Too bad about the party for Sophia. That took the fun out of her after the incident of being locked up. On another note, at least she still has her gorilla powers. She also made more discoveries at school too.

It's scary what characters are willing to do out of jealousy. Still not a fan of Carissa but she seems to have a better impression of Sophia now.

Seeing Sophia give up on Louis so that other girls can hang all over him made me sad. Why is she like this? Her kindness is her own enemy. But seeing how she wants to spend more time with him and has realized her feelings for him, I’d say this was the best thing for her. With this, the plot will develop well, especially with a character like her finally knowing what she wants in life.

I'm curious how Sophia didn’t raise a question about the fact that she was talking to a freaking squirrel!

I can say for sure that Louis by no means hates Sophia, as he had started to show his feelings for her a lot earlier than she did. And maybe that squirrel is related to Louis—like maybe he can turn into it or control it, or something along those lines—that could explain his strange behavior out of the blue toward her. Or if not, then something else entirely. Either way, I’m looking forward with genuine interest to finding out the reason behind his sudden change in behavior.

Carissa and her minions have started to like Sophia, and this positive change will help Sophia live a rather peaceful school life.

I’m starting to dislike this series. I know character have unique personalities, but the nervous shaky voice is overused and the stuttering too. It’s starting to irritate me. Not only that but she can’t even tell the truth to say she was kidnapped, "I followed someone”.

@TestarossaCarnaa , same and I find it pretty annoying too (the lack of confidence etc.), but feel like I've started to grow an immunity to it (while still knowing it's irritating) since it's so common in these kind of series.

I like the comedy with the huge gorilla drawings behind her as she's doing certain things, like when it was the caged gorilla as she was in the crate ๐Ÿ˜†

Was also expecting her to throw the bomb into the air the whole time (since it was heavily foreshadowed), and was kind of surprised when she ended up kicking it (strong box) but funny result though either way.

Sophia is too selfless for her own good and it makes this hard to watch at times. I hate that she’s willing to put everyone before herself. Staying in the old school building so Araignee didn’t get in trouble with Carissa’s gang and so the other girls would have a chance to talk to Louis.. and even being willing to take the brunt of a bomb explosion to not inconvenience anyone.. this girl needs to be more confident!

Glad everything worked out with the terrorist attack, but taking everything on by yourself is a recipe for failure! I feel like Louis is starting to realize his feelings for Sophia too and that’s why he didn’t face her directly. He’s a calm and cool person so he’s probably struggling to express how he feels too, not to mention probably feeling bad that he let terrorists sneak into a party

Carissa and her goons fake asses wanna be friends now ๐Ÿ˜‚ normally I’d say fuck off, but tbh Sophia needs some girlfriends and these are like the only ones available rn. Crazy how being caught by a teacher makes everyone become saints lmao

Good episode. She discovered what liking someone feels like, along with some funny gorilla action. Also a hint of conspiracy is revealed. The characters develop and the story moves along. One of two silly OP shows I look forward to a a Sunday morning ๐Ÿ‘

I'm glad the bullies finally realized their mistake, they went from being annoying to Sophia and doing the classic trick with juice on her dress to becoming more of a sociopaths when they tried to assault her with the scissors and then trapping her in a box. I liked how Sophia finally realized about her feelings but the execution of this episode was pretty bad, Sophia not having any rush to tell the others about the criminals and the bomb (I guess it could be excused since she has no experience with this sort of experiences) and she should had thrown the box instead of kicking it.

Today, in "Bomb squad":

Superhero landings

Superhero strength (though, she would've done that in the last episode... Not the point, not the point)

A weird, green-eyed rodent, trying to save the day

And Jinshi was pissed off this week. It seems his girl in this universe was also kidnapped (if you know, you know)

©2025 LaczPro

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

That was the worst episode so far and by a long shot. I think the genre tropes are generally pretty fun, but if it's taken to an extreme like this and the fucking people planning a bombing are ignored, she doesn't tell the others where they are and they don't ask either just really destroys any suspension of disbelief.

It's totally fine for her to be flustered, confused and everything else, just a bit of showing that the other people there actually want to be knights and care about catching the people who tried to bomb their school party would be pretty nice.

totally agree!! Sophia is stupid. People that are too kind are in fact stupid/have low self-esteem. At first I thought that the MC will be more courageous but welp, disappointed.

i didn't really like the logic and decision making in this episode, it really made the show feel so much worse off one episode.

ughhh... just overflowing with mediocrity. Louis was obviously the squirrel the whole time. who else would have been 'the student who happened to see everything we did.' ?? nobody else was in any of the rooms. also, what squirrel would have hung out with a human girl in a building attic or thought to grab the clock's arm and try to keep the bomb from going off? Louis isn't looking at her because he is embarrassed to have heard her love confession looking like a squirrel. she could have more safely THROWN the bomb up into the air from the window of the THIRD-FLOOR attic than KICKING A BOMB into the air from the grounds of the school. leave the lid of the box open so you can see the clock face, wait till the hands are nearly touching THEN throw it up. also, what's up with the 'bitchy-rich-bitch squad' sudden reversal towards buddy-buddy-status with Sophia? lame.

