I don't understand if helping the kids was that simple then why was it a big problem in the 1st place? Someone explain to me.

What was shown in this episode and the previous one demonstrated it:
- To save the children, you need to be able to invoke great spirit AND make them fuse with the kids AND assure yourself that the spirits won't rampage like Ifrit did.
- To find great spirits you need to find the fairy queen
- To meet the Fairy Queen, you need to go through her labyrinth + have the power to vanquish her guardian, that not humans could defeat without having a special ability.
- To fuse a great spirit in the kids, you first need to have the right character to summon it, only one kid in the group had that, or to be able to fuse the weaker spirit into one great spirit, and then hope that either the summoned great spirit will do it out of benevolence or create a docile personality out of the fused one to do it.
Which mean only Rimuru could do it, he is the only one who has enough power and have the Great Sage ability after all.

Chloe is another matter btw.
Thanks for letting me know.

I'm glad that Rimuru managed to save them all, i was worried that the spirits wouldn't help one of the kids but good that i was wrong, and i wonder what was that spirit that entered Chloe, but it's probably very OP xD
I wonder tho how she is related to all of this.

What a fantastic recap! It was actually really good and didn't felt like a filler, because it reminded me how much it been since it started, from a simple slime that was eating plants in a cavern to governor of a whole country made by creatures that never thought that they could live together, plus on that he saved some kids and made some great diplomatic agreements! Damn, it's been a great journey, it was fantastic to remember all that with a great background song.

It's kinda sad to see the main arc end so soon but it's still good, we still have 2 episodes and this was probably the best goodbye! I still can't rate how much i loved this but i hope there will be another season.

That's all folks...or is it?

Despite how this episode turned out, I'll admit that the Children arc was boring all the way through, but the underlying message was to serve the justice that is Shizu and her life tutoring her students, and Rimuru is continuing that legacy, and he has achieved it to the fullest, and for that I'll give this arc a pass.

And the other half which was a recap romp which already signals the end of the main story. For the next 2 episodes, it will be canon, but also written by the author as well, so technically it fits.

If the production committee has a Season 2 in the works, they would probably wait until the original source materials are updated and translated.then green-light the series again.

For the immense haters, please check all sources (manga, WN,LN) before y'all make your statement. This series was and is never gonna turn out to something like Overlord (like some really wanted to), and it is meant just for slice-of-life tactics.

I'm so confused about this episode, last time i felt that was on NGNL final one.

Must be a reason for that i'm sure but.....what's the most probable cause for that...
Unknown so far.

Maybe they didn't want to spoil the next arc? Hurt manga sales? BUSINESS GREEDINESS
Or something happened in the production?

They actually hurt their sales, i mean was going to buy it but i'm not sure anymore.
Meanwhile i'm waiting my Gotoubun mangas arrive.

This episode was not bad, and I enjoyed most of it but saying "but that's another story" and then wasting time on a recap felt like a slap into the face.
I know that they did all this stuff, I saw the episodes, why the heck do you need to show me a recap? I mean the story wasn't even complex...
If they show a recap episode, ok, I can understand why, I can skip it because in most (not all) cases it is a waste of time, but this kind of recap ruined in my opinion a part of the episode.

After all it was ok, but extremely dissapointing. Also pretty much ending it before reaching all episodes added to this dissapointment. And the ending was fine. Not good, not bad, just fine.

Wait wait wait wait wait this is the end? Oh wow, that was disappointing. The last 2 episodes are just extras.

Ultimately, the story is boring. Your average happy go lucky isekai. Playing civilization in first person. Every character feels one-dimensional. Shizu was a potentially interesting character. Well too bad, she's dead.

Two episodes ago the issue of saving the children was presented as an unprecedented feat, but conveniently Rimuru just happens to possess all the needed characteristics to pull off the task with ease, no struggle, no sense of danger, and things are resolved just like that...

Charybdis was built up to seem like a titanic threat, but that was completely undermined by Milim basically one-shotting it, rendering all the buildup completely pointless.

This is worse than Overlord. At least in that series, there’s no pretense that the opposition would present any kind of threat whatsoever.

A terrible shame. The story seemed to have potential in the beginning. Now I hardly care what happens next. It amazes me that this manages to hold such a high rating.

