WTF?!? ahh well, anime logic i guess. i liked how all the kids that were 'put to sleep' survived and got new places to live. :D plus Maomao got a new 'rascal little brother' to take care of out of that batch. hah! :D ;> and of course Jinshi still hasn't consummated his ... affections... for Maomao... ;> even the Crown Prince can't figure out how to abscond with Maomao long enough for a lil nookie! :D hahahhahah! :D so how long do y'all think we'll have to wait for S3 to show up? a few years?? |

| This season was amazing, though in a slightly different way than the first. Interesting to see that Loulan survived due to the hairpin. Between Maomao saying the hairpin "may turn up in a shop front somewhere" and 'Tamamo' selling to a shop owner for a little jade cicada, I think the pin will definitely make its way back to Maomao and/or Jinshi and be a sign to Maomao that Loulan lives on. I'm curious to see if Maomao will make it back in to the rear palace and what things will be like in her relationship with Jinshi going forward. He's obviously going all in now. I'm so stoked they immediately announced a Season 3 and I can't wait till it comes out. I'm gonna miss watching this every Friday. |
| First Shisui and then Xiolan too they removed both of my girl from the scene. Happy for her that she got a job now but will miss her cuteness🥲... Maomao crying for her showed how much she cared for little sister and Xiolan also used her teaching to finally able to write letters. Congratulations Gyokuyou sama, and now she's empress too. That does cut off Maomao possibility tho. Ik situation doesn't permit it but Maomao should have been invited during prince was announced atleast. It was predictable already but good that children survived. Also Suirei is spared I mean despite her crimes the suffering she endured fair. But why Ah Duo took them just generosity or something else in play.. JinMao bros eat good today. It could have better if those children didn't cockblock twice specially Kyou-U second time -_- Great response of Jinshi to Maomao's bs like "saliva is poisonous". Bite her that will teach her. Fun stuff. Romantic progress is slow as snake but still these interactions makes up for it.  Solid finish to another incredible season. This feels like a conclusion to both of the season as most of the matters are solved. Dk which season is better but this has way more interesting singular plot compared to episodic first one except the Lakan arc. There's more to look forward. Another 10/10. Well done Maomao & Jinshi. And most of it all best girl🫡❤️  |
| Another good season. I knew that Luolan survived when they said they couldn't find her body. When Jinshi found the hairpin, he will also realized he got tricked again lol. Glad that next season is already confirmed. SciTails said: Unpopular opinion, I'm sure, but it's become painfully clear to me that the author/screenplay writers do not know how to write good romance or even romance that isn't harassment. As in the frog episode, the "romance dynamic" continues to be "Jinshi tries to force himself on Maomao while she looks confused and/or terrified." As a "bonus" this week, we even got her verbalizing her fear with "This...this is bad!" It's bad enough for a character to appear oblivious/indifferent to another's advances, but more often than not, the visual cues and dialogue were more in line with "I don't want this/I'm scared of what he's doing," which takes the lack of consent to a new level. I guess a lot of people are into it, but I really can't understand why. Maomao is well aware that Jinshi likes her as you stated the bonus. The always interrupted scene is common trick for author to prevent romantic progression to next level. It's annoying but understandable that the author want to drag the status quo as long as possible. |

| i almost cried at Xiaolans letter. It just saddens me to see good characters go. the scene when Jinshi and Maomao are laying staring at each other next to the kids was beautifully animated 😍 was not expecting that. We can see in this episode how much Maomao actually cares for the people around her despite what she keeps telling herself and us. That tear there and the concern with Jinshi is the proof that she is indeed an unreliable narrator. |

