In the novel, Nerine is the only route that ends "well", IE. no negative repercussions, and her route is the starting point of the sequel. Basically, the anime adapted a "semi-bad" end from the novel. |

In fact if you notice through videos of people in Japan - medium and short hair length is much more common than long (as in past shoulder length). |
