I also said ,, In my first post "The style and animation are really unattractive boring and bland ,, The story is tedious and uninteresting ,,,This episode was a drag searching for paper to write on.....She chose the wrong fucking time age,,, To search for books ,, and now she want to write her own books? What?" | Another slow episode with little animation. I guess we're stuck with a low budget. It does seem to be a slice-of-life show at it's heart. マイン wants to write a book if she can't buy any, but before that she needs to acquire paper, which is more difficult than it sounds: it's very expensive. However, she does manage to get her hands on a mini-chalkboard that she's using to start to learn the characters of this new world. Everything else was just slice-of-life stuff: cooking, washing hair, minor crush stuff, but it's all so slow that it just becomes rather boring to watch. I don't think this show will improve much in the ways I want it to, but I don't completely dislike watching it either, so I'm not going to drop it just yet, apparently it's going to be 14 episodes. |

| I really like this show. I love that, even though she was older before she reincarnated, she still has to work with the brain of a 5 year old, which means she forgets stuff and can't go Senku in this world. She might be 'old' for a 5 year old, but she is still a child. It is so fascinating how they depict her weak body in a way that is not just a gimmick, but a problem with real consequences. The artstyle is simplistic, but working. This might be a cost cutting measure, to keep animation cost down (it is easier to animate less detailed characters), but this way is preferable over slideshows or still shots and the style is still fitting for the show. Maine is the least cute character in this show, because we know what is inside that body, but the characters around her are heartbreakingly cute. From her mother that carries her to give her a chance to see the market and not have her alone at home, to the friends that help her every step of the way. The only critique I have so far is the romance thing, because if you ever had contact with 5 year or even 7-8 years olds, romance is still very far away for kids that age. I hope they don't push that whole thing not too far. For me this show is the better Dr. Stone. The story concept might be a lot more generic, but I prefer the toned down realistic vibes over the superhuman that has all steps for creating penicillin in his head while counting seconds and the completely over the top characters. |

| it feels like the story if going to a slow crawl, which makes some scenes boring as they seem to drag out. Anyway, I enjoyed a "slow" anime in the past which is Spice and Wolf. So I'll give this two or three more episodes before deciding to drop or continue. |

| Just started watching this show & am catching up with the first 3 eps. IT IS AMAZING. this is how isekai anime should be done. I've seen the comments about the lack of pretty women, but hey, there are plenty of other anime out there with pretty women. This is all about a Japanese bookworm that wakes up one day in another world as a girl called Main (I though it should be Myne, but it was spelled out in the 2nd ep as M-A-I-N, so ok). Can't wait towatch her journey. |

| Had already dropped this show after the first episode because it seemed boring and the art style seemed clunky and too cartoonish, but decided to give it a second chance after hearing from Mother's Basement, and I must say I was mistaken. Animation's okay, nothing special. But interesting story and premise. That line where Myne says how happy she is just being able to write really puts into perspective how the modern world takes writing for granted, especially in countries where education levels are high. Looking to see more. I gotta say though, what's the reasoning behind their "m" and "a" looking so similar like how "w" is double "v"? For the latter (ours), there are historical reasons with the /w/, /v/, and /u/ sounds all being connected, but /m/ and /a/ are pretty far... |

| I certainly enjoyed this episode more than the last. However, at this point I still find Myne interacting with and learning about the world more interesting than her desire to read/write books. We will have to see if that changes. |

There are some moments when I actually find her very cute (like in that whole scene with the slate), and then I remember she isn't a child discovering new things, but a young woman having an obsession with books to the point of not thinking of anything other than them. And that's suddenly much less endearing. There's also the fact that the way people react to her still don't make sense. They do not at all question the fact that she doesn't behave the way she used to (the original Mybe having a similar personality would make even less sense), and they never question how she comes to know some things, like shampoo. That's a pretty big plot-hole, isn't it ? Aside from Myne, I also have an issue with Lutz. Apparently, he's 5. IN WHAT WAY IS HE 5 ?! He has the voice and the behaviour of a teen, the only thing about him that is 5 is his body, are you kidding me ?! And of course it is very ironic to see how Myne is a more convincing toddler than him, even though she isn't that convincing either. And of course there are also issues like the animation or the bland backgrounds... But I guess the lack of budget is to blame here. There are still some things that make me enjoy the show. Myne's character might not be incredibly endearing due to her real age, but at least she is quite fun. And I'm looking forward to see if whether or not the original Myne will be brought up at some point, or simply if her physical condition will play a role in the story. In the end, Myne being revived as an already existing sick child seems to be the most interesting part of this show, though it clearly isn't the focus... |

Yeah, Myne's obsession with books is really strange. I agree with you on that. All children from that world begin to work at the age of 7, so it's pretty normal to behave like that at that age. And 90% of the things you are concerned about will be answered. |

She's certainly not a vegan, considering she ate the soup containing sausages derived from the butchered pig toward the end of the episode and even remarked on it being tasty and enjoying it. It's just indicative of a mindset a lot of modern folk have - especially in advanced, developed countries of the first world (such as Japan, U.S., etc.), where people are increasingly separated from the chain of production of their meals and food products. A lot of people with this mentality who aren't vegan or even at all vegetarian consume meats like beef, pork, chicken, and turkey regularly with no qualms, but are viscerally repulsed by the sight of blood and of hunting and harvesting meat. There's a huge cognitive dissonance going on. This was probably just chosen to accurately illustrate modern sensibilities for a girl of Myne/Urano Motosu's age/era. |

Hahaha, talk about dense but cute and adorable! lol this is kids were talking about... 😅 I'll die laughing when Maine's dad got jealous of Otto, his co-worker. 🤣 I'm happy for Maine to be able to write and read again, at least on her slate anyway... 😅 Maine is so cute and adorable at the end when she forgot something. | "Ottou-san, daisuki!" This episode officially won me over. The blend of lighthearted antics & Myne's constant doses of culture shock are drawing me into this world. While I look forward to Myne's journey to reading a book, I'm actually more immersed into how she's beginning to adapt to everyday life. |

| @Fafette I swear half of all asian media would just be better if they aged up every character by 5 years. All of these kids acting like they are at least 10~12 minimal and that isn't even getting into all the thousands of other animes with supposed 13~16 year olds in all sort of adult vocations such as being in the military or something |

| I thought the episode would end on an endearing moment where Myne enjoys the meal that her entire family worked all day to make while she played and drew irrelevant squigglies all day... "Nah, this soup kinda sucks" We of course need to be reminded how insanely entitled she is. What an disgustingly unlikable MC. |