I was a little confused when watching the episode cause it felt very much like a finale but then it was only episode 23. I guess from what I've read on this thread, it is indeed the last episode for the main story and the next two are gonna be side stories. That's cool.

Good episode overall, it was nice seeing Rimuru help the children get the superior spirits into their bodies with the exception of the two who seemed to have summoned superior spirits regardless.

I loved Rimuru's reaction when Chloe says she loves him. XDD

I guess they needed the recap to pad out the rest of the episode since they didn't want to start the next arc or something.

Looking forward to the side stories next week.

I don't really comment on these things but I was curious to see if anyone thought the same. Not read the manga, so don't know.
But I'm probably wrong though!

I think Chloe's spirit might actually be Chloe from the future. They made a strong hint at her having the power of Time, her spirit also went straight for Rimuru for a kiss soon after Chloe confesses to Rimuru. The spirit also doesn't seem to be of any threat to Chloe, like the spirit appeared already knowing what they had to do.

The only other thought I have is Chloe is part of Shizu's bloodline which may be what is being hinted at by giving her the mask, "passing it down to the younger generation"?!

If another series happens, it's going to completely ruin my theories. Either way, it feels like it's hinting at Chloe and Rimuru far into future. I wonder if that's what was actually being hinted at in the crystal ball, as it focused on both Shizu and Chloe.

Ending on a happy note fits the theme of the anime.

Rather my gripe is with the spirit summoning scene. It just felt so bland and uninteresting!
They could've easily made it a bit cooler by showing the spirits that got summoned! Heck even a schematic drawing within Great Sage would've looked dank!
And was Chloe's spirit supposed to be seductive? Cause honestly, it was pretty flat.

Well Rirumu fulfilled his promise with Shizu, the kids are safe, I'm still not convinced that Chloe is safe, that strange spirit that had features very similar to the little girl left me more doubts (Ramiris mentions that she is a spirit from the future, that would mean that the spirit is Chloe in the future?) Also that spirit was direct to kiss Rirumu, so I still think that spirit has something that intrigues me and leaves me with many doubts.
That adorable part in which Chloe tells Rirumu that she loves him was so cute and Rirumu knows he should wait several years, but still cute detail.
Kenya also surprised me, since he was the only one who could call a superior spirit, that means that in the future he will have an important role as a knight or something more heroic.
Ramiris is so fuckin cute, I love how she is embarrass when the kids thank her for her help.
Rirumu is a good Slime, the farewell gift that he left to Yuuki was very generous, now he will have an enviable collection.
I must say that I was sad to see the children so sad to see that Rirumu goes home, although he left some gifts, besides Chloe was left with the mask of Shizu (I still feel that these girls should be related in something, Shizu and Chloe have very similar features).
At last we saw Hinata, but she did not do or said anything ... what a waste, now it is clear to me that there will be no second season (but I will not lose faith)

My only complaint was the recap, I feel that those minutes could have been invested in something better.
The sequence in which we see all the friends of Rirumu felt so nostalgic, besides that seeing Millim flying through the sky made me sentimental, (I'll miss you with the soul, little and adorable disaster)
Another point that disappointed me is that I did not have enough Shion, I'm going to miss the best secretary of Tempest, lucky Rirumu who can be under such comfort.
Anyway, the adventures of Rirumu, the Slime OP have ended and although there were chapters loose or slow, it does not take away the fact that I enjoyed it enough every episode, I was introduced to Millim, Shunna and the spectacular Shion and that fulfills a huge requirement, they also touched me with the story of Shizu and her suffering that made me cry until I could no more, in simple words, I really enjoy this anime and I do not regret anything. I'm still hoping that this anime will have a second season.
Let's see what surprises we will have with this two "extras" episodes.

For me Charybdis arc is very weak compare to all of the tensura arc, heck i'm even forgot that it exist in the first place until i read it again in the manga. And the latest arc is just word building and foreshadowing for future plot, so until the last minute, i'm still hoping to see rimuru facing hinata with a few dialogue like in the latest translated manga, just for a bit conflict to end the story

Overall its 7 to me, slime is one of isekai theme novel that i really like but i dont have high expectation about the anime because 8bit doing it, so just the fact that they adapted the first few episodes better than what i expected is already good enough.

