That specific scene deviated a bit from the manga: Inaukai certainly congratulated Chika before shooting her, but there Chika never had time to walk or take the time to do more than thank the compliment. I suspect it was an attempt at censorship to not show how a girl is shot, although in the manga that part was also implicit. |

While waiting Episode 14 delay i decided to re-watch the series from season 1. Even before I re-watched the series, Mikumo Osamu had earned my personal sympathy. I know that it is not easy for a new agent to beat the veterans who have joined the Border for a long time. But after re-watching the series. I realized more and more how much burden and pressure Osamu was facing. In just a few months he had to go through many changes, from becoming a B rank agent, to leading the team as captain for the first time, and even defeating many veteran teams with his tactics. Nothing but respect to Osamu haha. And about episode 14, everything was perfect in this episode, i couldn't do nothing but smile during these 24 minutes. Although i wish they had shown the post-round discussion. Thank you Ashihara-sensei for this masterpiece 10/10 |

And the commentator mentioned (I think) that they try to lure her to shoot so they can find her. kuroneko99 said: It is also unlikely to send all the team members who are working as Ninomiya's shields to Chika. It seems a forced plot to impose him a weak point. He's generally able to protect him self, and it was a feint that both team members left. One of them tried to ambush Osamu instead, which would have worked if there assumption was correct that Chika still could not shoot people without lead bullets. Then Osamu would be out, propably before attacking and then it would have bean two against Kuga. |

And now the long wait :( I am really surprised that Tamakoma-2 win. I think me like the enemy didn't saw Osamu 4D chess plan coming XD Chika becoming one of my favorites characters in the series, she got a lot of development. And that last scene with her and Hyuse was cute. 9/10 hope Toei come back with the series. |

kuroneko99 said: Gathering in one place where you can be seen without any covering from afar seems absurd, since Chika has the super power to crush everything including buildings and shields in a bombardment. About gathering in one place, Ninomiya needs at least one other squad member to guard him from Osamu's bullets or a lead bullet from Chika when using his full attack mode, and as the commentators said, sometimes Ninomiya uses hound or composite bullets to manipulate opponents into moving in certain ways so that one of his squad mates can corner them when they've escaped the bullet. For these reasons, he didn't have Inukai or Tsuji split up from him until Chika made her shot. As for not having cover, if Ninomiya squad goes between buildings then they could be walking into the wire strategy, they don't know where Osamu could've set wires or not while sneaking around with bagworm on, and they don't know Chika's location or height, so she could have a view point that she can snipe them from with lead bullets while Kuga and Osamu are attacking at the same time, completing the wire strategy. Even if they do take the risk and go between buildings, Chika could demolish multiple buildings between her and them with Ibis anyway, like she has done in past rounds. Staying out in the open allows them to see exactly where she was shooting from, once she has taken the first shot, Ninomiya squad can immediately shoot back at her or send someone to eliminate her if that fails, which is what they did. kuroneko99 said: It is also unlikely to send all the team members who are working as Ninomiya's shields to Chika. It seems a forced plot to impose him a weak point. Both of them weren't sent after Chika, Tsuji only pretended to do that to fool Tamakoma for a moment and attack Osamu instead. As Kuga's side effect revealed, Ninomiya does consider Osamu a threat after what he's seen from him in previous rounds. |

That being said, I'm looking forward to the next season. It's already explained by the commentators in the anime and @Samt_ but I just want to give little addition. It worked on the building match before because they didn't see it coming and they can't escape because they're in a building, even someone who died was just collateral damage. Did you think the Ninomiya squad will stay in place when they see a huge Meteor coming? |

The first point seems plausible because they already got the points they needed for the away trip so it would make no sense for Chika to try fight or hold out until the very end. I think that’s also why the other guy bails out as well instead of fighting the last 2 guys. |

I just don't understand why people liked this season and this ending... This is the worst season so far, by a landslide... - 0 progress, actually 0 progres.... - oke animation (90% of the season was normal animation 10% good 0% amazing) - a 6 year old can think of a better story.... To bad this show had a lot of potential but this entire season should have been 2 episodes... i am giving it a 4. People who actually give this series a 7+ don't watch enough good anime... This is an insult to proper storytelling and the fanbase. |

This is an insult to proper storytelling and the fanbase. I've been following this series since it came out and I'm very critical of it because I want the best for and from it, and while I do agree that direction in this season as a whole was weaker compared to last season (far more inconsistent), I very much disagree on the lack of progress and story telling part of it. This season was great in terms of character growth and focus. For the first time the series took its time to expand on the lives of border agents and how it impacts them and the main characters, which is very important for a series that is asking you to invest yourself in the world rather than to invest yourself on a single character's motivation. The attention to small details to generate foreshadowing and further character motivations without shoving it on your face is also undeniable and I wouldn't call that "bad story telling". Like how Chika shot someone because Osamu's life was threatened, just like how they teased; or how Osamu was able to hide the hound because Inukai guessed Hyuse had too much trion to simply use asteroid, which in turn also comes back to what Kazama told Osamu back in season 1 when he lost, about how he has to consider his own strengths and play around them instead of simply relying on something as uncertain as getting stronger. I can go on, but you get the point, this season was far from having "bad writing", it just had very poor pacing due to direction and inconsistent animation. |

