Definitely feels at the end. I actually like how that arc played out over 3 episodes. It seemed like it could've been slow at times, but i feel like it's all worth it when it hits you that Araragi was the cursed one.

At this point, the best episodes seem to be the last episodes of any given arc, and even those are pretty damn boring.

Man those dialogs are soooooo slooooow and flashy, it's so annoying
Anyway, Koyomi x Mayoi battle is awesome, you should at least say something after touching a girl's delicate chest!!! Gives her money. Thanks. XDDD
second part is very good, I was even shocked, poor girl :'( so all this time he fought with and touched ghosts breasts, just think about it....
Hitagi's confession sounded like shit, honestly. Without any feelings, not knowing his feelings just like robot or repaying a favor. Mayoi summarized it very good, congratulations -_- XD
Mayoi was the best in this arc <3

I agree with this, based on these first 5 episodes. I've been getting bored, but I found this episode to be quite good! The lost snail reveal and Hitagi's opening up both had my full attention, no doubt about it! :P

So is Mayoi going to be a regular character still? That would be fun!

It would be great if every episode could grab my attention this way. ✿ 5/5

If I said, "I love you", could we talk more? ep 5.

Plot: The truth of Hachikuji Mayoi comes to light and a new relationship blossoms for Senjougahara and Araragi.

Character: Senjougahara finally confesses and learns some things about Araragi in the process. She still has a strange way of thinking (kinda like Araragi. Must be an Oddity thing) but she manages to communicate her new love for the guy.

Koyomi sticks with his need to help others. It's not a matter of who it is but just that they need help. Seems like Chronic Hero Syndrome but you can't help but support him.

Mayoi is a tearjerker of a snail girl. A child that didn't want to lose her mother but couldn't go home again. And when others try to help, she must keep them away or else misfortune will befall them.

Animation/Sound: I think one of the bgm was the one used for the Exorcist. Kinda played up the creepy angle.

Extra: Communication seems like a big theme for the Mayoi arc. Hitagi's at first inability to say the truth of her feelings. Araragi's issue with his sister and how to verbalize it. Mayoi's need to not communicate in order to keep people safe. And finally Mayoi's parents who argued and argued until they split which started and unfortunately ended things for the Snail girl.

5/5. The arc kinda got boring in the middle but came back with a bit bittersweet/happy resolution.

I go where I wanna go, even if its into Oppai.

That was very fast... I can't believe Senjougahara would just confess that fast. I mean she literally hated him or whatsover and then she confessed? I will never understand that girl from the beginning she had staples as weapon...

It was genious of the anime to make Mayoi actually the ghost who haunts Koyomi. I didn't really expect that, though I should've thought about her bag looking like a snail home. But they did it too long and it got some people too bored.

I was going to say that I was bored to death the entire episode and that it felt like a chore to watch, as well as all of the dialogue going in one ear and out the other, with the simplistic and dull colors with limited animation feeling incredibly cheap, but then the end happened.
Ararararararagi and Senjougahara (damn their names are hard to spell) seem to have a really cute relationship so far. That's the only reason that I'm somewhat looking forward to watching more, but still, not very much.

All in all, though... I'm really not seeing the appeal so far. I also fail to see what's so brilliant about the show. Hopefully it'll get better...
I'm becoming disconnected from anime, it seems...

End of story snail. heavy dialogues while dynamic, for a simple story, but also increases the overall plot.

------

Fin de la historia del caracol. Diálogos muy pesados a la vez que dinámicos, para una historia sencilla, aunque aumenta la trama general.

The dialogue and character interactions are turning out to be a delight to watch and listen to. Overall, quite an entertaining episode, I didn't expect a happy ending which was surprising, I thought Araragi had to abandon the poor girl.

I keep noticing the focussing on araragi's eyes, it's either the left or right eye (miraculously not covered by his fringe). And sometimes his eyes become beastly or vampiric. This is also observable in other notable anime but that's another story.. I think it's quite interesting how the viewer gets ultimate access to the face that the characters put up around friends and strangers and their true face when they slip up. It's also interesting that other characters learn and bounce off on these slip ups and common pleasantries alongside the viewer.

