I loved the first part.

The part of Tanjiro and Kanao was really cute.

I'll miss this.

Changed to 8/10 after reconsidering the score.

I was floating between a 9 and 10 for a while but the final half of this episode settled it on a 10 for me. My main gripes were both Zenitsu & Inosuke personalities being way to over the top, but seeing them toned-down towards the later half of this episode made me hopefully this is them for the future on wards, they went from me hating them to me just being okay with them and thats fine for me.

9.5/10

Been waiting for muzan butchering the lower moons scene. This is the scene where his real personality is shown. Seriously, anyone who thinks muzan might be sympathetic, wipe that thought from your mind. He is a grade A jackass
Not a jackass just a coward. He uses the demons to defend himself from the demon hunters and to help him find a way to resist sun light. He is scared of death.

Both I think, a jackass and a coward. What a great combination

I'm glad it's finally over. Shouldn't have listened about the later hype arcs and dropped it sooner. Because there wasn't much about them that I could have said it was worth it.

Yes, the anime had its moments, beautiful music and animation, Tanjiro as a character and his dynamic with Nezuko. But overall, I'm not impressed. There's not much to the story to keep me interested and the annoying characters really threw me off.

The comedy was absolutely not necessary. Even the artstyle seems more jarring at times. I'm not a fan of too colorful things but at least it had a unique feel to it at first. Now though, it just seems to go so well with the comedy part of the anime, which is the worst part ever, and by default, even serious parts don't seem serious anymore.

So since there's not much I can care about in this show anymore, there really is no point in watching further. Maybe I could appreciate the diverse battle scenes but really, that's not something I can genuinely look forward to. I'm happy for those who can still enjoy it though. It's just sad that it had the potential to become more mature and special but instead became quite a standard battle shounen only with beautiful visuals to boot.

That was a phenomenal last episode, insanely good direction for the Lower Moon slaying and TanjirouxKanao scene.

That last portion was really great at hyping the upcoming arc, tho I'm a bit unsure about the movie thing, I really would have liked to experience it weekly.

I must say that the writing quality improved a looooooot for the last 4 episodes, going through episode 8 to 17-18 was a bit painfull because of pacing, repetitivness and overall really uninspired storytelling.

Even tho there was clearly an empty zone in the middle, I want to give this season a solid 8/10 because the lasts episodes were really really good and made me regret it was over.

Congrats on Ufotable for making this gorgeous-looking show.

The art and animation in this episode were amazing, especially on the first part in Muzan's hideout. Gotta hand it to Ufotable, they sure know how to do 3D backgrounds and blend them with 2D characters. Unlike other studios, they use CGI to create stunning, complicated scenes that you couldn't get with traditional animation, not just as a cheaper substitute.
It's sad that the sequel will be a movie, though. It means that if we get a 2nd season it won't be until 2021, at the very least. Here's hoping that the show has done well enough to guarantee more seasons in the future.

Most overrated show I've ever seen. Characters were boring, Zenitsu especially was the worst character i have ever seen. The animation and sound production though was stellar and the show had it's moments, but i don't think it's a 10/10 like everyone seems to think. I can't even put it close to the level of something like Hunter X Hunter. 7/10 for me, average shounen done by a very good studio.

It was quite an enjoyable ride but I was disappointed that they made the last episode shorter because I felt it was rushing a bit. However I really liked the background where Michael Jackson-sama was killing the demons. Reminded me of Tanjiro facing off the bongo demon from episode 11.

Which harem? This is not that type of series. The author is a woman so the MC won't have a harem. Even in the manga, only Kanao shows romantic interest for Tanjiro. Admiration =/= love.

‪Can’t believe it’s been 26 weeks and Kimetsu no yaiba is over, what a journey man. I remember writing it was going to be anime of the year on the “Gurenge” YouTube video’s comment section back in February and getting laughed at. Then episode 19 hit and everyone jumped on.‬ This sub went from 2-4K when I joined to now over 45 and will probably reach 60-70k by the end of the year. That’s mad!

I don't get it, how the government and all the people don't know anything about the demons? It's not like that they are ghosts or something. EVERYONE can see them, the are walking around freely and kill humans. The demon slayers and the demons have supernatural abilities. How are they not recognized by the government and how do they not know about their existence? Tons of humans must have encountered demons in the past hundred years.

It is a shounen for young kids as young as 7 years old so you can't expect this to be mature or complex. If you want mature stuffs, go to seinen or josei. It is simple and entertaining and that is enough for it to be successful. It serves its intended audience well.

Kanao x Tanjiru, lol

Also, they never showed what Nezuko is doing during the training... all we saw was her sleeping the entire time... (except for that time when she "spoke" which might just be Tanjiru's imagination)

It's the same as IRL...

Do you think Ghost hunters and/ or Exorcists of all kinds (Priests, Miko, Shamans) are officially recognized by the government as official professions? (ones that allow them to have official benefits of working, such as tax deductions, insurances, etc etc)

The only superstitious that's fully recognized by the government (at least in the USA) is Christianity Priests. This is only because it's the religion that the founding father/ colonies believed in, if it was something else, today the majority of USA would believe in something else.

(this is evidenced by the 2011 incident of 100 million USD AD campaign for "rapture" that ended up as fake. (majority of the money was obtain by donation of the people, but the government actually provided a % of money because majority of the government believed in that religion too)

Now, if you try to do some sort of "Ghost Hunters" and asked the government to make it a official profession and requested millions of funds... what do you think would happen?

That is one of the best shounen anime i've ever seen and it is definitely going to become a classic, up there with anime like Naruto or One Piece!

