Not really a big fan if we are talking about anime, but I don't mind if it's a video game.

Depends on what... anime, I don't mind but depends. Real life, nah, I've seen enough dead people.
Today, I may be a weak little bug that gets tossed in the wind,
washed away by the currents, and drowns, but tomorrow,
I may become the butterfly that spreads its colossal wings and flies the open skies!

Wouldn't say I enjoy watching real gore, but I'm a pretty curious individual and just happen to find myself watching it sometimes.

I found a site that had like compilations from ogrish, and that had stuff like war footage from Iraq, quite a few beheadings, most notable being Ken Bigley's - which i remember when he was in the news here at the time, and yeah...he didn't have a good ending.
The footage for all was pretty bad quality though, so that was what I found worse than the content lol. It's stuff I probably shouldn't watch, but for some reason it doesn't eat away at me like some other things do. I'd probably make a great photo journalist for that very reason....if only I could take decent photos though 😥

.... anyway, the same site had the 3 guys 1 hammer video, and I couldn't bring myself to actually watch that, I clicked off as soon as I realised that's what it was. The audio is bad enough.

And as for violence, I've been watching Pro Wrestling since 2000, and it doesn't bother me (I know it's predetermined yeah yeah), but strangely my dad hates violence of all kinds, and couldn't even watch TV violence.

I also watched horror and gore movies quite a bit as a kid, but don't watch them as much anymore.

But yeah... Its more curiosity than actively wanting to watch such things

It's entertaining, and a reliable method of attaching weight and stakes to violence that would otherwise feel too sanitised in fiction. Apparently, "Gore" is my favourite genre when sorted by weighted score, but I'm not surprised.

Used to browse numerous shock sites as well, but many of the more known ones have been defunct for years. Was especially fond of footage taken after accidents, since it showed even a person who was bisected horizontally could survive, make requests of onlookers, and operate a phone while maintaining perfect composure. There's something very graceful and beautiful about someone being completely relaxed in such a scenario, even when they know they won't be living for much longer. It always made me curious as to what their last thoughts were in those captured moments.

I'm not opposed to it on any sort of moral level. As long as real people or animals aren't being hurt or exploited, anything's fair game to depict in media. And, depending on the tone the story is trying to go for, I generally welcome it. It has the potential to be funny, horrifying and even satisfying.
Take care of yourself

I enjoy it. Its fun seeing animators go to town on it. As others have said, as long as its not on real people or animals.

Animated/artistic gore I'm fine with if it has its place (think Baki or certain myths/paintings, where gore serves as a symbol). Real life gore is a no-go for me, though. Not only do I faint at the sight of blood IRL (something I inherited, thanks mama...) but I also just feel incredibly sad and horrified at the fact that someone can have so little soul and semblance to a human being that they'd either enjoy harming someone to such a degree or even enjoy watching someone be harmed like that. If you enjoy gore you're either under the age of 16 and think yourself cool/edgy (many such cases), or you're a literal freak that should only walk in Hell, not on Earth. Don't get me started on people that get sexually aroused by gore.

This only applies to senseless gore, of course. If it's a fight with meaning, like a gladiator fight or a duel for muh honour, then that's different since the appeal isn't just the visuals of the gore itself but something greater. Those haven't happened in millennia though, so hey-ho

I don’t like gore videos but like every other month i might find myself watching them just out of morbid curiosity. They do help you realize the preciousness of life.

I find gore in entertainment to be cool and I like seeing how gnarly media is willing to be. I hate the reboot but Higurashi Gou 1x16 is the longest drawn out gore i’ve ever seen and was cool to see

It's not a reboot; it's a sequel. At any rate, let's see how you like these clips from Blood-C, one of the goriest anime. hehe

In a fight I prefer to see objects destroyed, houses destroyed, landscapes devastated by shock waves, etc. (but not as forced as a Michael Bay movie) outside of combat, no, which is why I don't like horror. It hasn't always been like this, even I liked the shocking effect when I was young, then growing up and having seen tons of real gruesome things it's something I don't like to see represented in fiction anymore, it's not that's scary it's something unnecessary to me. I prefer a type of suspense that leads the viewer to imagine shocking things rather than see them directly.

My favorite name for Gou/Sotsu is an ad for their shitty mobile game... I only really count animated gore as gore when it is depicted with the guts and bones as well. There were some scenes in that video like the girl getting split in half or the rabbit unscrewing that guys' head out but other than that the exaggerated blood splashes are lame. I think the scenes I did mention did pretty good at comparing to the Higurashi scene tho

Okay, but the primary definition of gore is shed blood.

Exaggerated blood splashes are common in violent anime (including Higurashi), but I know what you mean.

It depends. I dont like seeing real gore outside of more medical context where things are more clean. I got to see preserved via plastination bodies on display before which was neat actually but it didnt feel like gore since the process basically turns their body into plastic. I dont like when i come across dead animals especially gorey :(

Gore in cinema i guess it depends. I like blood splatter and limbs cut off but not like guts and stuff. I dont like things all gross and realistic or really jist there for complete grossout otherwise. I just am not into it.

Anime yeah gore sure it can look neat though depends how it is done and why.

Depends on which gore we're speaking.
I enjoy it quite a bit when it is in anime, video games, movies etc.
I have mixed feelings when we speak about NSFW hard-gore IRL stuff, as accidents photos, mass shootings, murders etc. So far from those NSFW the only one which seems to be interesting for me are bodycams from Police/Soldiers and War footages.

I don't enjoy it at all. While I may not mind it, especially if it's fictional regardless of 2D or 3D, I prefer to avoid it because I don't want to be too desensitized to it
There have been still Anime like Higurashi and others that I could enjoy despite that

It kind of depends. It can be good in a good fight scene or a horror anime or something. But just excessive gore for the sake of it is pretty lame.

It depends on context, like a lot of stuff. I also can't stand people's complete aversion against sexual or any other type of violence in fiction (understandable if it's a trigger, but lot of people are like: this is evil, so I never want to see that). Shitty things happen in this world, it depends how you portray them.

animated gore is cool. A lot of anime doesn't really do gore though, usually shows are just bloody. like you hardly ever see guts, organs, cut flesh, or stuff like that. Though even though I think it's fun to see I kinda worry about what reference videos the animators are being subjected to. I've heard somewhere that for mortal kombat the animators would reference real gore, which makes sense I suppose but still feels pretty extreme.

Fictional gore is fine and should not be censored. Real life gore is bad and ideally wouldn't exist at all. Idk how I feel about censorship on it. On one hand I think seeing the true grim reality can make people be more empathetic towards victims of war for example, on the other hand if it's for example footage of someone being killed I can't help but wonder how that persons loved ones feel about someone they care being paraded around of reactions.

I'm not big on things that are really heavy with gore. Mortal Kombat is pushing it, because it's pretty realistic, but my brain still processes it as a video game. You won't catch me watching things like the Terrifier movies though. Torture porn isn't my thing. 2D gore I'm mostly ok with. I grew up on Adult Swim and South Park. I saw characters get their skin ripped off on "kids" shows. I saw Spongebobs brain for fucks sake.

I think within the correct story, setting and plot point (Hellsing as an example) it can be a very strong addition. I think excessive gore for the sake of it when it doesn't fit character motivations, genres, stories or themes it becomes a watered down and edgy for the sake of it part of media story telling.

Watching gore exclusively takes a lot of effort but if it's used as a mode of entertainment between characters or part of the storyline like violence by martial arts in a wuxia context/gore from urban conflict in a war story then that's okay. Any more is kinda excessive.
