| I like how the action started almost at the beginning of the episode,they gave a good start off to this, I hope it's as good as I believe. Altough Tatsumi should've had a better art style though. |

| Pretty decent first episode. I like the gore, I like the action and I like the animation quality so far. I'm not a huge fan of the *comedy* though. Its forced down our throats way too much, even in scenes where it really doesn't belong. Like in his friends death scene for instance. Hopefully they tone this down a bit as the series goes on... |

I just went from "meh, typical adolescent warrior than can fight monsters without a sweat" to "Everything is a lie!", "everybody dies" and "Feels" I know what I'm getting into, I think... I've read that this anime has feels but I did not expect it to hit -in a small amount of course- just in the first episode. Not only Tatsumi got screwed by Leone (the big breasted blonde) by taking all his money -well, he was naive enough to give it all to her- but later, what appeared to be a good family, good samaritans, turned out to be rotten evil. I did not expect such plot twist. The episode led me to believe wrong. And here I was thinking that Tatsumi was a fool for falling over Leone's trap and then I myself got deceived for the lie that family had going. Damn, I even felt bad when they were getting killed... Some fragments of gag/humor between shots to relief the darkness of the show. I am used to those and believe me guys, they are there for a reason. At first you may thin they are out of place, but they serve a purpose. I mean, this is WhiteFox... I can't never expect something less than GOOD AWESOME quality storytelling. While their animation is not top notch, it is good for their purposes or story. The rhythm of the soundtrack in the tense scenes was flawless. Not very animated, not very calm... just a disturbing a penetrating companion helping to deliver the feeling of nausea, betray and hatred. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  |

| Finished manga when last chapter came out but that's pretty much all I remember now. This capital is so messed up man , innocent and good looking people torturing newcomers for fun.. Even I couldn't think up of that. Good thing that at least this mansion is finished off now. Had listened to Le Chant de Roma solely on the internet , but with animation it is even better. |
| Well then, lots of fast paced and ridiculous moments. It's kinda interesting though, just wish they'd slow down just a bit, we barely know the MC and we've already been told his past, he's been scammed, picked up by a random girl and then joined an assassination group. The slaughter house part definitely caught me off guard though. |

| I was really surprised. It had a pretty bad start (the dragon fight didn't impress me), and I thought it would be a sort of low budget anime (e. g. the blood was completely unrealistic), but towards the end I really started enjoying it. Great opening to the characters and story overall :) |

| Bland first episode. Artstyle is yuck and the character designs aren't that great either. There's 0 build-up for anything that happens. Like we learn about 'Night Raid' (lmao) and in the scene right after they're attacking the house the MC is staying at. It's like 'oh I guess they're here?' and makes for an underwhelming entrance. No shades of grey with the antagonists despite trying to play it off like that. Also what the fuck is this directing. They present Ieyasu and Sayo's deaths as sad (even though you don't care about them) but a second later he's comedically dragged away from them and then forced into Night Raid. At least it's fast-paced so the bullshit doesn't drag on. |

It's also interesting scrolling through the forum and seeing the mixed opinions. It seems like people either love it, hate it, or liked the first episode but are unsure of how the rest will play out. Gotta agree. Not great, not terrible. It did not have a great start and the production value not that good even if you consider the time of release. However, likeable characters were established really fast, as well as the M. The show is handling humor well and the hints regarding the plot are promising. |

