Solid season 2 minus that last post credit scene which felt very out of place. Felt like they just dropped a lot of material and jumped straight to the "this girl wins" ending. Didn't really feel it since Uruka relationship wasn't developed as much, and they really pushed Fumino this whole season. I guess that was their way of saying no season 3 for this series.

Well I watched it for the comedy and Rizu's boobs so it was a fun ride.

Well, I think they choose for the best. See, this kind of anime is a non-stop with their fans will always begging for continuation (especially if their favourite waifu has highest chance for win). So, end it once for all is kind of good choice.

If there is something I must dissapoint of this season is lack of Kirisu-sensei. Just it. Overall, I enjoy it.

After having done a bit of research I understand, why people are mad about the ending. However - given that they only did two 13 Episode-Seasons it would have taken a lot longer for them to develop the characters how the manga seems to have done.
TBH if you "just" take the Anime it was probably the most likely outcome.

But that is just one big problem I personally have with 13 episode seasons, which try to crush down the huge time/effort the story takes just to have an "ending". (reminded me kind of like George RR Martin probably told the ending to HBO without telling them how to get to that point). I would have prefered them spending more time with the characters, which means more episodes/more seasons until they dropped the ending on us, but oh well.

Although (for me) the final pairing made the most sense to me (as a family man he made the best choice, even having researched a bit of the manga stuff IMHO) - there are some characters that got shafted in terms of how little time was spent on them, making them little more than supporting cast. As personally I am not a huge fan of harem-type shows I really liked this anime, because almost all of the characters are pretty much likeable in their own way and are very charming to watch.

I am still trying to give the show a rating - if I just rate it as a slice-of-life-ish romance anime (ignoring the "harem" tag, because most of the girls don't seem to have more than a bit of a crush on him in the anime) I would say - a perfectly nice 8/10, however seeing all the missed potential now, I am not so sure. I understand the angry manga fans (although the Sensei-Shippers still feel kind of weird to me tbh - but that is just me, seeing how popular she is)

tl;dr:
For Anime only watchers this was the most likely outcome. More time was needed to develop characters/feelings and the ending itself felt like it jumped/skipped quite a long time ahead (which it did - for some reason. From what I can gather this anime was very popular?).

Chapter 1. Lots of materials truncated, recurring character removed, chronology changed. Including parts from adapted chapters - for instance, part of the swimming pool side conversation between Nariyuki and Uruka which might play significant role if non-canon anime ending becomes canon in the manga.

So implication that Uruka is the champ? I would be ok with her winning, she's a little obnoxious but has that hot, sporty tan and body. Too bad she will be making the rounds with the Aussie boys since Yuiga didn't snatch her up.

This is actually the most disappointing ending to a romance series I've seen. Not because the ending is illogical in any way. I mean Uruka winning makes sense given the longstanding ties between him and Nariyuki, but there's just not a lot of setup to this, especially considering how Nariyuki was still going on everyone's route during the festival. Plus, I thought it was a massive waste for them to have developed all these characters so well only to trash it all with such a rushed ending. If you got a trash harem series at least you wouldn't care, but BokuBen has been pretty quality overall in my opinion.

If their goal was to force people to go read the manga though they might have succeeded. This was so deeply unsatisfying of a resolution.

There is no excuse for that trash ending. It's because the author revealed the end girl, probably? Everything in the manga shows that Uruka has the best chance of being the end girl but the anime could really do without this trash of an ending.

[Link: The point where anime deviates from the manga.] << This is immediately after Fumino arc (Fumino arc happens after the festival arc).

I'm whatever about the ending and even kinda find it sweet. Still, they really took a lot of time making the anime focus on Fumino at some point, so it just seems odd to sum up the series like that. At least have a meaningful Uruka arc and THEN follow up with this ending. I dunno.
I guess they were probably thinking, "People get mad when an anime doesn't pick a 'winner' in harem anime, so I guess let's just hurry up and throw someone in".

I actually don't care about how faithfully an anime follows a manga and am actually totally fine with an anime kinda going their own way-- I'm always up for an alternate version on these types of things. However, ending with an actual "winner" might not be the best idea. Now I can only assume that Uruka won't end up with Nariyuki in the manga. Who knows though, right?

They could have done that better.

Also, I guess just because they held hands during the fireworks doesn't actually mean they'll be together. It's just a superstition after all.

Check the link I gave above your post. You lose nothing clicking on it because it is exactly after the content where the anime story following the manga ends - i.e. before the anime original post credit part.

Only then you will realize why the anime ending is utter garbage.

While they picked up right off from the first season, this season didn't actually had much more to offer either if I'm honest.

While it still was fun to watch, there was sadly no proper closure in my honest opinion.

But a good watch either way!

I'm sorry, but after watching the anime and analysing there hairstyle, it can't be Uruka.

Uruka had strands sticking from below, the silhouette of the girl had hair that was straight.
So i'm calling it his sister or his mother (who came late).

But saying that, he responded friendly, but didn't give a name, so whether that's what scripers doing (to keep the person a secrete) or it is a different girl that he doesn't know, he even gives that look on (who was that girl just then) look and looks among the 5 possible girls (including his sensei).

No. It is Uruka. No way it is not Uruka. See the departure scene in the airport again. The entire point of the airport scene and the contemplating by looking on their hands by both of them means only one thing. I mean just look at my signature. How can it not be her?!