Hope the next 2 extras will be enjoyable like in the first few episodes. And if there is a second season, i'm hoping they use a whole cour to adept the next arc because its one of my favorite

damn, they skipped the fight with Hinata, you could see it coming though, ending the series with such a cliffhanger wouldn't really work given the series' themes. When the first teasers of the series came out and they showed Hinata I was soooo sure we'd be going up to the Demon Lord summit, specially when Milim announced it'd be 2-cour... all my hopes dropped to zero when they took so much time to adapt vols. 1-2 though, I appreciated it of course, but I was nonetheless disappointed we wouldn't get to the true plot of the series in this adaptation.

I just hope we get an announcement for a season 2. I need the Demon Lord summit!!!!

Oh, so was this supposed to be the last episode? Kind of unexpected if I'm honest but well.

All in all, it was a nice episode although I was expecting the scene with the spirits summoning to be a bit more emotional since it was the moment to see whether the kids' lives would be saved or not.

As a whole, the anime was rather entertaining to watch, even more from what I was expecting at first. However, I must also say that the first cour with Verudora, Shizue's introduction, Ifrit, Shion and co. and the Lord Orc was way more enjoyable to watch than the second one. The second cour sure had some nice moments too but I guess the feeling wasn't the same.

That said, let's see what these extra episodes can offer us.

I am happy that Rimuru managed to save the kids without problems, their spirit affinity was really interesting to see, the kid with orange hair managed to summon a superior spirit of the light, and honestly i was expecting something from Chloe, and yeah we saw a misterious women spirit, that suddently kissed Rimuru and even made Ramiris be cautious about her, and Ramiris think her is a future spirit, i am really curious about that!

We could see cute moments with Rimuru and lolis, Chloe confesses to Rimuru, Rimuru's thoughts were really funny!

Rimuru's farewel from kids was sad, i thought he would bring them to his village, but i was wrong about that, Rimuru felt she would give mask to Chloe and i also curious to see Shizu and Chloe relation!

The recap segment touched me a bit, it rememberd me about the best moments about this awesome journey and about the awesome character we've meet!

It's been a great journey, Rimuru became a governator of a village, mad a lot of diplomatic agreements and meet a lot of awesome and trustworthy allies, i will miss this characters a lot, kinda sad about main arc finish that soon, but hope next two episodes had something good to offer, and also hope this wonderful anime receive a second season, with an ending like this i will only be fully satisfied with a second season!

Rimuru is a velvet room...

That "Spirit" is probably future Chloe...

Well getting those superior spirits was easier that expected...Chloe gets the mask probably because of that "spirit".

So this is the final episode of the series, eh? Next episode is going to be an extra...

Alright then...

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken...had a strong start with good world building, animation, and fun characters. And then it began to slow down as it entered its second half...Pretty lighthearted and simple for the most part. Nothing really too complex, which is fine. This episode to wrap up this arc was ok. Rimuru fulfilled what Shizu wanted him to do. I guess this is as far as the series can go because if it had to start a new arc, it would have to add even more episodes which can either be done as a movie or as an OVA series. I mean we still have to see Veldora released from the seal and all. Perhaps the one thing that kind of bothered me a bit is that Rimuru's power is...underutilized. Maybe it's because he sticking to his human form longer than his slime form kind of turns it off for me. I wanted to see him do more things with it. Oh well. Guess I'll just wait and see.

Final Verdict: Tumbleweed/10

With the main plot done: what a baffling show this was. I'm not even angry or upset, just... confused. The show started out with some promise of being different, then did... nothing at all interesting with its concept.

I don't need action to be entertained, but I need something. Characters to latch onto who aren't just the same people copy and pasted, interesting characters who I want to see the stories of unfold. There were a few characters I did enjoy, but as soon as they were pacified they became the same characters as everyone else. Gabiru is the only character who felt like he had a unique voice from beginning to end, and boy was he annoying.

There was no conflict. Even lighthearted comedies have some kind of conflict, conflict means more than fights and arguments. Not to mention, no overarching theme, it was just aimless action and city building. I was bored to tears by episode 10.

