's a good thing Saki didn't get hurt at the end.

even though it was short, but sweet. i love the animation as well as the music and themes that were presented here.

just shows you that japan has a very big problem in terms of society hierarchy and level etc.

i guess he was the "Prince" that became the "King"

and Saki is the "Princess" ^^

overall i enjoyed the hell out of it despite being short. :P

9/10 ^^

and the naked thing was funny!

also, mittan is so cute! :)

i also smiled like an a$$hole when i saw that Pants was okay.. and the "johnny hunter" said "when will you save me no.9?"

ALSO! THE SOUNDTRACK! Wow! It just gave me chills and it was perfect for the scene!

now im looking forward to the 2 movies. i'll watch it tonight, screw school!

About Juiz, from what could be ascertained from earlier in the episode, Juiz was being mostly shipped away to a hidden location thanks to no. 12 and therefore could not create complex solutions to simple problems, thus the NEETS come into play.

About the betrayal in which you speak of, you asked how it worked and then answered it through your own explanation of why he wouldn't be trusted, because of that non-trust, and them starting to attack everyone, he became a "terrorist" so all the NEETS could then be pissed off at one guy, Takizawa, and not everyone and everything.

i'm a bit unsure about the ending and how to rate this show. it was enjoyable (i watched it all in one sitting which speaks for itself), but it still feels a bit confusing and some things were apparently left out.

- saki's brother-in-law aka the person she loves wasn't mentioned again and i actually thought it was kind of important or it would have a little impact on her relationship with akira.
- and that's the second point - the anime started with some romance, but then it felt like it got lost. i actually expected them to kiss again or something. sure, some people could say it's obvious that they liked each other, but i don't think it's enough to actually use the category "romance" for this anime.
- my second question is why akira was in washington in the first place. and why did he have a gun? did they ever explain that?
- and now to the whole "did he delete his memories or not" thing: i am not sure about it. there are a lot of good theories here. but the thing i cling to is the fact that a) he said to juiz that he wants to be the same as he's now and b) WHY would he do that? it doesn't make sense to me. especially because he's a prince now. it just doesn't make sense to me.

arrgh. it's making me angry that i don't find an answer that satisfies me.

well, i'll watch the movies during the next days and hopefully it'll explain a bit more.

Oh wow I didn't make the connection that Akira erased his memories again =_= I'm so bad at paying attention. Then again...if he did erase his memories, why would he suddenly put the phone in Saki's pocket? :/
Man, I think we all got trolled when we through Pantsu died. Well, I'm just glad he's still alive.

Although only 11 episodes, I highly enjoyed this series. Every episode just kept getting better, and it was highly unpredictable for me. I would give in a 10/10 if not for the ending. The anime by itself without the movies is 9/10 for me. Well, I'm not sure how the movies will be, but people said they were really good in their review so...I guess it's time to watch them!

I still don't understand why he has to brainwash himself.. well.. and Pants alive.. that really was deus ex machina. And his wish at the end - that was really weird, does he really believes he can change country as king?

But other than that - it was good series and I am looking forward to both movies. Last ep was good one but those explanations were so so but overall:

I feel similarly, although I personally believe it's mostly due to the series (and I could be wrong). I feel like they saved a lot of explaining for the last episode.
So, I will be giving this series a 7/10, which, despite what I said, it still good.

An awesome last episode. They way he "shot down" the missiles was cool just like in the ED. And Pantsu lives :D
I really wonder why he had to wipe his memory again :/ Especially now that he wanted to become a 'king'.

I suspected that it won't get any closure at all, but continue in the movies. So it's kind of harder to rate it alone.
I really liked the beginning (the first 2-3 episodes were my favorite) because of the chemistry and romance between Akira and Saki. They were cute :) I'm sad they didn't go further yet and didn't really build on it. I hope there will be more in the movies.
The setting itself, just like the romance was pretty good, but it was also under-developed. Same with the whole Eden system.
It's like the show started so many different things, but didn't build upon them enough (for now at least).
OST was okay, the OP is really good and I will probably listen to it, and the ED was meh.

For now the show gets a 7/10 from me, might change later to an 8.
I hope the movie will explain a lot more and actually close the story.
