Ah yes, so this is up again.

Food battles are as dramatic as ever, with a bunch of foodgasms thrown in. I don't mind though.

Well, I think I am going to watch this.

This isn't a spoiler, but the story goes so downhill from after this arc. Like it is almost unanimously hated by the fan base. Obviously I am not going to spoil anything, just a warning.

I mainly decided to watch anyways hoping for some good OST and animation. Sadly, looks like J.C.Staff is still looking bad animation wise (talking about you DanMachi season 2).

Wasn't crazy about OP as well.

Kinda generic start (ie. nothing groundbreaking) but I'm glad the series is back. I guess the tough battles are still yet to come.

Wonder if this is one-cour, two-cour or split cour again though. From OP and ED seems like this arc is all it covers (which is sad as I always prefer standalone eps compared to long arc). But let's see where exactly this will all go.

It was alright. Pacing was fast, the iconic slideshow animation is back, as well as the JoJo-like commentary. Opening was meh, it's similar to all the other openings. I'll watch it just for the time that i've already put into this show and that Kobayashi chick

This has to be the laziest made episode of something I’ve seen in while. Such a lack of animation and overuse of boring, one-colour backgrounds. I heard the stuff being adapted would be worse but the production on this first ep was horrible.

I have missed the craziness of this anime.

Alligator meat? African Ramen? Green tea? This show is amazing.

i thought the pacing on one of the previous seasons (2nd season i think?) was all over the place but then there's this! not even Food Wars is immune to JC Staff's messy shtick

It seems that I missed this show more than I expected, I really enjoyed this episode, I'm glad it's back.

Panning shots are also back but I don't think they affect this show too much. My problem comes, like with last season, with the pace. It was fine at first or at least I didn't notice it being so fast until we got to the ramen guy flashback where everything started to go really fast and I really hate that :/

The one who's not back is Risa Taneda, it really sucks that she never came back. I remember that before her illness she was everywhere and now we barely hear her, that really saddens me. :(

Damn Rindo going completely crazy again ^^ so fun to watch her

Megishima's duel with Soma was interesting too.. Though I felt like I was watching any shounen protagonist but Soma lol

And.. I mean there's no way Kuga is gonna win

This is a nice change of pace after watching Seven Deadly Sins S3 average episode 1. Good to see all the characters back and continuing the Shokugeki team battle. The ridiculous reaction after each meal tasting can never gets old. I'm guessing the rebels will lose the 2nd bout since both 1st and 2nd seats are in this round.

I really liked how it just started to where we left off last time. Seeing what motivated Megishima to join the fight was really great even though it was clear that he would be losing to Rindo. About the other two matches, it's pretty obvious that Tsukasa will win against Kuga but I can see the chance that Mimasaka will win against Saito.

I enjoyed it but the slideshow op was awful. though, nothing beats braver for me.

Imagine how much a different studio could do with proper CGI movement, blended in beautifully, thinking of kakegurui's smooth hands and shuffling (while noticeable, not awful) or the way Demon Slayers combat has been implemented.

The cooking battles could be so intense with a lot of movement but honestly, there is such a lack of overall movement in not just the op but overall. Ugh.

Overall:
Great episode (9/10), bleh OP (3/10...maybe it'll grow on me??), awesome ED song (10/10)!

I thought with DanMachi S3 that J.C would be back to not too bad animation, but looks like I was wrong. That battle with Soma was just like wut

But here comes the so called worst arc (or was it the one after?), interesting to see how much it'll flop (if it does)

The worst arc is the arc after this one. The arc we are in now is pretty good

This episode was fast paced, but I think it worked because of what it focused on. We don't need to drag out how they convinced Megishima to join them. It's the usual Soma method. That aside, I guess I misunderstood this Shokugeki. I didn't know people could compete more than once.

Also I spotted Shinomiya in the opening, does he actually appear? I love that jerk despite only being in 5 episodes so far :v

Finally SNS is back, i truly miss this show!

I am really happy that the animation haven't changed, thanks god!

And also it started on fire, and after one episode i am already in the SNS vibe, i can't wait for mor eof this, damn!

Was really interesting the flashback about how Souma conviced Meguishima to participate in team shokugueki!

Kuga asked Tsukasa to fight him in next battle, what a man, lets see what will happen!

Damn, Rindou is so awesome, she is just using an aligator for a dish, and her skill are truly fascinating, and her image as barbaric was just so good and hot, damn!

And i missed os much their personality and their expression that express really well their personalities!

It ended with a clifhanger, like all episodes of this epic show!

You know as tedious as this arc gets, its still got the spirit of the series and alot of fun character moments, how fucking bad this is gonna end really has made me retroactively appreciate what little of this show's quality is still here.

And oh man if this season is a split cour like s3, then holy shit how low is the next cour's score going to be, I would be surprised if it ended up at like a 6.5 or lower

The most boring looking anime is back. I've seen hentai with more interesting and creative direction and cinematography (and with actual animation) than this cheap ass literal animated manga. Couldn't care less about anything that happened in this episode. Fuck this shit. I'll marathon the rest of this trash after the season is done.