I'm kinda waiting for the show to 'slip up' as I've long forgotten each particular instance for each eye.

I am also getting quite sick of the rapid text and nonsensically abstract fast dialogue info dumps at the beginning, end and spread throughout the episodes. I mean either, the viewer is simply unable to take in the information or it's pure gibberish. Or worse, there's truth mixed in with the gibberish. Questionably entertaining surely must have crossed their minds during their meetings. "Do we really need to do this?" Does it come off as pretentious? I personally think so. E.g. Lain threw in a few lines and symbolisms and let the viewer work it out. FLCL also had a short burst of quick paced chit chat at the end, but having only rewatched once, I immediately understood it... Bakemonogatari is INSANE! It's off the rails conversations that jumps through several conversations that require retaining and understand the previous conversation to follow up on the next one.

Another gripe, unfortunately I'm missing out on all the amazing word puns. Dang.

I got pretty sad for Hachikuji when it was revealed that she's a ghost, but I couldn't help but laugh at this scene. I'm really glad that she'll be sticking around 😊

I was wondering how they were planning to tie in the fight with his little sister with just half an episode left, and then they did it in a matter of seconds. That was really cool.

Lastly, the dialogue between Araragi and Senjōgahara at the end was wonderful. I can tell why anime fans love her so much :)

It's a reference to something Senjougahara said in conversation earlier in the arc. Something about how the word fascination is becoming the new way of expressing attraction. I think it was to show that he also finds conversation with her fun.

Short answer: yes.

Another note from the arc, I was into how following Hachikuji led Arararararagi astray morally. He starts off well intentioned, earnestly trying to help a lost girl. But over time he beats her up. then again. then again, with some sexual harassment thrown in for good measure. His internal monologue after every instance of this is especially poignant. He speaks of it in third person, then eventually accepts that he was the one who actually did it. But when he gropes her, he doesn't want to accept it.
It really did lead him astray, in more ways than one.

I really do like Hachikuji, but I don't know if keeping her around was the best decision. Is she just going to be there to be cute? felt like her character arc was completed. Oh well, It could probably pan out.

I'd say this arc has really sold me on this series

Interesting that it was actually Araragi who was the victim of an apparition this time- I was pretty much spoiled on Hachikuji being a ghost, but it was a great twist nonetheless.

It's nice to see that she hasn't entirely disappeared just yet either. Arc was good, but I still think Hitagi Crab was much better...probably because of Senjougahara.
She's pretty captivating so it's gonna be difficult for any of the other girls Araragi helps to beat her out.

Also, did this series just break the Harem rule?
Did the ship just sail this early into the series? *o*

Seems like Hachikuji did her job exceedingly well. Araragi really was led astray...in more ways than one, amirite? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This show is really making me love dialogue-heavy anime. Ugh. Or this show's just so gooood that's why I'm enjoying this dialogue-heavy anime? Ugh. Naaaah, this show made me love dialogue-heavy anime. In love with this show so much. Why did I put this On Hold for months? Goddamnit, me!

That reveal, though. Mayoi is a lost snail and only Araragi can see her including Hanekawa or anyone who have household problems.

Haha. Mayoi being a 'rabid' and wanting to bite Ararararagi. I love it when she does that "Arararararararagi". Pfffft.

Hitagi just dropped that "I LOVE YOU" outta nowhere, I can't process it. Holy shit. Did she really love him? Goddamn. I ship these two, alright, so don't fool with me. Waaaah.

Mayoi's "Omedetou gozaimasu", though. Pffft. Hahahahahahah!

Just when I thought it hurts seeing Mayoi go, though I know she's happier now and saying rest in peace, Mayoi. We still get to see more of her because she's a wandering spirit now. Awww. :3

This episode, maaan. It's so good.