| So much tension between Jinshi and Maomao, and a pretty happy ending, all things considered... An awesome finale! I'm very glad that the kids, as well as Shisui, or Tamamo as she is called now, survived. How the latter did, I have no idea. I'm sure we will find out when this series comes back, but I was very satisfied with the finale, and how it wrapped everything up. A lot of fun Jinshi/Maomao moments, and their dynamic is still one of the best things around. Had a smile on my face for most of this episode. Overall, Season 2 was excellent, though I'm not sure if I would have it above Season 1 in terms of overall enjoyment. I think the last arc of Season 2 really elevated the experience in how it was a culmination of everything built up to that point. It has a very impressive sense of atmosphere, mystery, tension, as well as comedy, and despite the extremely crunched production circumstances, I think the staff did a very solid job nonetheless. Keep this series coming, I'll be eagerly waiting for its return! |
| Amazing ep We resume with Jinshi getting caught by Maomao and considering Jinshi loves physical touch, he can't stop himself from touching Maomao despite her not stopping him, nor understanding him "atm". Touching of the scar and face was too much for Jinshi to handle. LMAO, he failed to kiss her with that interruption. Whatever princess maomao asks for, she shall receive. Nice to see the kids are alive again. Even new names!? Loved to see Maomao show emotion, she really thought Loulan was dead. Also, her friend is moving on to bigger places. She goes back to the pleasure district for sum time, but the goat's lust knows no bounds, and pounces once again, the minute they meet up to fulfill the promise to continue. Too happy to see her but too tired as well. Now Jinshi is a whole vampire, he really desires Maomao (inherent trait) with that bite. 😂 Beautiful hug as Jinshi's tiredness catches up to him and finds Maomao to be his lap pillow. He really got interrupted AGAIN. Great to see that Loulan is alive with the hair pin that Maomao freely gave away. She has finally gotten the freedom that she deserves 🥹 Like the title states, it is definitely “the beginning” of the jinmao ship that all of twitter has been going crazy for. 10/10 Kusuriya s2: 9/10  |

| Xiaolan's letter make the episode full of sandess, hapiness, and also hearthwarming, regardless of Jinshi which is tried to kiss Maomao, it's been getting hard to do so as every chance they've got interrupted by something. |
| The fact that they delayed the kiss each time for stupid reasons as lower my rating by 1 point. Still looks like typical anime romance for 13yo. |
| A great conclusion to season two. It was great that the kids came back to life and Jinshi agreed to spare them since they had "technically" died. Suirei was also spared because you don't execute someone with royal blood so easily and I suppose she is a useful card to hold onto as well. She seems subdued though by recent events so I hope she recovers her spark in time. Jinshi is making his intentions to Maomao crystal clear, but she is pretending to be oblivious because I think she wants to make him work for it. Finally, we get confirmation that Loulan really did live by sheer luck and she is taking that second chance and running with it. She drops the hairpin with a vendor and the really obvious clue that she is crossing the ocean for parts unknown. I believe her story is done and I like to think that she lived a happy and fulfilling life wherever she landed. Season three has already been announced, so I am looking forward to that. Until then. |

| I enjoyed how the story progressed from beginning to end! It wasn't a fast-paced narrative where you'd expect Maomao to rise quickly in rank; instead, she remained true to her role as an apothecary and detective throughout. I was satisfied with the conclusion of the story. I had expected that Loulan/Shisui would survive the gunfire, especially since the previous episode focused on Maomao placing the hairpin against her chest rather than in her hair. I also loved how Jinshi gained his freedom from being the Crown Prince, which was made possible when Lady Gyokuyou gave birth to her second child. |

| And with Loulan’s confirmed longevity, this masterpiece of a season, for a masterpiece of an anime, comes to an end with a very satisfying season finale, if it wasn't for LOULAN selling MAOMAO’S hair stick like it's NOTHING, when you made a PROMISE, GIRL! Loulan aside, I’m really glad Luomen stayed in the rear palace, since, as Maomao said, he was kicked out unfairly in the first place. What confused me, though, is why Maomao left the rear palace for the pleasure district. Wasn’t she serving Gyokuyou? What happened? That aside, I’m really glad both Maomao and Zuigetsu fulfilled Loulan’s final request, Zuigetsu by forgiving the children, and Maomao by taking care of them. Most of all, I’m just thankful they even came back to life. Thank god. Can't wait for the upcoming season, baby! |

@Skuvan maomao officially serves jinshi but now that he seems to being doing moon prince stuff now so she can’t serve him anymore , she could have if she passed the exam, also applies to gyokuyou now that she is empress

| @Mattinator95 If by "moon prince stuff" you mean his paperwork and similar duties, then he’s always been doing that. Also, what do you mean by "if she passed the exam"? Was there an exam to become a concubine's lady in waiting? And if so, did Maomao even apply for such an exam? I can't recall at all. As far as I remember, Zuigetsu basically just brought her in, tossed her at Gyokuyou, and Maomao started adapting from there, no exam involved. So I’m genuinely confused by what you’re saying. And lastly, sorry, but what exactly do you mean by "also applies to Gyokuyou"? I don’t get that part either. |
