damn this episode was pretty rough, the kidney cells have pretty cool designs ngl. i thought that the cleaning place was gonna be an onsen so i was kinda disappointed when it was just a shower, but its fine lol. rip to that cleaning cell grandma though, at least she saved the other girl. also, the commanding cell guy at the end was right, seems like this body is always relying on antibiotics to fight off the germs... sooner or later the germs might overtake the body; cant wait to see how this turns out.

Kidneys, one of the most intricate organs of the body of flitering blood and urine. If not cared well, the whole body could elapse in both kidney stones and emission of excessive blood, and often the surgery process...I don't want to say how excruciatingly painful it is.

Even worse, the bacteria spawned, if they reach the kidneys, you can kiss your body goodbye with infectious diseases. For AA2153, that's detracting from his RBC role, whilst the other cells execute their roles in a do-or-die fashion.

The sacrifice of the Silent Kidney Grandma is tear-droppingly worrisome, but the Glomeruli must continue their work. A DNA drug, huh, the 1st time I'm hearing of such healing antibiotics.

Every episode, we learn to take care of our body more.

Red Urine, one of the scariest thing that can happen to someone. Having kidney stone hurts a lot. Have had it before and the pain made it a so-much horrible experience.

Another touching death of a respected senior in this episode, oh man, they really give us these a lot of time. But a mentor's sacrifical death will always be remembered by the young ones as a strong motivation to become stronger and stronger.

That antibiotic looks so cool, I hope it can win easily, which it's should with such great design XD otherwise what a waste.

This episode has such a traditional Japanese atmosphere, like Princess Mononoke. There's a bathhouse and grandma was a leader of female workers.

Next episode about Caffeine might be milder, since it's a thing that get consumed by several billions of people, it can't be that bad?????

Life is truly unfair in a body. It's like communism except the person's body is the country. Everyone has a role to play whether they like it or not.

Hmm a bathhouse within the body huh how unusual. Though their role doesn't involve as much travel as the RB cells the role that they do is still important for the body. But man kidney stones huh this body sure is in rough shape. The destruction of the stones also had the unintentional effect of letting the bacteria enter the body huh bad luck indeed. Despite how harsh nature the granny did care for her cells in her way and it was sad to see her perish defending her charges. It was a nice gesture on RB cell's part to give them the chance to mourn for their gran. Overall an interesting ep that combined excellent action, world building and a grim look into the costs that the cells pay as a result of this code black environment.

Seems like that was actually the kidney stone. Kidney Stonegot crushed but the bacteria sure infiltrated the body through the urinary system. All thanks to the WBC and the antibiotic drugs that the body will likely survive another day. RIP to the old lady cell.

well, having too much caffeine can cause side effects like headaches, dizziness, rapid or abnormal heart rhythm, dehydration or even seizures so...

How is this body still alive!

I didn't know kidney cells couldn't regenerate. That's scary!

This body depends on too many medications compared to the body in the original series.

I find it interesting to see how much this body relies on outside input (antibiotics, steroids, the kidney stone destroyer, etc.) compared to the body in original CAW. As expected... it's a lot. The guy's gotta be thankful Japan has free healthcare.

The owner of the body is so lucky modern medicine is advanced enough to save his ass, otherwise he would be completely screwed.

This was the most painful episode by far. Just the sight of the kidney stone tearing the ureter was enough to make me cringe in fear.

I just love how they are using Japanese culture into the design of this body, an onsen like building for the Kidneys and a few episodes back a hostessbar as the Liver.

Honestly, I am fortunate that I have never had kidney stones before, cause this episode surely delivered in explaining how incredibly painful it can be. Big Yikes.

My father had them nasty stones once, he was in so much pain he couldn't even stand and was on his knees the whole time, ambulance had to take him.

He was lucky in a sense that he was able to get rid of them naturally in a few days (so no magic laser) but it was hell still.

With what has already happened, I would not be surprised if the owner of the body died in the end, in the episode he said that the white blood cells are decreasing very fast, leaving his immune system weak, modern medicine is managing to make him alive, but for some time that luck will end

Coffee is something that many people consume daily, it will be interesting to see how they will address this issue in the next episode

Man the Kidney Stones really look terrifying in this. Quite a tough episode to watch since many of the important cells are dying and like one of the cells said " If we barely keep on top of fighting this, then one day we will..."