All I can say is, the title of this anime "We never learn" was a damn lie

I wish they had more serious arcs for the other girls, this end was kind of rushed and it was pretty obvious who the mystery girl is

I hope there will be a 3rd season because this end didn't really feel satisfying with Fumino having the most romantic progress while some of the other girls are more treated like joke characters (kirisu-sensei for example)

Your answer is in the manga. Each girl has a serious (and quite beautiful) arc. Especially Sensei and Senpai's arcs. The anime only adapted the first one which happens to be Fumino. Also, Sensei is an amazing character. Unless you read the manga, you will never know.

Also, how do you know the identity of the mystery girl? The anime gave away nothing but then that stupid airport scene happened.

Ah yes thanks for informing me, I already read on the forums that the anime adaptation is quite a bit different from the manga
I meant the thing with the mystery girl more in the sense of that the airport scene gave it away without explicitly saying that it was Uruka rather than from what was shown in the firework scene that you could deduct that it was Uruka

I can understand at the end on when Uraka helps him up from off the floor in the airport, but that could be looked at as "that will be the last time I touch, hopefully not the very last" moment.

Really enjoyed season 1, liked season 2 even more.... but that ending did not sit well with me. Even though I was firmly on the Uruka train, I don't think that ending was earned. With the way the season progressed, having it be Furuhashi felt like the only logical way to go.

Guess I know which manga to tackle next....

Well I guess no more season 3. But honestly this season was pretty average so I am glad they ended it here. It just felt boring and episodic for the most part unlike the first season which had a good buildup. I didn't really see any character development except for Fumino maybe or any story progression. It was also disappointing that the story just gave up on Rizu entirely in this season with the addition of Sawako and tried to take Uruka out of the picture with the scholarship thing. And all this just to make way for Fumino. And this is why the ending made no sense.

Beside every controversial way to end this show with an original anime ending, i must say, the overall was good. Do not forget about the OVA too, maybe i will refresh some of my Memories through that 2 final videos. I am attach or called a fan of every single heroine here. Because i thought all of them just give at the same amount of the screen time. More balance to the screen-time just the best you can do to giving more strength to the harem genre flag point of your show. We Never Learn Anime did this well. I must left aside the ending credit as the bonus scenes like the OVA do later. Cause my end for the story progression was the Festival Arc last scene. And for the plot story ending, they just finished the whole reason why the group up: study well, and ended up at their favourite university or live. Yeah, my point here just complete, at last, they now how to finish the premises, the whole reason why this show be born from the start. If only they do more enjoyable amount of romance scenes, this show must be at my 10. But no, all of the romanctic event paced to fast. And somehow i feel they just not combined too well. Like a puzzle, the parts are still missing at some side, and you cant do anything to complaint it sinte the parts were never exist.

Yes, this is my point of view to the romantic view over the whole show. Why this show cannot be 10? Lack of romance detail, not a complete one. Hell, even some scenes come and gone with so much rushed. I must say its balance the all girls too much, and it great to end to that point, in the sarcastic tone. Yet, i can't just give this whole series below 8, why? Beside the lack of the amount of great scene reveal, the adaptation attempt was fail at most part (my feel after reading some comments here and there), the ending just sucks, all premises ended well. This is my solid point. We Never Learn, being a basic main story i ever watch at my whole Rom-Com world. After watching some 4 or 5, just this give me a satisfy reason to enjoy the whole plot. At plot or story progression, the end fit well to the main idea. Yeah, just it, and i may think all of the scene just for the sake of the plot setting. Even all of the girls that come here, just for your wild mind, no more (keep in mind this is for anime only, far from source, gone with sarcass phrase).

Then, what else i can get? The show is over. Finally conclude itself well with only 26 episodes. Just a great way to be a masterpiece, with lack of detail attached. Yet, maybe some people thought that was a dumb idea. For me, it just a wise decision. I respect the way studio think about how the show end. I feel the steam, almost had the same mind about this whole series. But still, if only the flow not being too harsh, this little show must be 10. Nor with my expectation, and for the respect to the main idea that somehow finish with controversial end, 9 shall be better than writing a toxic sentence.

Ended.

It's pretty rare for harem anime to have guts to reveal "the only one" girl in the end. And it's even more rare that it's actually best girl in series since others just pretend to be in love when they just had their first such experience with challenge circumstances.

The Festival arc ended pretty well, every character was happy and the timeskip at the end was a bit surprising since I hoped they would develop more Kirisu and Kominami in a possible s3 but it seems that the anime (and the story overall) ended here. It was meh.

An improvement during the second half of this season. I liked the conclusive ending but I wish it had started well since the first episode cuz some episodes from there were really annoying rather than funny. 5/10 for the anime.

(I'm going to watch the two OVA later)

DAMN AMBIGUOUS ENDING! Nice to see them having all grown though in just a years time. Uruka with longer hair and a fuller, slightly taller bod...NOICE! Chibi Big Boobs Udo girl was a good inch or two taller. NOICE! Maid girl was an a good couple inches taller...meh... Tall chick was barely taller but her hair was different...meh.
Team Uruka and Chibi OPPAI UDON FOR ME ALL THE WAY! BUT STILL DAMN YOU ENDING! IT was a nice franchise: had complexity, well drawn characters. THe females were not just vapid idiots but had their own hopes, dreams and personas and goals. As a former slightly okay looking dude that had chicks chasing me...I approve. 7 out of 10 for both seasons!
And did anyone notice the random non japanese dude with a beard in the airport when Yuiga was running to meet with the gals? Neat. ^~^ REDHEADS!!!!! FTW!

I don´t fucking care how the manga ends. Because that manga is the most easy and convenient way to end the series. But this time the mangaka had his head cold and ended it the best possible way: Making him end up with one with that clear clue. I am just going to say something: Not the horrible-written Kirisu, not the best-friend Asumi, not the nice loli Ogata, and not the also-great Fumino... URUKA WON