I thought this episode was a perfect ending to the series in the way it gave closure of the previous arc, introduced the next villain, set up for the next arc and also gave us a nostalgic look back at Tanjirou and Nezuko's journey so far.

I'm so thrilled with the news of a movie but if i'm honest i'm disappointed that a season 2 wasn't announced instead. That said i'm sooo fucking happy for more of this awesome anime and the chance to get to know the Flame Pillar Hashira!

As usual, top, top notch art, choreaography and animation. The first 10 minutes with Muzan and the demons was spectacular. When this series is good, it can be really good. But lets face it, the story is pretty stock shounen. I'd be willing to forgive that, but a couple of the characters and their horrifying voices and attitudes severely detracted my enjoyment whenever they were on screen. So a point less on my score for that.
Look forward to the movie when it comes out.

Kimetsu no yaiba is the only series that takes you from a bloody moment to a calm warm atmospheric!

Muzan is the most ruthless villain I've seen in a long time, the way he annihilated his subordinates was really merciless! I expected him to keep that one who came up with that blood suggestion, but hell no! I didn't know he could shape shift too, that form was beautiful though. I certainly liked that moment of Kanao and Tanjiro, her voice was really beautiful too. Too bad Tanjiro's head is on his sister, otherwise I ship those two dearly. That certainly left us hanging, because I really wanted to see that fight.

This was one of the best anime this season, although I fucken know it started from last season, so no need to correct me. But it continued this season, so I will judge it accordingly with this season's anime. The art was definitely mindblowing and very unique, the battle action scenes were the best of all, the story line was tops, it lived up to the hype. But I fucken hated the comedy of this one, and didn't feel the trio of Zenitsu, Inosuke and Tanjiro - they didn't gel well together for me. Nezuko had less screen time than those two and I hated it. The other thing I hated, was Tanjiro constantly describing his pain on an episode, like dude we see how much you in pain, you don't need to describe it to us for sympathy! And I hated they left us hanging like that, fuck them for that, movie my ass!

Although stoic and had less screentime, Tomioka was my favorite character along with Kanao! Fuck Shinobu!

8/10.

Sorry but the pacing in this show is all over the place. When it is serious is freaking amazing but when they throw those moments where they are resting and comedy they feel so forced. More with characters like the blondie screaming for every single thing, he acts like a generic guy from any stupid ecchi show and the big bimbo Kana Hanazawa was voicing with poor YuGiOh commentary but 10x worst about pointless stuff that everyhing she was saying was just filler.

Not really looking to the sequel or even reading the manga. But it has some really good stuff.

I disagree, it's not for 7 year olds. Yeah, I can't complain about the genre fitting into a genre. But there is nothing wrong with hoping it could somehow step outside of it too. And it's not like it wasn't giving off that impression in the first place.

Seriously, it was really fine in the first half of the series when it was focused more on just Tanjiro and Nezuko. It was still shounen but it wasn't something I could deem as typical or childish. But then it degraded to the unnecessary comedy and lost its charm. That's what sad. I didn't build my expectations by the cover or genres, there is enough basis to be disappointed within the anime itself. You get used to one thing throughout several episodes and you expect greater stuff with a similar tone but it suddenly turns on its head and shoves you something so basic.

I can get the occasional comic relief episode but here this was integrated into every episode from that point, there were even serious scenes and battles interrupted with stupid facial expressions. Just... why? It could still be an outstanding anime even with all the annoying elements sprinkled here and there for a breather but being completely off balance in such a way it just became closer to something average.

Great last episode, though it's unfortunate it managed to hype me up so much for what's to come, yet no new anime material will come out soon.

Muzan was really scary - even before speaking I knew it was him due to that menacing aura and the BGM. He's really no joke, it's been a while since I've witnessed such a threatening and scary villain.

The part with Kanao was also really nice, she's slowly opening up due to Tanjiro.

Interactions between Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu were hilarious with two of them not even knowing what a train is.

Final credits scene with the recap of Tanjiro's motivation and his bond with Nezuko was amazing.

So, now next arc will be adapted as a movie. Hopefully there's an S2 after that as well. Until then, I guess, it's time for me to pick up the manga.

9/10 show with godlike animation and cool, likable characters.

This wasn't bad. I mostly liked the animations and the soundtracks.

That camera movement around the train before the end credits was absolutely breathtaking!

We got a new information: the demon slayers are not recognised by the government as an official organisation. I wonder how they earn their money then. I have never seen them receive any payments like they do in Claymore.

This was definitely one of the strongest episodes of the whole show and that's because it focused on the demons, which the rest of the show should've spent a lot more time doing. I'm sorry but most of the humans in this show were either far too out there for the show's otherwise quite sombre mood or just weirdly dull. Any of the comic relief scenes just felt out of place, not least of all because most of the jokes just weren't funny.

This episode's CGI was also an... interesting choice. The actual background looked far too much like it was CGI meant for a live action scene and made the actors look out of place but the worst offender was Muzan's weird fleshy arm. It just looked bad and blocky, like old anime PS2 games used to look. I don't really get why Ufotable didn't just draw it - they rely way too heavily on CGI and weird overlays. It gives everything they make this really dated 2012 aesthetic to it.

Show's overall rating is a 6/10. I don't really like this style of shonen as is, but this example was very middling when it came to pacing and character. Nice concept, meh execution. Reminded me too much of Owari No Seraph, especially in terms of having female characters I can't stand.

Great way to wrap up the first season. Muzan is truly ruthless.

Nice to hear Kanao finally speak. It's hard not to ship her and Tanjiro after that scene.

The PV for the movie with Rengoku had me really hyped. Really want to read the manga but guess I might wait after the movie.