5 eps in? this one is now On-Hold for me. i'm gonna wait and binge till the finale when i don't have anything better to watch. because i'm quite bored and tired of this show.

There was a some improvement in this episode over the last episode, but it needs to continue with that upward trend. And while we all know that Louis being upset with Sophia isn't something that will last, I think it's a good lesson for her to learn.

it's really painful to watch Sophia to be honest... she just keeps on trying to hide herself, trying to be nice, trying not to stand out yada yada and because of this, it's kind of annoying to watch.

Why am I still watching this when I'm mostly just annoyed every episode?

I guess the two guys on the 3rd floor are still tied up there because as far as I can tell she never actually verbalized that she captured and restrained them to ANYONE! It should have been the first thing she said when they found her!

And by taking absolutely zero action to defend or stand up for herself, she managed to inexplicably flip all the bullies into a new friend group. She is the ultimate doormat heroine and it all works out without her actually having to change or grow so she can be a fucking doormat next week too. What a role model.
The only reason she didn't die this episode was because an unnaturally intelligent Squirrel managed to snap her out of stupidly suicidal plan long enough for her to notice things exploding in the air above her and for her only two neurons to finally connect and throw the bomb.

That's not even mentioning how that appeared to be the most easily disarmed bomb imaginable. I'm not a bomb expert, but if the hands on a clock pulling the strings is the actual timing method. Cut the strings! Literally use your fingers to hold the clock hands. Hell, just spin the hands counterclockwise, or bend the hands so the strings never go taut! Poke a Gorilla finger through the clock face and destroy the gear works so it stops ticking! Anything is better than suicide-snuggling a bomb in a courtyard surrounded by occupied building.

Oh no... Louis sempai gave her the cold shoulder, woe is me. I hope he's actually just sick of her constant self depreciation and groveling, but I'm sure somehow or another we'll be right back to that formula in an episode or two.

@Mattinator95 his last name is pretty much Squirrel.
I would kind of hate it a bit though because it seems to go against how the powers supposedly work. She doesn't literally turn into a Gorilla using her powers, the bird guy grows wings but doesn't turn into an actual bird. So it'd be a little hard to accept if his power is turning into an actual squirrel. Not to mention all the times morphing back into a human would have been more helpful, like when Sophie had to 1v2 some terrorists or was literally about to nobly blow herself up.

Unless he's got some kind of "frog prince" type curse on him or something that he can't actually control. That might explain it.

Yeah, I thought this episode was the weakest of the series so far. She only thought to send the bomb into the sky after seeing the fireworks? Then, instead of throwing it she punted it, lol. Pretty sure that amount of force to a live bomb is not very safe, but I am no expert on bomb disposal, lol. The rest of the episode was just all very basic/typical. Not to mention, the mean girls doing a complete 180 felt awkward. I can understand feeling bad about putting someone in legit danger, but it just felt off the way they acted during and after the apology. It was like they were completely different characters.

It felt like Carissa quit being a bully too easily. I would understand it better if she knew about the bomb, Sophia being a knight and the prank she pulled about killed Sophia. I'm pretty sure all that is still a secret. I don't understand her sudden change in heart.

I generally love the "bullies/enemies to friends" trope, but with how much Clarissa and the other 2 girls did to our heroine I don't like how it's just laughed off. They destroyed her dress with scissors and locked her up in a box! I want reparations from these girls^^

It didn't came so far since gorilla girl saved the day, but I'm a bit confused by the bomb and what it would have done exactly if the plan had succeeded. Since the bomb was in the old, empty building, maybe is was primarily meant as intimidation? Don't know if I'm underestimating the explosion radius that was visible in the sky, but to me it really didn't look so big that it would have directly hit the people outside. ๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ฅ

And I know Sophia was flustered when reporting the incident, but I hated that she didn't give clearer instructions in which room the two intruders were tied up. It was also super unnecessary for Louis to ask Eddy to accompany Sophia when they still had to take care of the intruders (it felt like Louis was very controlling and didn't trust Sophia at all to just go back by herself...)