Besides several plot conveniences like Leone finding Tatsumi or she stopping Akame from killing him just at time, I don't care about anime not taking seriously but c'mon these Aria faces were not scary hahahahaha. Also, it was obvious that they were not good people, not surprised huh. Not to mention that the transitions between Aria shopping and the Night Raid attacking were pretty rushed, it didn't even have time to breathe. And wtf with his generic companions dying in such a brutal way that after that there is a funny scene. They should have respect for the dead lol. Only 2/5 cuz involuntary comedy |

| Akame ga Kill! was one of the first anime I ever saw nearly 4 years ago (10th anime exactly out of the 1000+ seen), so I wanted to rewatch this for a while now for pure nostalgia since I did remember having some positive feelings entertainment wise, despite giving it a low score. The first episode was... something. I really liked the music used in this episode alone, from the opening and ending songs respectively to the actual background music used for the action scenes and the down-time ones too. Not necessarily unique in terms of taste, but fitting for the kind of show it is and really likable to listen to as well. Makes scenes a bit more engaging that way. The actual content was a mixed bag. I felt like Tatsumi was way too naive at the start, don't know many anime characters who showed me more naive signs than he did at the very beginning when he just gave a random stranger with good looks all of his money just because he thinks the Imperial Capital has a ton of good in it initially. At least once he learned how harsh reality is there, and how the Capital not only fucked over his village with massive amounts of taxation but also had people who pose as innocent and caring but are truly downright sadists on the inside, torturing strangers for their own pleasure and using the prettiest excuses in the world too for doing what they want to do (like with Aria using Sayo's looks and hair as an example to torture her to death, pure kid-like jealousy). Tatsumi slaughtered Aria with no doubts when hearing the truth from Ieyasu so he has some spine to him somewhat. The episode did feel fast though for the most part when seeing it with too much going on from him just entering the Capital, to losing his money and staying at someone's place, to having to kill the girl and join Night Raid all in one episode, and the episode already feels like its shown me its cards with what kind of characters they seem to be, all pretty generic to watch. Plus the setting and narrative feels pretty generic despite Tatsumi showing flashes of potential with how he reacted towards Aria with no fucks given. Story had too many plot conveniences though, like Tatsumi happening to meet Leone and lose all his money to immediately finding Aria the moment he was chilling outside which felt a bit wacky to me. Also, the character designs really have everyone looking like Edgy Power Rangers looking at how everyone is color-coded so differently for the most part, Yellow Ranger being Leone here, Green Ranger being Lubbock, Pink Ranger being Mine, etc. Not the most creative designs to go with the fact that they're not the most creative and unique characters too. It wasn't a terrible first episode but the writing did feel amateurish for me. Good music though at least, and I wasn't bored by it due to said nostalgia. |

| I don't see the problem with gore, they didn't even show torture scenes. (It's like bursting a balloon filled with red colour liquid lol). If they didn't show the dark side of families how'd the people know that assassin's are on good side. Anyway, looks like a show just for me. Will see how it goes. |

| I've planned to watch this for so long and now I've finally got to watch it aaaand... Let me be honest, the first ep is really mediocre for me... The OP and ED was cool, it'll grow on me in due time... This show has distinctively stated how absolutely corrupt the people at the Capital are, so seeing this Aria girl being all nice is one hell of a red flag to me. And sure enough, the Night Raid came for her family, slaughtering them all for the abhorrent acts they've done to the unassuming innocent individuals. Two of them being Sayo and Ieyasu, Tatsumi's friends from the village. Now, let me just say, how ridiculously quick everything is, it's one scene to the next at a breakneck pace, so quick that there's no time to really feel the atmosphere of the scene at hand, the fact that the timing for comedy is horrible doesn't help either. Seriously, you'd think that after seeing two of his friends, there would be some serious moment, if Tatsumi is the kind of guy who could swallow that nightmare, then at the very least, he'd mourn silently, and yet... No, they're even more comedic acts after that. What a joke, hopefully I wont see too much more of this dumb shit. The only likeable thing so far is the assurance that Tatsumi is quite calm-headed in a certain situation, the fact that he avenged his friends by slicing Aria without any hesitation proved as much. He's a great asset for the assassins for sure. |

Man!!! That was sick! This episode alone was filled with twists. It was funny too in a way. I feel bad for the boy and girl. How weird and freakish that family was. I had a feeling that could happen but didn't thought this would come real. Hope I'll be enjoying this ... |
