THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Well it looks like Tekkadan and the crew were able to get out of this mess even though they weren't fully armed.

Second half of this episode got pretty tense as well. The masked guy really gives me a bad vibe whenever he appears. Really glad to see Mika operating Barbardos again and coming to make a timely save.

All hell is breaking loose with the Mobile Armor on the loose. They have to stop it before it reaches the city of Chryse and kill everyone there. Iok's stupidity though... not only did it cost his men their lives, it also threw a monkeywrench into Tekkadan's plan to stop the armor, Iok's interference making it change its course...

Good thing the Nanolaminate armor can withstand beam weapons or Ride would have been a goner. Also Mika's Big Damn Hero moment as he swoops in to save Ride.

Vidar and McGillis come face to face sooner than expected... what would become of it...

Great episode, Loved it.

Mobile Armor wrecked Iok's men.
Iok's stupidity is on a different level though, He not only woke the Mobile Armor but also hampered Tekkadan's plan and caused even more people to die. How did a guy as stupid as him get into Gjallarhorn?

Damn, I thought Ride was a goner. Thank goodness for that Nanolaminate armor.
Also, Yay for beam weapons. XD Nothing as cool as them, Would be really cool if Barbatos got a beam weapon but I doubt it'll be useful. That being said, All the Barbatos stills in this episode were awesome.

Gaelio and Fareed face off. :o
Next episode is gonna be awesome.

Ok, Iok just raised my hate meter for him in absurdly critical levels!! I'm pleasantly anticipating for the time he dies in the show, and boy would I enjoy every second of it..

Helmwige reminded me of Alephist from Star Driver..

I really thought Ride was a goner there for a sec.. weird that the beam weapon is relatively weaker to current armor technology.. I thought it would just blast through Ride's mobile suit instantly..

looks like Flauros will debut soon.. and goddamn cliffhanger again, hate this life.. orz

Nice episode. Liked it a lot. Iok really is an idiot ha ha. Glad that Ride survived. Must have been a huge shock that the civilians all got killed.

Looking forward to see Mika + Fareed and the other guy with Fareed working together. (They also got some badass looking mecha.)

+ we have masked guy (Gaelio) and Fareed meeting. (I knew this was going to happen from the point where he told Julieta he wanted to take a different path/route. Probably going to reveal himself and doesn't want Julieta and the others to know.)

5/5 for this episode. One of the strongest episodes so far.

As far as I understand it, he was born into Gjallarhorn which is part of the problem. For all its might, Gjallahorn has too many hereditary members that are not up to spec and bring its fighting capability down. Compare to a survival of the fittest unit like Tekkadan.

Next episodes battle royale will be amazing.

Helmwige Reincar really looks like a Heavyweight MS, very different than Grimgerde who was like an agile MS, looking forward for the combat between McGillis/Isurugi with The Masked Man.

So this series switched things around: physical weapons/projectiles are effective against mobile suits, while beam weaponry is ineffective (maybe underdeveloped?) :O
Interesting... so people who tought that IBO gundams were weaker than all other gundams from other series might be wrong.

Well at least the MA beam weapon is still very effective for mass murdering civilian targets :p

Now we know why Beam weapons are not a thing in this Post War Era, Nanolaminated Armors.

Even if they were majorly used in the past pre-calamity war, They were simply made obsolete by the mass usage of nanolaminated armor. Ironically saved Ride and actually killed the farmers because it was deflected.

It would have killed the farmers either way. Do not twist the causality.
Iok is basically Ein v.2 in his personality. I am anticipating the interactions between the Gundam Ein and Iok when they fight.
And the most trusted advisor of McGillis is showing doubts towards his intentions. I am sure he is the first in a line who might betray their leaders. You expect it from the closest ones.

So the nano-laminated armor no sells beam weapons, no wonder Ride survived the blast. Looks like the mobile armor is much weaker than I thought. It's power is mostly coming from all those little sub units it spits out.

Tekkadan to the rescue!! with a but of hindrance that resulted in them loosing several hundred people, I feel so sorry for them to have to take responsibility to kill the mobile armour when its clearly not their responsibility

The huge blame should be put on that Iok guy. I hope he just die getting killed by the mobile armour, he's just too annoying to be alive even his own team are relieved when he left to chase Ferid to mars. That Iok is just a hindrance to everyone, he is useless, only making things worser for everyone.