Also this last arc was by far the worst.

Pretty poor finale to the ‘main’ storyline here, if you ask me.

I was never astonished by the premise of the show, unlike most people here but I certainly did find this show entertaining during the first half. As for the second half, however, things really did fall apart. Anyway, there’s my overall verdict. I doubt it’ll change at the end of the remaining two episodes but here’s to hoping it somehow does.

Rimuru managed to save the kids once and for all and the whole buildup to that point was pretty good. Some good noticeable usage of ost in this episode too, so that’s another plus. It wasn’t too bothersome a task, or not nearly as much as I thought it’d be, I wonder why Shizu-san didn’t go out of her way to save the kids like Rimuru did though. Did she not know of this place or something of that sort? Security issues?

A wild change in emotions for the kids though. It’s great that they’ve been saved but saying farewell to another mentor of theirs must’ve surely been hard for them. A lot of focus on Chloe’s character, particularly, in this episode and I wonder what that evil spirit from the future, or whatever it was, is really all about. We even got to see a bit Veldora in berserk mode(was it?). Moreover, we were briefly introduced to a possible antagonist and I’m assuming that spy there in the end is related.

As such, kind of an inconclusive and meh note to sign off. Hopefully, the next two episodes will have something worth to look forward to.

Extremely wholesome, heartwarming last episode. Glad they didn't show Hinata's fight, cos that allows them to segway into a second season, which would have a considerably darker overtone. The manga has almost reached the start of the good bits, so it was a sensible idea to stop there. Only pity was not seeing more of my beautiful baby boi Beretta (#best_boi), but Diablo was a treat.

Kinda annoying they filled in a lot of the episode with recap, but overall I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with this series. Looking forward to another season.

Overall one of the most wholesome isekai anime out there. Really no complaints with how the main character is written and aside from a few stiff facial expressions the show was generally super aesthetically pleasing.

This episode felt like an end-game with those previous clips montaged together that I'm sure filled most of us with a sense of achievements and accomplishmenet, seeing a low ranked Slime rise up the ranks and being what Remuru is today truly is something else.
That spirit that inhabited Chloe can't be something to bring joy I'm sure, all fo those warning the spirit queen gave and even it looked weird and kind of evil, and the way she kissed Rimuru, I believe she might have stolen some of Rimuru's powers by kissing him and thus transferring it to Chloe, and how convenient it is, not only Chloe resembles Shizu so much but she even got her old Mask, there must be a great foreshadowing there.
And what's with this dude stalking Rimuru at the end? Could he be another powerful summon? I think we can only finding next week, two episodes to go, guys, it was quite the journey.

For me, the first half of the show was pretty damn good, but the second half drops the ball heavily. I definitely don't think it's bad, but it is worse when you compare them. Which is a shame really. If the show had stayed consistent, it would have been one of the best from the past year, but unfortunately, that's not the case.

I need second season, but why?

Reason 1: Veldora is still inside Rimuru.
Reason 2: Because something is missing.

Is this the final episode of the story? And what about the remaining 2?

Damn... I just started reading the related chapters of the manga, due to this episode being the last one. The manga is SO MUCH BETTER. WTF?!?!?

They left out so much from the anime... fckin ridiculous.

I know right. You should see how much was cut from the LN 😂

Wow! I'm glad that the spirits position turned out well. Now the children, apparently, are out of danger :). I do not know why, but I felt like crying to see the short summary of the entire anime story so far. I'll say it again, this is one of the best anime series I've seen. I'm glad I followed it from the beginning. See the feats of Rimuru and what he achieved with his allies and friends throughout history. He is one of the best actors, he has earned my respect. And, I think it's worth saying that I love many characters from this anime. It's my favorite. It has been a great pleasure.

Psdt: This chapter seemed like the end of the season. And as things go, I think and I hope that this anime has at least another two seasons 😅. I love him.

I hope that "Kumo ga desu ga nanika" and "honzuki no gekokujou" have better luck... not, only seeing at the PV you know they will be equally disappointing or worse.
I have lost faith in the industry again.

Started to read Kumo ga desu ga nanika, and it's pretty good. :D Thanks for mentioning.

Yep that's a good one as well . The only difference is they leave out SS chapters