I like the anime so far, but this episode felt weird

Swear this girl needs therapy or something, staring at a squirrel from when it's still light out till when its dark, being too shy to talk about getting trapped in a box, mentioning the suspects as an after thought, and was going to hug an explosive to try to stop it.

I've been loving this show so far but I thought this was the weakest episode. None of Sophia's decisions made sense.

I also thought the bullies were really entertaining, but then they did a 180 and they're her friends now so I guess that's it. Them being friends just felt so forced and sudden.

It seems that they are deliberately putting these PowerPoint style animation to annoy some fans and to be unapologetic that they only have a cheap animation budget.

I love this anime nonetheless. As expected, Sophia will find the bomb.

I didn't expect the bullies to suddenly get kind to Sophia. Their bullying isn't hurtful anyway.

Oh well, the villainess is such a joke, she will probably remain a joke even if she is friends now with Sophia.

I suspect the squirrel is his familiar or something. Isn't his gift related to squirrels as his surname Scarrel suggests?

Man, Sophia really needs to have some self-confidence. What’s she going on about with 'If only I were cuter, I would've been by Louis's side'? Like, bro already invited you to be his partner, and he was pretty satisfied with you by his side. So I don’t think it's about looks at all to him. And even if it were about looks, he still accepted you by his side. Doesn’t that tell you that you’re cute enough already? Like, seriously, stop being so self-sacrificing.

Sophia aside, I’m really confused as to why Louis was so cold toward her. Like, yes, she did leave the party without telling him, but she already explained that she had no time for hesitation. She saw suspicious people, followed them, discovered they were the bombers, and dealt with it in her own way—she had no time for anything else. Instead of being thankful and grateful to her, he treated her that coldly? I mean, he did tell her to get some rest and everything, but still, he didn’t seem grateful or thankful at all. Like, bro, the girl didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t be that cold toward her, come on.

Louis aside, I’m really glad Carissa's gang has been called out because they really need to chill with all their unjust bullying, especially when Sophia never did anything wrong to them. Speaking of that, i really liked how they dealt with that, it was really mature of them to accept the reality and actually apologize to Sophia after everything they did to her. Like, if she hadn't gotten the gorilla's blessing, she literally could've been offed. So, I’m glad they learned their lesson, and I hope they don’t do that kind of crap again.

My gut feels like it would have been so easy to write a better reason for Carissa's attitude adjustment than "someone tattled, and I got in trouble, and now I feel bad" which is such a weak rationale for completely switching her attitude. It sounds like a joke.

Just have Doormat-chan protect or save her from something falling on her during the incident. Anything. Just a moment where Carissa is in danger and Sophie puts herself in danger to protect her without hesitation. Maybe have her get injured a little so it makes sense to send her away to be treated. Like when she saved Dog-kun during training. (Which is a much better way to show her as being selfless and heroic than planning to death-snuggle a bomb) She wouldn't even necessarily need to reveal her powers. Then I could actually root for both Sophie and Carissa much more, especially if Carissa was genuinely moved by it and truly started regretting her past actions because of it.

It's just been needling at me all day today so I had to put it out there.

What's that Mr. Squirrel? Did Sophia get caught in yet an other socially awkward position?

I get she is socially awkward as fuck, so that is why she hid in the crate and it was great seeing her putting her gorilla gains to use. BUT I'm sorry, is she now friends with her goddamn bullies just because they are sorry they got called out on their bullshit!?
I think this is the final straw for me I am dropping this now.

Sophia is still unbearably gutless, naive, selfless and stupid, but I see a faint glimmer of hope blooming in her.
Was that squirrel Louis' god? ๐Ÿค”

And why was Louis so cold toward her, basically ordered her to her dorm, and asked a.. second-hand report about what happened instead of asking Sophia directly for that report. Legally that is called "hearsay", which rhymes with "horseshit". Was Louis mad he was dumped or is he treating Sophia as a damsel in distress - well, not without reason, as she was willing to absorb much of the bomb's explosion and die to save everyone except herself.. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผ

Truly, Sophia is nauseating.. Thanking her bullies too, and feeling embarrassed for their apologies.. ๐Ÿคฎ
She almost apologized to them for... embarrassing them due to bullying her.

When you get locked in a closet and moved around, sometimes you have to vent to a suspiciously smart squirrel.

I'm glad those fireworks went off when they did so Sophia didn't stick with the plan to sacrifice herself.

Also some teacher admonishment has caused Carissa and her friends to make peace with Sophia. What an excellent development.

Idk, the pacing is just atrocious.

The conclusion is predictable (in a positive manner), but the entire episode could've been done in just 12 minutes.

Also, I feel like I was scammed by both the first episode and the series title.