Because of Iok's big fat pride and stupidity the job of killing the mobile armour just got way out of hand. DIE IOK

Excited to see how Tekkadan will deal with the mobile armor before it makes more casualties, and how will the "mask man" react to ferid

Iok is the "better" Ein, they will make him better and he is going to be just fine. Though, seeing how everyone else is an insanely twisted, bloodthirsty for someone's death saying "Awww I am gonna party after that", gives birth to unpleasant doubts of whether this series had any value except for flashy explosions and sick mechanical combat. A pity indeed, such potential wasted. At least there is no doubt what is wrong with socities today...

Ride jumps in to block attack of the mobile armor and does not use his shield? Probably a Warhammer 40k fan screaming in his head "MY FACE IS MY SHIELD!".

But I suppose they needed to rise the stakes by having someone actually die, poor farmers.

How often do you see a show where an annoying side characters get to fuck shit up for the protagonist and live to tell the tale? The living part need to be rectified in a cruel and painful way.

You mean like the pirates, Allium, bearded guy Graze pilot, and Radice. All from season 2 as well, with Iok and Rustal to follow before series end if the formula sticks. Heaven forbid, they actually, you know, have a character actually learn from his experiences and become a better person for it. In this case, Iok would be the closest, since he's not really "evil", just a bumbling fool. However, considering how the show has transitioned Hush from being Mikazuki's self proclaimed rival to #1 fanboy, that's obviously just wishful thinking at this point.

Iok can't get any more stupid. His stupidity got his men killed and ruined the plan to ambush the MA. He also almost got Ride killed, but Mika saved him just in time. The Nanolaminate armor saved him from the beam weapon too. I feel bad for Ride though. He thought he could protect those people, but the MA still killed them. All because of Iok. The ending was very cool. Gaelio and Fareed facing each other. Can't wait for the next episode.

Excuse my language but Omg Iok is such a Fcking retard like he was literally the only Gjallahorn heir of the stars that didn't know what a Mobile Armor was. Then he just decides to assume McGillis was trying to destroy the Mobile Armor for that one title promotion whatever it's called, and comes charging in waking up that Mobile Armor because he got within range of it and it sensed his Mobile Suit reactor. His men end up sacrificing themselves to have him escape as a he is heir to the Kujan who is of more importance then them but should be vice versa for his stupidity this episode. I thought to myself, "Oh good, he won't screw up anything further", but then he ruins that ambush and thinks a Mobile Armor which is a huge threat to humanity as one of the most wicked weapons can get destroyed by a long range shot from his Reginlaze and that's the end because he wants to avenge his men who gave their lives for him to escape. That shot ended up costing even further lives as that agriculture plant with innocence people got wiped by that Fcking laser beam. Rider was almost about to die by the sub-units of the Mobile Armor too but good thing Mikazuki came to the rescue. Iok is still continuing to act like an idiot and go into battle in his half damaged Mobile Suit to try to avenge his men again which may lead to more problems. I'm predicting Juilet is gonna save him again like at the battle with the Pirates. Who knows Juilet may die for his sake protecting him. I really hope someone writes his name in a Death Note like he literally is more AIDS than that Tekkadan traitor dude few episodes back who I already forgot his name but I know it started with a R.

I disagree with the latter part. Hush has a long way to go to see what Mikazuki becomes later in the series. Just as Iok is going to come in terms with his stupidity and ,unlike Ein, do it before becoming the Gundam Frame. Hush is going to witness firsthand the horrors Mikazuki bears inside, only to be there in the end to stop him from doing whatever mistake he is going to do. It would be a final fight in the series.

Also it looks like masked man is going to fight McGillis. This will be tense.
I wonder how they will handle the Mobile Armor. It looks like its beam weapon is useless against Mobile suits, but will kill anything else with ease.
(I have to admit I expected it to be more massive. More like a giant tank and not a giant bird)

This take on the calamity war is pretty interesting as well. I would like an OVA series about it. Why did someone create those MAs? Could be interesting, maybe we will get some more information in the future.

I am saddened that only small percent of the forum users retain their humanity while watching anything, since it is a focus in most series and symbolism, a real waste. You are not supposed to feel angst or hatred towards most of them, you are supposed to if anything pity them. Compassion, outrospection, understanding - it all comes down to this. This is the main message in this show, not the flashy explosions Iok makes while shooting at Mobile Armour that instill excitement mixed with rage in weak of soul.
As for Vidar, now evidently he is Gaelio. The helm not only hides his real identity, but helps him communicate with Ein whos consciousness/body is completely merged with the upgraded Gundam Frame. I believe it will be explained in the same episode where Gaelio reveals himself and blames McGillis for it all.