This show doesn't make sense. At one point there is all kinds of feelings and stuff, at another point, it just goes in the opposite direction.

Looks like the other episodes will have Araragi saving a girl, the girl crying, then girl will be saved. That relationship development was just not that great as I thought. It looks like there is absolutely no chemistry between those two. Am I hyped? No.

By the time the twist came and went, it wasn't that much impacting at all.Maybe it is better to put this on hold after all.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

Damn son, I didn't see that twist coming. Although I felt I should've since it is a supernatural series after all. it was bound to be some ghosts in it. Great episode! Best episode so far! Glad I stuck with the series after the slow start. I take back all the bad things I said about this show in episode 4 discussion.

It seems the show going to be about Koyomi going around saving girls from there problems. I'm looking forward to future episodes.

* Well, that was twist, not expecting that direction, knew something was off...but damn
* Bit of an amazing tone shift this episode similar to kinda what happened in the end of Hitagi crab, two parts
* Part 1 - so the playful banter continues after the comment by Mayoi that he tastes good, araragi makes a crude comment , about her breasts when he accidentally felt her up, gotta love him for his tasteless joke , then a weird fight / dance ensues. Loved the background music though during that sequence.
* Part 2 - so far this part is the favorite part, of the show. I need to break it up into points.
* Senjogohara returns from oshino with a troubling look and words. The stress i felt from the scene was the most I felt from the show. Felt scared about what was gonna happen and what direction the show was gonna head in. Also never fails to speak interesting dialogue about truth and perception.
* Reveals that she was never able to see the kid and that araragi was the only one that could see her, makes me reflect on her actions in the previous two episodes in a completely different light. And the reason she states why she acted that way was interesting and reasonable.
* We start to get a clear picture of het backstory, she is not human, she was a spirit , her parents were divorced as stated in the previous and she was looking for the way to her mother's house the new information was that she was killed and turned into the snail spirit. With that we get more insight into her character and how she felt about her parents, gives details regarding her struggle, and why she acted the way she did in the beginning of the arc, made her more interesting than i expected.
* She appears to people who have a reluctance to return home which fits araragi and because of that those people can't return home either. Nevertheless he still wants to help her.
* An act that wins over senjogohara affection for him even more.
* Senjogohara leads through an alternative method that i didn't fully catch as I missed some lines, but couldn't pause or rewind too caught up in the moment.
* So in the climax of this arc, Mayoi found her way home and senjogohara confesses to araragi and they become a couple, more early than i expected but I did expect them to get together by this season.
* All in all, this arc used a twist that i was familiar with but was more emotional than it's other variation that I've seen and was still able to catch me off guard.
* And the episode was a sequence of emotions and gave an satisfying and emotional climax to Mayoi, senjogohara and araragi character arc that was set up in the beginning, Mayoi found her way home, senjogohara became araragi girlfriend and araragi returned home as well, I know I might be saying this alot but best episode of the series yet.
* Also glad to see Mayoi was promoted to a wondering spirit and didn't disappear, look forward to seeing more of her character.

This was a great ep. I had a feeling that Senjougahara couldn't see Mayoi-chan. What was rather unexpected is that Mayoi-chan was the snail and that it was Araragi who was lost. I am glad Mayoi found her home. Looks like Tsunade-san was her mother after all. I were thinking she was an acquaint to her mother, but this was better than my hypothesis. It's good to still see Mayoi-chan and that she hasn't disappeared for good.

Looks like the anime world and it's fan is a fond of good protagonist and that the mc is a helpful type. It's always these anime that are on the top on every list where ever you go. LOL! Something Senjougahara is a fond of too. I loved the moment where she said "I love you". That was really unexpected and so genuinely said. Right from her kokoro. The same with her genuinely/beautiful smile.

Great ep. I loved this arc. This anime is great and only gets better. No wonder I gave it such high rating the first time I watched it. Next time it's athlete-chan. Gonna be good.
