WOOOOOWW, what a chapter! The whole thing was incredible. Pacing was great.

Vegapunk looks insane LMAO his forehead is bigger than him ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ohara winning is so cool as well, also I don’t really mind jaguar d saul being alive, idk if people have a problem with that.

Just such a cool chapter, another 11/10. The egghead arc continues to be absolutely insane. One of the best chapters of the series maybe.

really enjoyed this chapter
when I read the title of the chapter I already knew it was gonna go hard

Tho I really dont like how saul is still alive its another case where oda just doesnt want to kill his characters even if they have been thought dead of for decades, although I have to admit that robin panel makes it somewhat worth it this time around lol

'Cause he's a bad writer now tbh. Seriously why did he have the WG agents completely ignore the books? The whole point of the Buster Call was to destroy Ohara because the WG claimed Clover and his research team were studying forbidden information about the Void Century, so why did the WG agents leave all those books - which contained parts of that information - in the damn lake? Why not destroy them?

Also wtf was with Usopp? Why was he freaking out about learning forbidden information regarding the Ancient Kingdom when he and the other Straw Hats are already on the WG's hit list? Did he forget that he burned their flag - thereby declaring war on them - and that he's already got a bounty on his head? Why is Oda leaving huge plot holes like this, and then y'all just praise him with the usual "PEAK FICTION" bullshit?

So people who were saying that Vegapunk literally cutted his brain into different parts were right! lol

Also is Vegapunk related to Vice admiral Strawberry or/and had the same "condition" in which his head grows more every time he gets sad. (SBS Volume 97)?
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.123/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.231/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.142/? - weekly) | MAD (Ch.34/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.101/? - biweekly)
- Monochrome Days (Ch.28/? - biweekly)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)
- If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die (Finished)
- Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater (Finished)

You might be thinking of Fukurokuju, but yes Strawberry also has that same condition, I don't think there's anything big to it, I think Oda just likes people to have weird head conditions like the seven gods of goof fortune of Japan that they're based on

This was such an amazing chapter for Robin.
Ohara´s will is still alive thanks to the books the World government didn´t care to look up made me happy as hell, but Robin´s reaction after learning Saul is alive was such a heartwarming moment. Now I just want to see their reunion in Elbaf.

No books were burned, Jaguar was alive all this time and somehow Vegapunk memorized all the books? I'm really not a fan of how Oda has been writing lately.

1- A bunch of books were burned with the tree, only the ones they saved by throwing them into the sea were not toast, it's shown in the chapter/episode itself (though the historians literally died just to make sure the biggest amount of books were saved in their own capacity).

2- Not too surprising, Aokiji said Robin could still save her completely frozen friends if she was quick (he froze Luffy from top to bottom in a very similar way), during the climax of Long Ring Long Land arc (which means, he knew people could survive his freezing skills, meaning he may just have done that himself successfully by saving Jaguar, considering the blood in his eyes when he realized the Buster Call was bombing even Marines still on the island, including high officers like himself. I always found weird he wouldn't help Jaguar (a great friend of his, may I remind you) right after his change of heart with Robin, considering from that point on he started to hate the World Government, unless he died far quicker than Luffy and the others resisted. No mention of his body either, since the Marines basically annihilated the entire island and left.

3- Vegapunk, the greatest mind of a manga series with absurdly crazy human feats, memorizing all of the research available from Ohara must be the least suspension of disbelief I've ever seen someone complain about in One Piece lol; you are in fact, the very first. Try Zoro losing almost all of the blood in his body in Thriller Bark and surviving at least. Humans in One Piece are built differently, and Oda already stated as such in the SBS, it has been like that since the very start, it's not the writing "going bad", it has always been cartoony with capabilities of the cast.

The whole point of the Buster Call was to destroy Ohara because the WG claimed Clover and his research team were studying forbidden information about the Void Century, so why did the WG agents leave all those books - which contained parts of that information - in the damn lake? Why not destroy them?

1- First, WG agents were never present in Buster Calls, only Marines, which is why they even kill each other as long as they utterly eliminate WG's threats. Of course they wouldn't care about a bunch books, Marines didn't know a thing about the Poneglyphs nor why they were called to attack Ohara for their supposed devilish conspiracy by part of their inhabitants. The chapter on itself shows the 5 Elders straight lying to the Marines regarding the actual reason, and executing anyone who dared to even hint on the name of the ancient kingdom through their den-den mushi call with Clover. It's confidential information that would get any Marine of any degree executed (hell, the Buster Call on itself cared less about higher ups getting blown up with the island, to Aokiji's utmost distaste). Their information is so controlled that barely any Marine knew about Rocks' era other than veterans, let alone the void century and the content of anything Poneglyph-related that wasn't the weapons (aka, information few had access to, and mostly seeking the rumored weapons of mass destruction/their blueprints, which were the BIG REASON the WG used to ban poneglyph reading).

2- Their efforts after destroying the island was not to check if was anything left, and even Vegapunk stated they might not have even noticed the books underwater (and in case they did, the Marines had no idea of how important they were, which is just natural, considering they weren't in orders to destroy books, but to savage an entire island to the ground, and their people with prejudice, civilian or not), but to ensure by every single possible means the persecution of Robin through worldwide propaganda. They went on for decades trying to get her, and still do (her demise was top priority even as late as in their Wano mission).

