| i'll consider pure romance animes. with a lot of romance and romantic elements. Clannad After Story. This is unparalled to this date. A romance anime better than this doesn't exist as of now at least. The others are in no particular order. These are the ones I think are pure romance animes with no bullshit and some actual scenes which make you go squee. I tried very hard to not include romcoms. | Judging from OG Big 3 is from shounen manga (Naruto, one piece, bleach), so I only mention Big 3 romance from only shoujo manga. -Ouran -Kaichou wa Maid-sama -Kimi ni Todoke This is solely based on popularity. Also Fruits Basket is not in my Big 3 because it's basically shoujo version of Dragon Ball. So FB is ancestor of big 3 romance. |

| The thing about 'Big 3s' is that they change over time as shows come to an end and new shows come in to take their place, as the 'Big 3' concept typically applies to shows that are currently still airing. The 'Big 3' of Battle shounens may currently be Naturo/Boruto, One Piece, and My Hero Academia, but there original Big 3 consisted of Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, and Fist of the North Star. Other shows that would spend time as a 'Big 3' battle shounen would be DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, Bleach, and Dragon Ball Super among others. If we were to apply this same logic to romance anime, the 'Original Big 3 of Ramance' would most likely be Glass Mask, Maison Ikkoku, and Touch. Other ramance that would've spent time as a Big 3 romance would include Clannad, bother versions of Fruits Basket, Honey and Clover, Inuyasha, Nodame Cantabile, Chuunibyou, Toradora, Skip Beat, Ore Monogatari, and Quintessential Quintuplets among others. Now, if I were to say what the Big 3 of Romance currently are, my picks would be: - Kaguya-sama: Love is War is the most obvious inclusion, and with good reason. - The Urusei Yatsura reboot will most likely continue passed one season, so it gets a spot. - For the final spot, I would select Rent-A-Girlfriend. That said, this spot is definitely one that could be up for debate. |

DearS - Ren Ren Ren Nagusaran Rensia Ruroonren Nakora is a clueless alien girl who was genetically bread to make a perfect slave girl. She has little understanding of how things are on Earth in human society, but her instincts in being a good sexy slave girl is definitely on the mark. I have a beloved harem waifu from each of these shows. Honorable mention goes to: Darker then Black gaiden for Yin. She is cute but show ends their good time together too soon and gaiden is only 4 episodes long to begin with. Another too has good relationship between Sakakibara and Mei Sora no Otoshimono for Ikaros. I do hope they will make a spinoff where Saukrai and Ikaros are like Hei and Yin in gaiden |
