THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I have to admit, this show's school life actually looks fun despite the weirdness going on.

A pretty chill episode actually. Nice to see the girls hanging out together like normal people. But all good things have to go sour. I'm starting to wonder if the story will build up more than the monster-of-the week fights. Sure it looks fabulous with the mecha/monster duels but it's starting to get a little stale too.

Rikka can also be such an airhead.

lol some romance drama going on between Yuta and Rikka there

i wonder if they are lovers before Yuta lost his memories in the first place

Akane and Anti are hilarious and i like Antis moral of not wanting to kill others besides Gridman

and speaking of Gridman they need a powerful computer soon if they want to combine all the other Gridman parts

welp, this is somewhat stagnating. i guess it'll be a couple more episodes of Akane figuring out who's behind Gridman and maybe then this show will progress..

An ep dedicated to characterization if I ever saw any. Even in smaller moments, the characters' personalities shone through. As always Samurai is entertaining, but the rest of the 'high schoolers' are proving to be pretty funny in their own right.

Akane's growing on me too.

Not as cool as other episodes before, but it still had it's benefits in the character department which was nice for a change.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Visuals of the action looked amazing in this episode. Content was pretty good too.

I feel like now it will start to develop a bit more beyond a monster-of-the-week shenanigans. But it will do it slowly.

Damn how good are all these charas on the show. I really love seeing the convo with Rikka and Akane. And how cute and mature could Borr be at the same time.

Also Rikka fixing the PC the old way was fun. XD

Awww, it was cruel to make them all join Gridman just for the junk to freeze up. It was at least kinda clever and pretty funny, also that was a really good Inazuma Kick.

That huge explosion after the air kick with gridman striking a pose reminds me a bit of the Giga Drill Breaker attack from Gurren Lagann, and i like it.

I'm with Gongenzaga 2.0, watching those two is vexing lol

Man its great to see that Hibiki has feelings for her (And I think it may be the same vice versa) and that they brought up his loss of memory again....I stand by my prediction that maybe they were involved with each other in the past :)

Akane continues to get even more petty somehow lol I kinda felt bad for those college guys xD But oh well, I'm glad Akane is continuing to learn from each loss so that's a plus

Great episode overall, loved the fight scenes (Especially the THUNDA KICKUUUUU) and I DIED when they crashed the old computer trying to form their megazord lol

Having those 3 bitch boys get kaiju'd was pretty cathartic. Shame the 4th one got out of there. Maybe he'll get it too if he keeps trying to get into Akane's pants.

Hopefully, there's less petty drama and more action moving forward. I liked the other 3 episodes a lot. This one, not so much.

Goblin Slayer receives much more hate than this show, and I'm pretty sure that Gridman is more popular in Japan. MAL ratings literally mean nothing.

Also, if you care about MAL ratings, Goblin slayer is dropping and Gridman is rising, and by the end of the season I'm pretty sure Gridman is gonna be a mid 7 and goblin slayer a low 7, or maybe even high 6. Of course, Goblin Slayer doesn't deserve half the hate it gets in the West. Lots of loud and angry SJWs.

I like everything about this. It has such a unique feeling of 'nostalgic but looking towards the future.' The way it focuses on the characters and how it's been directed is hard to explain: it's weird, but in a good way. It might not be a lot happening in each episode, but it never feels like it. Also, all of the little subtleties that are too numerous to list...

Now I'm really hoping they don't screw it up.

Nice episode, not as good as the last one tho. The Lightning kick was really something.

I really wonder where will Yuuta and Rikka's relationship go. Seems like Yuuta is really interested in her, but what about Rikka?

Another good episode! It's interesting that Rikka, and Akane were close before; I wonder how she got this 'power', and became so deranged. I'm also hating her abuse towards Anti; but well, Rikka was on the right track when she questioned why that Kaiju would be attacking so directly those youtubers instead of wreaking havoc like before, but she ended up thinking that she somehow attracts them. Yuuta's crush on her is cute too, and I'm rooting for him. I just love Calibur too, and his friends are also nice.

yet another lackluster and quite predictable episode. Being episodic/m-o-t-w is fine by me but watching so many still images is getting too old quick and feels like all the budget goes to mecha battles, which is awesome but do not last long tho. And the nonsense mysteries doesn't stop and increasing more which either I find myself laughing or getting too bothered. Also other than Calibur, main characters have not been anymore interesting yet aside from their introductions..

