| Expectations were low since this was a return for a series that already was complete and were adapting missing content that still didn't add much value. Definitely had its boring parts but wasn't terrible either, helped that there wasn't any forced drama involved here and focused more on the comedic route with Miyamura surrounded by chaos about his tattoo situation the whole time. Can imagine the flow of this series is going to be messy since they are going back and adapting various skipped chapter portions, first part of the episode being before Miyamura even had his haircut. There was one thing that I could relate to in this episode though. During a school trip that I went with my friends to India nearly a decade back, me and someone had to share a room together at the hotel, and before I could get inside with my stuff, he fell asleep inside. Took an hour of knocking on the door loudly to be able to get in, not the best day I had that time. Can sort of empathize with Miyamura and Ishikawa there. |
| I'm happy to see the characters again, it's honestly refreshing to watch Horimiya again after the recent anime I've been watching Also the period joke was funny, great episode! Can't wait for the next :) |

| Horimiya is back and it is still as cute as ever. I enjoyed the last season a lot. So... I'm looking forward to this one as well. Can't wait for more. Both the OP and ED are nice as well. |

| It somehow returned and I'm really glad. Horimiya was one of first anime I started watching on weekly basis. Funny 1st ep, it's been only 2 yr and still feels little nostalgic really good to see those vibrant hair colored characters back. |

| Good to have horimiya back, I’ll never forgive them for butchering that first season, but this was a good start to this anthology series. The slice of life aspects and side characters are really the best part of horimiya, so finally having them get their due is nice. Production quality just as good as the first season, that humour and banter that we’ve come to love is still intact, very solid episode. Miyamura using his period as a way out of swimming is hilarious. |

| Starting to fangirl all over again, might have to rewatch the first season only because I love this show so much Miyamura being a hottie as usual and Hori is just amazing. No word Love it   |

| what a great start to the summer 2023 anime season. i really missed these characters, so it's nice to see them again. i could not handle myself everytime miyamura 'being on his period' was brought up. they're all so funny. i can't wait for the rest of the show |

| Nice to see Horimiya returning for more, but why couldn't they do this earlier with the original anime in 2021? It'll certainly be quite disjointed for sure, similar to the situation around Ranking of Kings. That said, the first episode was still good, with more of the comedy that made Horimiya a solid series in the first place. Not gonna lie though, I don't remember much from the first season. |
| You bet your ass I was surprised to see this was a thing when I picked my Summer 2023 list lol, I really enjoyed the original anime and it was actually the same season I first started doing weekly MAL posts so I’m really happy to see they’re going back and adapting stuff they missed from the manga, because from what I heard they skipped a lot lol. And this first episode was a good one to start, it was definitely more comedy focused and I liked that about it, the bits about Miyamura on his period were hilarious, as well as Sengoku’s arm exploding lol. And during the Kyoto trip bit they even threw in some romance between Hori and Miyamura just to remind you that these two are an amazing couple lol, I loved the fall scenery during that part too. And I’m really liking the new OP and ED, nice visuals and great songs, and although the OP is by a different artist it does have a similar feel to the original OP imo. Once again I’m really happy to see this back, just getting more of these great characters is enough for me whether it’s chronologically all over the place or not, summer is off to a good start! |

| wow it's been a while! i also barely remember anything from s1 LOL was horimiya always this funny bc i was absolutely dying during some parts, especially the excuses sengoku and miyamura were using to get out of swimming |

| It's back baby!!!! Honestly would've preferred this to be included in the first season, then have it end with a second season. But I'll take what I can get. Really missed watching these characters interact with one another. It's gonna make my summer a whole lot better knowing that they'll return each week! |

| Miyamura is back. I'd remember Horimiya first episode is a masterpiece, while this first episode is just a normal episode. Well, glad it's actually a new scenes, even though I don't really remember everything from the previous one. Wait, why Sengoku didn't want to swim? Ge can't swim isn't he? |

| I'm so glad this spinoff exists. The only issue (but still a very major one) I had with Horimiya was that it was RUSHED. Whole source material adapted in like 13 episodes. Similarly to that Ranking of Kings spinoff we just had, it's main purpose is to cover the content what was basically essential. |

| It could've been better if they adapted these into the anime earlier though, but here we are. Horimiya is back after two years and it's definitely worth watching for this summer! |

| the first few mins kinda bored me until the room/bath scene with hori and miya, that was nice. and the girl's uniform thing was funny. oh, also those guys looking at ayaski's feet LMFAOOOOOO bro basically said "for free?" just an alright episode overall, but horimiya is back and let's see how the rest of this spinoff goes. |