Like, just calling it bad writing while having the guts of having One Piece in your favorites, at least reread the damn relevant parts to the plot when they come back hundreds of chapters later, it doesn't seem to me you actually care that much for the setup of this favorite manga of yours at all.

1- Usopp always freak out about this stuff from the start. A guaranteed death sentence is not really surprising of a thing to do as such either. It was the usual Usopp scared comic relief moment, and you are nitpicking at this point, it's not a fucking plot hole LOL

2- People calling it peak fiction are hardly part of any argument you may try to make, just say the fanboys annoy you and be done with it.

3- Lastly, this is what can be objectively called great writing, these books were Chekhov's Guns, an extremely apparent example of the The Law of Conservation of Detail (if the books were being thrown into the sea to save their research at all costs, of course later in the story, this very detail will become relevant, instead of being just fluff, aka arguably poor writing, or rather: a plot point that goes nowhere in a story where almost everything important mentioned go somewhere).

Wow!!!
A lot revelation here.
So ohara knowledge was finally saved.
never expected that before ohara incident, the infamous war revolution dragon was a true pacifist who refused to fight and personally knew vegapunk.
and look luffy team is finally the one who will hang out with the original vegapunk.
Also vegapunk chara-design look really like a clone of einstein famous caricatures.
With the CP0 hunt, ask if vegapunk will offer some of his knowledge to the strawhat or even join the crew. Especially since the genius seems a close friend to luffy father.

Wanna point out that Robin's reaction doesn't show a lot of surprise imo. I think that she'd already heard about the possibility of Saul being alive, or came up with the hypothesis after hearing something about a giant in Ohara (likely during her time with the revolutionaries). In this chapter she cries after asking basically "this giant captain... is Saul, right?". So she's happy and teary eyed of course, but seems like more like she's getting confirmation to her theory rather than just finding out about it.

Always nice to see Dragon and this mf Vegapunk looks ugly as hell. Why is his head so big LMAO. I'm gonna have to reread this chapter probably next week because there was a lot of information to pack in.

Even if the books survived, nothing stopped the WG from setting up a couple of ships on alert, if someone showed up or left without permission, have them confront whoever is there. The enemy is stronger? Backup. I personally didn't care for the Usopp thing, what bothers me is that somehow Nico Robin spent two whole years with the revolutionaries and she never re-encounter Jaguar, heard about his recovery (Let's face it, an encounter with a giant is a huge deal, even if that organization is secretive. A legend like a Giant and a freaking D could never have gone unnoticed by Robin of all people)

Absolutely disgusting character. Besides all the other repulsive transhumanist things that we already knew about Vegapunk (including cloning and turning people into cyborgs), now it's revealed that he is in fact working for the government for money, that he created some technology of teleportation, that he probably cut off part of his own head, and that he won't even allow people (that he's supposedly having a friendly conversation with) to walk with their own will, and the son of a bitch is still being portrayed in a positive light, with Robin crying of happiness and thanking him.

To make things even worse, the same boots that he is using to keep people under his control are being portrayed as if they were cool, with Luffy smiling while using them to float. Vegapunk reminds me of the psychopaths who force others to wear a mask, to make them not be able to breathe properly and also to serve as a muzzle to indicate their state of servitude, while telling them that it's to protect themselves and others, and the idiots keep looking up to those psychopaths as if they deserved to be called "scientists" or "doctors".

Sanji is disappointing me here, seeming to be totally powerless in Vegapunk's hands. He should be able to get free from those boots by using Ifrit Jambe. It's absurd to accept to have the movements of your body forcefully restricted and even controlled by another person.

Another thing that makes no sense is how Dragon can be friends with Vegapunk even though they are clearly in opposite sides. Even if the world government wants to kill Vegapunk now, this doesn't change the fact that Vegapunk has been working for the world government for at least 22 years, strengthening it with his technology, which includes cloning and turning Kuma and his clones into cyborgs.

The Albert Einstein of One Piece has finally and truly shown his true flesh, his real appearance, a man with the biggest brain of them all, the ultragigasuperduperlongschlong-like big brain. Seems like Vegapunk, Clover and Dragon are all acquaintances, it also seems that the revolutionary army was not yet a thing back when Ohara was being destroyed with the buster call.

I love the heartwarming talk Robin had with this logic version of Vegapunk, at long last she has come to an understanding of Vegapunk's affiliation with Ohara and the fact that the books from Ohara are now actually being kept safe all the way in Elbaf, the countless knowledge that was thought to be lost are all stored both there and in Vegapunk's unlimited big-brained mind. Seeing Robin cry in relief does put a smile on my face.

Meanwhile, the correct Vgapunk body is, for better or worse, dumber. Lmao, the guy chopped up his brain into several distinct personalities afterall.

One Piece lore is the best. So many reveals, secrets and truths revealed. Saul is ALIVE! Robin's face tearing up from joy brought a smile on my face. Dr.Vegapunk01 knows the secrets of Ohara and the will of Ohara still lives on. Their connection with Clover is what it all happen. Dragon formed the rev. army based on it. Vegapunk didn't become a true lapdog because of it. And the real version of Vegapunk just popped up and he knows about Luffy.
What an insane chapter.