This episode was alright. Not as good as the previous 2 but better than episode 1.

The fight scenes look much better now. The animation is fine however nothing is really standing out to me except for some of the character designs. The music has been the most consistently great thing about the show

Is anyone else starting to hate the MC? I think him and his friend are pretty boring and uninteresting. I thought the whole stalking rikka/akane part of the episode really bad. I find the memory loss aspect kinda stupid but hopefully the explanation behind it will be reasonable.

Honestly I feel like Rikka and Akane are the only good characters so far. Everyone else feels so dull compared to them. Hopefully the plot picks up the pace more, the m-o-t-w stuff is starting to get stale.

Good episode today, apparently Akane and Rikka were friends, at least it seems, although the personality of Akane is still horrible. Apparently Anti will receive a blow to the face every time he meets his creator, in addition Akane already suspected that Yuuta is a gridman, although she still needs to confirm it.
Apparently Yuuta likes Rikka, and the guys at N.G high know it, Max tries to talk to Yuuta so he can regain confidence.
Akane again creates a Kaiju to eliminate people who annoy her, but Gridman appears and the battle begins, but Anti also appears to fight against Gridman, this is where the NG high boys come into action, but both Gridman and the guys freeze, but RIkka using the "old method" manages to reboot the PC and so Gridman returns to the action defeating the Kaiju.
Today's episode served quite well for the development of Yuuta and Rikka, also gave information related to the world where the boys are (the theories of many people is beginning to take shape) I also intrigued to know what happened between Akane and Rikka in the past, the same between Yuuta and Rikka, they would have had some relationship, or they were close before Yuuta lost his memory.

Uhh, the show needs more development story-wise. how long before Akane figures out who's behind gridman?

First thing first, the important stuff (Pretty spoiler tag to keep things clean).

So glad we are getting more and more of Akane's feet and Rikka's thighs hehe.
This episode was pretty good. I really like that relationship the main cast has with Akane, she acts so clueless around them but also harshly direct, I just wonder why people killed by kaijus are either forgotten or memories about them are changed.
Also Yuta developing feelings for Rikka, finally a main character making good choices but anyway I wouldn't've cared about a Yuta x Akane.

A lot of people make their seasonal choice based on MAL rating. If it has a low rating, then thing gets harder for it to reach a broader audience, which means studio that's making good stuff will be earning less than studio that's making shit, and so we will be seeing more and more similar shit being produced because they are rewarded by the market.

Quite enjoying this anime, because its just interesting and chill. At first, I thought it was dumb because of several "mc always wins no matter what" scenarios, but then Gridman was actually defeated once. And of course Rikka, nothing to say there.

Another episode, and I still can't see how people are enjoying this. Sure, the characters are great, and seeing them interacting is pretty fun (and since this episode focus more on the characters than the previous ones, I upgrade from 4 to 5), but that's about it. The lack of soundtrack on normal moments makes everything look tedious, even if you try to watch this like a drama. And when the soundtrack finally kicks in, it's just a generic childish music that just make you want to have silence again. The story so far is really boring, trying to make some mysteries that look more like lazy writing (most of those mysteries are probably never gonna get a solution, they're just there to make some situation happen on the show). And I can't watch those fight scenes without rolling my eyes.

Isn't anyone talking about the very good direction here? The atmosphere, the shots, it felt ominous, it felt weird, it felt mysterious
I really like this show, i think that the interaction between Akane and Rikka is not only the main theme of the show, but also its strongest feature(Alongside the Animation)
I hope two things
1.More characterization, i want to know these characters, i like them
2.I hope they pay off this Amazing direction and the mystery surrounding whatever Akane is talking to

it might also explain why the fight was on the background this time but man ... that lightning kick though ...

Also, that glitch was quite the unexpected situation I wouldn't forsee lol. I'm sure they're keeping it for the end !

- im glad that boy band members are dead.. at least 3 of them..
- Yuta realize his feeling toward Rika.. but damn, just like Max said : it was pain in the ass to see their relationship.

I lack the means to express what's so damn fun about this show, but damn is it so much fun. It occurred to me this episode that this show bears a remarkably similar vibe to Eden of the East, especially in that everything is strikingly relaxed and chill despite the disastrous nature of the events occurring around the characters.

I haven't been so invested in an anime in quite some time.
