I'm here because I love anime and like watching the shows.
Might get around to doing some wee reviews at some points... if MAL's review system becomes less broken at any time.
Things to know about me:
I never rate any shows until I either drop them or finish them.
I won't favourite any anime until its finished airing.
If I drop something, I more than likely will finish it eventually.
I watch everything.
I go into everything hoping for the best. People around here need to be less negative.
Current Worst Anime:
Milestones:
#200 - Chitose Get You! - One of the funnier shorts I've seen in awhile. Simple storylines and quite standard, but a lot of fun to watch, ploughed through it all in a single sitting.
#250 - Akuma no Riddle: Shousha wa Dare? Nukiuchi Test - A fan service OVA I didn't realise existed for quite awhile. Quite funny in parts, nice to see some of the characters again but unfortunately also tries to deal with 13 or so characters in a 20 minute episode so it feels pretty rushed.
#300 - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! OVA - Just a reminder of why Konosuba is one of the funniest anime this decade. Great comedy elements, great characters and even among all the fun, they manage to stick in a genuinely effective character moment for Megumin.
#350 - Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - A fantastic anime that is just so "Shaft" in nature. It's like Bakemonogatari but a lot lighter, definitely something I would recommend to people before they get into Bakemonogatari. Very funny with a great cast of likable characters. I think it might suffer a bit from how episodic it is with certain plot points just suddenly disappearing, especially with such a large cast where certain characters just disappear from existence occasionally.
Oh man, yah I have that $350 blu-ray set myself, it's still the best anime purchase I've ever made probably. I've never seen a better looking show in Blu-ray, some of those movies are just stunning, especially movie 5.
I hear mixed things about Clannad too. As far as After Story goes, I think it resonates mostly with people who have a bit of life experience, especially emotional experiences during school or as parents. It's a really intense show sometimes because it's so relatable; it's like stuff that could happen to anyone. Idk, it seems the people who do relate REALLY relate and those who don't I wouldn't expect to care much for it :P
You'll have to let me know once you've seen any of these three what you think, definitely some of my favorites. I'm also watching Heartcatch Precure right now, and well... it almost feels weird to recommend it, but so far it's legitimately very well done. Awesome animation, well-paced humor, and a story that is for kids, but doesn't insult the viewer's intelligence. Pleasantly surprised, but only recommending if you can get into that kind of stuff in the first place.
The stuff we've both watched we actually seem to have almost the same opinions on XD Tbh, I can't really recommend anything I've seen recently very highly... I can recommend some shows I'd almost guarantee you'll enjoy, though. Black Lagoon for straight-up action awesomeness, Garden of Sinners for a more psychological/metaphorical drama/thriller show, and Clannad. The thing with Clannad, though, is that you need to watch Season 1 first. You'll notice I gave S1 a 7/10, just a competent show, but After Story is just brilliant and you could probably appreciate it. Very worth getting through S1.
Huh,then you are like a certain somebody I know :D I liked her too, but still it's all Winry for me.
Haven't watched the dub so wouldn't know how she sounds there, but I figured that would be case for you based on favorites.
Guess I should show you my favorite "military chicks"

Found ya through that guy with 11/10 review btw, it cheered me up.
I'm happy that you know how to count the number of anime I have on my favorites. Maybe work on acquiring a larger sample size before making presumptuous conclusions though.
Sorry that you need chemo though. Give me your hospital receipts and I'll pay your bills.
Well I gave Ass Wars a 3 I believe, a 6 for me is something like Erased, Death Parade, DxD series and I know for a fact that Ass Wars is not even close to the ones I just mentioned. Each to their own but personally speaking for me it was a garbage low tier harembattle, wasnt even close to Rakudai which was the Battle Harem rival of Asswars in that Season. Enjoyment matters definitely to certain degree because if you rate something based of pure enjoyment then there is no point of criticizing something. Take for example SAO fans, they love the anime, calling it a "master piece" and put an 10/10 based on their pure enjoyment, and when they see someone giving valuable points about why SAO fails to be good they often respond "You are thinking to much" "you take anime to serious" etc. For example, I love the SNAFU series but even if I love the characters, plot, the setting etc I know is not a masterpiece or even close to something like that, I know the flaws of SNAFU and still enjoyed it but that dosnt means I should give it a 10/10 because I liked it, that would make every single anime a 10/10. For me a 6 is a perfect score for something decent enough to watch. Take Erased as example I gave it a 6, even tho I genuinely liked Erased it was a "Fine" or a "Okayish" but you gotta realize that the plot sucks, the characters act way to smart for a bunch of kids, way to many unexplained things etc etc.
"don't want to lower my mean score so I don't score bad anime."
I got aids with that comment.
The problem with not rating anime is, If we dont judge they shit they bring to us, who will? "I Cant Believe My Light Novel Adaptation about BattleHarem School Cant Be This Generic" (lel oreimo joke). Everyone complains about that yet they give 10/10 SAO BEST ANIME EVER or THE ASTERICKS WAR IS SO GOOD 9/10. Then you hit them with arguments about why is shit and they have the audacity to say "I only rate with my enjoyment, thats what matters" Thats why I try my hardest to rate things that are according to what the anime presents. If someone has a mean score of 7.0 or 7.5 is because either they have a shit taste or only watch "good" anime. I like you, you understand me. Feelsgoodman.
As for Mayoiga, Hmm, It started promising even tho the 30 characters thing really turned me off but the story seemed to be interesting at beginning, around Episode 3 is where things start to fall down slowly mainly the problem being: The Characters.
The Characters are really obnoxious, they lack of common sense, and their actions barely make any sense at all.
I could go Hours and Hours talking about why Mayoiga deserves a 2/10 - 3/10.
The only solid reason I keep watching it is to see just how bad it is, the flaws I can spot. What could have done this anime x10 better.
I consider myself a little bit of a masochist, I like to watch bad shows in order to identify what is the definition of a "bad anime" and to compare it with the same anime of its genre.
Personally I believe this is why people tend to have a "biased" taste, People tend to only watch good anime or "decent" and rate anime only above 7. While if you watch bad or mediocre anime you gain experience of what is the definition about bad anime and makes you question why shows like SAO etc are rated so high.

So you're watching Gintama that's great.
Well let me give you an advice.
Just for the information.
The first Episodes and the following first Episodes can be quite average.
I know that it can be for many people. So maybe for you as well.
But it will improve a lot afterwards.
So I hope you will keep on watching Gintama
