What a shattering moment for Satou. Damn! It's like her world just broke down in her mind. Her reactions of fear was exactly what I had expected too. Crazy shit. |

| So Shio finally remember what happened with her mother and threw a tantrum because Satou is treating her the same way as her mom did. Part of me wanted Shio to run away and see Satou goes full psycho, but I am also glad they are now partner is crimes. Wonder will Shio actually commit a crime like killing her own brother later on. |
| The adaptation is so good tho. Unfortunately it won't have an ending 'cause 12 episodes aren't enough but oh well. The transitions were very well made. |
Shio isn't capable of that, not physically and not mentally. |

It's been made pretty clear that Shio is pretty unaware of how bad stuff like abuse or murder is. Hell, she's hardly ever even been allowed outside. She's basically completely brainwashed by Satou, unfortunately. |

| So, Shio never really had any sort of amnesia about her mother and her family, as there was clearly no reason for it... It’s more akin to repressed memories after a traumatic experience. And, because of all of the abuse and adandonment both she and Satou have been mutually surrounded by, in a sadistic, sick and twisted fashion, they’re actually kind of perfect for each other. Or so the show seems to be trying to put across. Never mind the grotesqueness of their differences in age, and all of that. Man, this show is like being chained underneath a car, having the flesh scraped off of your skull, as it rips down the asphalt. 😕 |

| So technically Satou didn't kidnap Shio back when she found her since she was an abandoned child. And Shio is now proven to be still so young and broken that she still doesn't understand how bad murder is and just shrugs it off nonchalantly when Satou said she killed someone. Gotta say I really love how this episode focused on their relationship and how they really need each other to not break apart. My only major gripe with this episode was Shio went "I hate you" to comforting Satou in just a couple of seconds. Kids don't usually get over their tantrums like that and even if they it should've been transitioned better. |

| This episode was genuinely good and explored the relationship,past and personalities of Satou and Chio well. Post ending scene was also interesting. |

| I have some conflicted feelings about Shio and Satou, since Shio's mother is unfit, Asahi won't go to social services, and Shio is at least happy with Satou. Of course, since Shio's mom seemed to be keeping her clean and fed untill she ran out of money at least, living with Satou isn't exactly an improvement since she is still keeping Shio penned up like a pet. The kid needs to be going to school, no ifs ands, or buts. Satou is just as unfit as her mother. What's Shio going to do with no education as she grows up to adulthood in virtual isolation with no socialization/normal development in Satou's household? Something this anime has been making me think about has been the plight of single mothers and their children, which seems to be a very serious issue in Japan. They need some social reform, but I get the impression that over there glorious dai nippon can never be criticized. |

| Perhaps unsurprisingly, Shio's family situation was even more bleak than it first appeared, which certainly goes some way to explaining how Shio has largely been OK with the situation until now. Of course, after remembering all that, her outlook would change and her desire for more agency in her relationship with Satou is an important and inevitable outcome. I don't agree with Shio seeming entirely OK with Satou just murdering someone (I doubt she truly understands the implications of such an act at her age anyway), but the only rational explanation for that is she was just happy that Satou wasn't hiding things from her anymore. Either way, this situation is going to come crumbling done one way or another, as Asahi has the photograph of Satou and Shio and was close to Shoko, so he'll quickly figure out what's going on and either go to the police or take matter into his own hands. Of course, if Satou and Shio do leave - as they realistically have to do at this point - the fact of the matter is that someone will surely notice Shio and realise that she's the child on all the missing person posters Asahi's been distributing around the town. Hopefully next episode does a decent job of addressing these realities of the situation: based on the approach taken this week, that is certainly looking very likely in one way or another. |

| I'm really hoping the producers will give us a definitive end to the story. I think HSL will end up being a circular story. I would love to see the girls run off together and live happily ever after, but I don't think that's in the cards. As for Shio's Mother, even with the Manga background story, I think she's a witch and I hope she eats her own liver out raw. I have no sympathy for someone who abuses their own young. Even a badger wouldn't do that. It's easy for me to cut Satou a lot of slack. She's had a pretty crappy life and was spiritually dead until Shio came along. Though Satou's murder of Shouka is morally repugnant, it is understandable. |
| Funny when Satou-chan is becoming delirious after being hated by Shio. "not enough sweetness" XD Although scary that her reason for existing is now only because of Shio-chan.... she will definitely kill anyone who try to take Shio from her. |

| Not gonna say what but they left out a huge portion of why Shio's mom was like that. I'm not justifying her mom's behavior, nothing can ever excuse what she did, she abandoned her own child. However, her mother was also a victim in more ways than one. Anime-only watchers saw a glimpse of her mother's past, I'm not sure if they're going to reveal how she ended up with a guy like that as her husband. It was explained in the manga and all I can say is I felt so sorry for her mom. I was surprised by Shio-chan's outburst when she pushed Satou away, I almost forgot about that part of the manga. I've only read up to Chapter 37 since that's how far they've translated it but the manga itself is still ongoing and there's no real ending so I'm wondering how they plan to end everything in two episodes. I'm sure it will be an Anime-only ending kind of like how Gantz ended in the second season. HOLY MOTHER ASDLFKKLASLDK Asahi whispering or rather a faint memory of him whispering in Shio-chan's ear while she was out on the balcony fucking scared me. Was NOT expecting that. Also, that image of him dragging that baseball bat on the pavement was oddly exciting and satisfying. I hope to see a bloodbath. Since Shio has repressed her memories due to trauma, it's no wonder she can't remember Asahi yet. |

| That was a very nice episode that explored the past of Shio and the events with her mother. They went into detail and everything seems interesting. This anime has surprisingly been really solid these past few weeks. I hope they can end as good as the current really good streak of episodes. |

She's not allowed outside with Satou and her mother didnt want her outside as well. Ill agree she's happier with Satou then her mother so I guess when she's the only person in your life then why leave. As a child where can she go? |