Brilliant season, and exceptionally well done character growth for Chika. Some of the best battles so far, and tons of highlight moments through out the season. Osamu's turn weakness to strength was beautifully executed, and Chika shooting Tsuji was just purely cathartic for her characters arc. Her smile at the end and the team bonding was the perfect Farwell to the last round of the B rank wars. Absolutely adore World Trigger. |

This is an insult to proper storytelling and the fanbase. Do you want another invasion arc to get your blood pumping? Is concluding the longest arc in the entire series just not enough progress for you? Is Chika overcoming her debilitating fear of shooting people not progress? Is Osamu taking down Ninomiya, in front of people who have always doubted and disregarded him also not progress? Everything done by those last 3 episodes would not have been as impactful if it was not for the setup beforehand, convos with Nino Squad, Azuma, Kazuma, Yuba, Hyuse, and Reiji with Usami too. So calling it bad storytelling is very stupid, especially when most shows within this field give up on their side characters after a while and just focus on the main character and beef them up beyond belief. World Trigger is not flashy, that's not its identity, it impresses and shines in creative and fun ways and this season only feels like a continuation of the same good stuff. Sorry for liking it bro. Still though, "People who actually give this series a 7+ don't watch enough good anime" is defo something a 6-year-old would write, gotta give it to ya. |

It’s because she was shocked after her first intentional kill. Look at how confused she was after the compliment, she couldn’t think straight nor put up a fight I concur with your explanation. It makes sense. I was also surprised she did not try to escape/shield/attack at once as these Rank Wars are likely a way to prepare the agents for real life combat in the neighbour worlds. As you said, she was likely numbed by the strong and overwhelming emotion due to the first killing shot. |

I normally don't comment this long after an anime finishes airing, but after finally getting around to finishing this season, I have to say that wow, these last 2 episodes were quite something. Especially episode 13, with its standout animation, but the conclusion to the match in this episode was great. Chika finally shot someone with a real bullet, and Osamu's strategy managed to give him the upper hand and the W just when it seemed like things weren't going to go his way. A hard-fought and well-deserved victory for the Tamakoma squad. Each season of WT has steadily gotten better, and this one was definitely the best so far. Looking forward to the next season, whenever that may be. |

I didn't find the final round really interesting. However other matches were imho better. Animation was much better in this season. I don't find the main characters particular interesting. It's when they interact with other teams the series shines. This last episode was ok, but after won the match they seemed almost not very excited about it. Perhaps they know that everything is just going to get harder after this. |

"To be continued" It really sucks that Ashihara has so many health problems, with a 2 years hiatus and then constant interruption and also moving to a monthly publishing really made it hard to get out chapters so we'll have to wait a lot, just like before, although I'm happy to see the announcement at the end. "We win"... I can't think of a lot of moments in anime that were as amazing as this one was. This third season was truly one of the best in the shounen category, you don't see this amount of strategy. OSAMUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! YOU DID IT!!! Even before the rank wars when Kuga used his "You tell the stupidest lies" line, I knew it will be used in the future for a very big moment and it did here, that moment was so good. And CHIKAAAA!! You did it!!! That was again, such an amazing moment, even with Inukai there, was kind of funny. Now they are tied for 2nd so whenever we'll get season 4, it will be TIME FOR A-RANK WARS, the selection arc!! I really can't wait, see you in 4 years. This was easily the best season, kind of wish there were sad moments, was expecting something related to Replica since that's what it was showed in the opening, but seems like we didn't get it. |

Holy hell, i was screaming the whole time when chika shot her first intentional kill and when osamu helped yuma to kill ninomiya, that was gloriously epic! The character development of s2 and s3 are both insane which showed that they're really trying their best to catch up with everyone and to prove that they can go toe-to-toe with A-rankers which will then prove that they're worthy to take part in the away mission. This show was an epic ride, one of the greatest shounen anime/manga in existence and that's a fact. |

Great finale! Tamakoma-2 were obviously going to be the victors but the real fun lied in the manner in which they'd achieve that. And in that regard, it was certainly worth the hype... Finally Osamu managed to come in with a clutch, thanks to his new move, I hope he will continue to grow stronger as the story proceeds.I suppose Ninomiya-san kind of underestimated Osamu and his teammates in the end.., All in all, this last battle has been fantastic! Toei Animation stepping up on the animation front made it all the more intriguing. They just know their timing. And as always, the commentary to back up the action was spot on... Overall imo 8/10. It's been the most engaging action packed season and I can't wait for season 4! |
