Hmm, wonder where that steel beam example came from. Johnson tries to copy the famed Brooklyn rage, but fails. The poor sap.

Looks like another extra innings game is coming up.

Wow, can`t wait when you say that(no offence ofc) since it looked like you didn't enjoy this show.=)

EDIT: That episode was much better than the previous ones. Can`t wait to see what`s coming up next.

if you like/love this show, then I absolutely recommend watching Kaiji, it's pretty much the same in design, but a lot grittier--i guess that would be the word. I never saw Akagi, but I believe that the three are all in the same boat.

Well, Kaiji is my favorite show, and Akagi was extremely good. Though I think Kaiji is easily the best of the three, but that`s my opinion. I love these shows=)

I would totally watch Akagi if i wasn't too lazy to learn mahjong. I remember i looked up the rules, saw how long they are, and just gave up.
Love Kaiji though.

You don't need to understand mahjong to watch Akagi. It might help, but I don't think it makes much of a difference.

Yup, exactly as you don't need to be a baseball fan to enjoy One Outs :)
In fact, most probably it's even better to be noob at the topic the anime covers.

I completely agree.

If you were someone who follows baseball than you'd just be all the more annoyed at the terrible run support that Tokuchi gets whenever he's in a game.

The Lyacons play TWENTY-SEVEN innings and can't score more than three runs?!

Agree...Well I looked it up a little bit, but I knew next to nothing. That is what amazes me with Akagi, I mean... Do you really know how hard it is to make something really interesting, even if you don`t know wtf is going on? That is pretty sick...

The Lycaons offense definitely needs to pick up the slack.

If you like One Outs you'll love Kaiji.

You might like Akagi, but you might be bored unless you really like Mah Jong and extremely repetitive visual metaphors.

btw, anyone else think Tokuchi is Akagi reincarnated?

Is Kojima playing or is he still recovering from injury? Absence of their batting hero could somehow explain their poor scoring.

Johnson RAGE at the end totally made this episode a 5/5. just the simple hilarity of his face garners 2 points.

and thanks to the posters before, I'm even more inclined to watch Kaiji and Akagi (since both were getting that much praise).

What a great episode! Things were starting to slow down with the past few ones, but this one definitely brings the show back on the track of ONE OUTS. I was starting to miss Tokuchi's psychological mind screwing. XD

Agreed, also the owner's realisation moment about the double plays was great. ^^

Hehe Toua can just move his team mates around on the field how he likes. Looked pretty cool when they set up the nine player infield again. Also he continues to make grown men shake in their boot, lol at the abyss of doom and towering Toua visualisatons XD

Actually it made me kinda miss Brooklyn and the rest of the Mariners team. During that arc we got to see the opposing team players interacting amougst themselves, found out their personalities etc. While here there's really only been a focus on Johnson and coach here.

If the anime continues to follow the manga, we will see the Mariners again. ;D Along with some new characters!

Still going but great episode.
Toua's planning skills make them so easy that they are scared to face him.
He finally strike Johnson out.
Can't wait for the next episode.

Every time Toua is in that red aura I just can't help but laugh. It's hilarious when he nonchalantly taunts his opponents into falling into his trap. The title of the next episode is really making me wonder what on earth he's planning now.

Toua continues to succeed in holding the Bugaboos back with those sick mind games.

That nine-player-infield was pretty cool.

Nobody has scored the entire game. Really wondering how the Lycaons are gonna score the game winning point against these guys with a strategist like Shirooka.

Johnson's engrish was definitely the best part of this episode. "Oh no! Shit!" I was cracking up! The owner screaming in terror definitely deserves an honorable mention though!

Great episode as always. It's looking like next episode will be the last one against the Bugaboos.

Wonder what the foreshadowing at the end meant . . . I think it either meant that he was prolonging the game, longer game = more outs = more money. If not then the infielders he subbed in were all really good batters. In which case he intends to end it this inning.

Damn, he's gonna get rich with that match too. I assume that the owner can't reach the manager phone since he doesn't retire Toua. The more this game get in prologation, the more money he cumulate.

Next episode title sure contrast with this one. He'll try to humiliate them, One Outs style.

Love how scared the manager reacts whenever Tokuchi has something to say, his reactions are priceless.

The enemy should just put in ear plugs, that way they cant be fooled by Tokuchi.
