----------------------------------------
The effects of his signing that ridiculous contract are finally beginning to show. It's going to be difficult if the owner continues fixing the game rates so that he loses half of his contract for every run. However, if Toua's planning what I think he is with the wall collisions, it'll be so badass that nothing else will really matter.

On a completely unrelated note, that drunk announcer was one of the best sight gags I've seen in a long time.

There were indeed a surprising amount of visual gags. Even the facial expressions of the players were quite amusing. Putting that aside, this was a pretty great episode. Maybe a bit too much time explaining the home stealing situation, but other than that the whole Tokuchi vs. Shirooka/Johnson battle has become as fun to watch as the Tokuchi vs. Takami/Mariners battle before it. Sucks that this will probably be the last episode for a good while what with the holidays and stuff though.

Too bad the episode ended just when the pace was picking up. The math is ridiculous, the players are not robots that always run/throw balls at the same speed. However the gags were awesome, I lol'd at the coach signaling to Tokuchi.

How many episodes is this supposed to be?

I liked the humor in this one, the source material is showing through quite a bit. Frankly, there was so much awesome in this episode that by the end I completely forgot they spent 15 minutes discussing math. Though maybe I have a longer attention span than some people.

Also does an excellent job of being a tease and denial show like Kaiji, "OH MAN THIS IS SO AWESOME THEY'RE GOING TO- damn it the episode ended."

AikoD: no one knows yet, I think we'll find out by January but definitely not 13.

An actual episode of One Outs that I did not enjoy. It was too precise and just pretty ridiculous. No out fielder can successfully field from the warning track. And with Tokuchi's control he should be able to pitch a perfect high and inside pitch to force a bunt foul.

This shows is getting better with every single episode. Only 11 episodes so far, but for me it's the best anime I've ever seen.

I've sorta given up on this show making sense in actual terms of baseball. :P It's more fun that way.

GREAT episode! Definitely intense! And Johnson seems like an awesome rival! Fastest man in the world, huh? For 30 meters I guess :3. Tokuchi's first run given up! THAT was exciting -- and he's not like "oh, I'm going to make it not count with a ridiculous-up-my-butt baseball rule". He's going to have to earn it all back!

Definitely loved this one.

rofl, 2.63 seconds vs 2.60 seconds. That is the exact time it will take every single play? XD

Whatever. I hope Toua gets Johnson to kill himself by running into a pole. That would be hilarious.

plus the fact that umpires are humans and often don't get the calls completely right is ignored. with something as close as .03 seconds, there would be about a 50% chance the umpire would say he was out.

oh well, i have no problem suspending some disbelief for this show.

I agree, it's better to just roll with it and enjoy, for now.

This is another perfect instance, however, where they should have just changed the numbers a little bit to add believability. I can't believe a .03 second difference, but I can easily believe a .5 or even .3 second difference in pro baseball.

They were, especially their reaction when they thought Toua had no batting experience. Plus what was the assistant manager doing, impersonating the karate kid? XD

I have to say my brain started to hurt a little from all the explanation, especially since I know nothing about the game, but it was all still interesting. I'll admit though that this battle is not as epic as the one verse Takami/Mariners..... yet! :)

This episode was tricky. I enjoyed the mathematics and all the time difference hooblah. But it's hard for me to believe that a .3 second difference happens every time and is a HUGE difference. However, aside from believability, this show is becoming a very mind puzzling anime. I'm thoroughly enjoying this show ^_^

Lmao, yeah. I love all the subtle things done in a show, some of them can be great.

Johnson running into the wall was great, but at that speed, it must hurt <_<

Heh surprised nobody mentioned the end where Tokuchi, who NEVER had any batting experience in life (as far as we know), had so good ball control on a pitch from a prof pitcher, even if he's not throwing his a game at that moment. But yeah for some anime you need to toss aside your reason and logic and just go with the flow, enjoyed the ep ^^

This anime really takes some obscure baseball rules and situations into focus. And also add in some stereotypical American as well.

I confused what Johnson's calculations are. Forget it that will ruin my brain from thinking it out.
When Toua first batted, I was shocked that it is first time batting.
Cat and mouse game it is tough as a motherfucker to trap Johnson speeding.

Jeez the hate for this episode was ridiculous.

I liked it. The math actually made sense and it didn't seem terribly confusing in my eyes.

Curious to find out Johnson's weakness.

Had to go and see the drunk announcer. There really were some visual gags I missed!

Good episode. I expect this next episode to be epic!

Well if nothing else, he could just keep fouling them into the left field like that, I mean Johnson will get worn out and probably a little rattled if he keeps face checking the wall like that.

I guess that the flaw is that Johnson can't stop running when he start to. So if he try to always send it on the side, he'll get injured at some point.

For the first time, Toua has registred gain, but what he said on the bench is some huge foreshadowing I believe. He said that with the coach logic, they think that he'll be able to get to home 8 or 9 times on 10. With their new strategy, if the coach get obstinated on that statistic, he can get nearly as much money as he lost. He could even transform it into a gain.

Though it was a bit ridiculous, I didn't mind the long explanations that much. Tokuchi still seems a bit too overpowered, but he did give up that one run. It's still really exciting though!

If the series continues like this, I will give it an 8/10. If they somehow throw in another great element or turn up the excitement even more, it could very well even become a 9/10.