Also damn, kidney cells can't regenerate? That's kinda scary to know, not gonna lie.

So next episode will be about the effects of Caffeine on our bodies, uh? Looking forward to it since I admit I consume it almost on a daily basis.

Kidney. A silent organ. Even though its classified as one of the smallest organ in the body, its contribution just too big to handle. Because they were filtering all of the rbc, and the damage directly impact the pain. Then, without that place, imagine how dirty our rbc will look like, and how sufferred the owner with all of those damage. And man, show some mercy to those bunch of nice girls at your kidney. They were working in silence, and, yet, never felt any emotion before that infection. So, yeah, in short, fortunately the antibiotics and laser system arrived, to once again, saved the body. Rip older glomeruli cells, and keep working, in silence, y'all ....

Also, man, just, how much the external help that body got from all of those healthy problem, really ridiculous xd. The brain cell looked very anxious with that state of emergency. Instead of the healthier substance, the owner of the body even secreted caffeine as the temporary temptation. Holy shit. Another bad parade for the gangs in the next episode.

The second also, Platelet-chans appeared again closed all of those mess alone. Ofc, still at their 'no matter what' mode. Good respond xd.

Code Black really likes to kill the senpai's gaddamn, that was a great episode. I can't imagine how painful kidney stones are and I don't want to know. This body keeps getting saved by antibiotics, but there's only so much that antibiotics can do.

Looks like were going to get a caffeine focused episode next week. Time to head to the main series to erase the depression.

This episode was very painful to watch. As someone who doen't have this experience, I can tell it's hell. Someone once told me "You shouldn't have these kidney stones. The pain is very sharp" and by that, I can tell it's no joke. Seriously, the kidney is so silent it's scary >_< Intense episode by the way.

Granny Glomerulus pull a heck of a heroic sacrifice....

Messages to take away from this episode:

  • Kidney stones are painful and disgusting af (from the stones themselves and the risk of infection from both passing and treating it)
  • It's ok to cry...

The best episode by far. I don't comment pretty often on this anime as I am kind of conflicted on the tone it tries to set and how it sets it, but when it works, it works great. It hit with the whole feeling of hopelessness from being in a doomed body and it did so well at it.

All things considered, it makes sense because a medical Code Black is a deceased person being taken into the ER from what I read in the medical dictionary. It can refer to other serious crises in a hospital as well including physical threats, infant abductions, bomb threats, things like that. In any case, it's dire.

I thank my lucky stars that I've never experienced what it's like to have kidney stones. The way it's portrayed in this episode makes it look really painful and worrisome. =(

Once again, the host body relies on modern medicine to defeat the bacteria, but the commander T Cell does worry that relying on that option too much might mean that worse crisis in the future will happen.

The way that the kidneys were portrayed as a traditional Japanese bathhouse was a nice touch. It was a shame that the Grandma was killed in the attack, although she did well to protect the younger Glumerulus cell.

Next up will be caffeine, something that everyone consumes daily, although I guess the host body chugs it down like it has gone out of fashion, so we'll see how the side effects are shown next time.

He's not wrong. Using antibiotics means microorganisms evolve to be resistant to them and they're evolving faster than we can make new ones as it is. *Overusing* antibiotics means they evolve even faster than necessary.

China is especially bad about overusing antibiotics. They pass them out like lollipops at a pediatrician's office. It's not unusual for a person to go into a clinic with some sniffles and be given a full course of broad spectrum antibiotics which is kind of like fighting field mice with nuclear bombs.

This episode felt like those videos on the internet of people getting hit in the nuts and you are able to feel the pain they went through. I can imagine the unbearable pain of having a kidney stone ripping through cells walls and I don't like it, especially when they inserted that tube into there.
I wonder what's gonna happen to the white blood cells, it seems like they just keep getting barely saved by drugs and stuff, I wonder if there is gonna be enough white blood cells to hold off the threats or the drugs might not come one day.
