Art-wise I think my favorites have to be:

K
Death Parade
Fate/Zero and other UFO Table/Type Moon colaborations
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet

"The name's Gambit. Remember it."

Irozuku is beautiful, it really is... but ugh for some reason the character designs and particularly the faces are so distracting.

I think my favorite sort of style would be something that emulates watercolor, such as Hourou Musuko or the Kawamoto family scenes in 3-gatsu no Lion.

No thought necessary - Petrov. Some of his stuff belongs in the Louvre lol.

Then I'd start in on the next obvious ones like Angel's Egg, Kaguya-hime no Monogatari, Shan Shui Qing, Mononoke, etc.

Obligatory "dude he's Russian and just because he made once a co-production with Japan doesn't make him anime" aside, his work is indeed gorgeous and it would also take my first spot. Oil painting is probably my favorite animation style, it looks impressive and takes a lot of effort. Looking forward to finally watching Loving Vincent, and I'd also like to highlight an earlier short by Dorota Kobiela, Little Postman, which was a very refreshing take on the oil painting technique by adding a stereoscopic effect.

Overall, I'd say one of Kyoto's works: Hyouka, Hibike Euphonium or Violet Evergarden since attractive artstyle phrase was used

Pleasing wise, I'd say Katanagatari

Background wise specifically, Made in Abyss (helps that I love the varied setting)

Just based on mechs only, Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Hard to narrow down character designs though

Some of my favourite art styles are from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Kill La Kill, Kimi No Wa, Samurai Champloo, Megalo Box and anything from Kyoto Animation. Obviously, I have more but this is all I can think for now...

I wouldn't think that there is a definitive "most attractive art style".
My favorites would be "Garden Of Words", "Land of The Lustrous", "Mob Psycho 100", "Pokémon Sun & Moon", any Shinichiro Watanabe related thing and most Trigger/Gainax stuff (specifically Inferno Cop).

I'm just going to cheat and say any given Ghibli film. Tale of Princess Kaguya in particular is absolutely gorgeous.

Tokyo Marble Chocolate is also very nice-looking.

Movies in general have the capacity to look nicer than most shows.

I like seeing lots of unique and different art styles in anime. Some of my favourites would be; Mononoke, Katanagatari and Gankutsuou. I know kyoani are well known for the beauty of their shows - I generally find their art to be high quality but relatively dull compared to some of the more atypical styles.

Most attractive would probably be K-On! for me.

As for my favorite style though, it'd have to be: Angel's Egg, City Hunter, Cat Soup, Mononoke, and Midori-ko.

Yeah he's one I often plug by shamelessly ignoring definitions that I shouldn't LOL. The fact that his productions were created almost single handedly blows my mind.

Loving Vincent - I haven't seen this yet either, as I've basically been on hiatus for a year or more. This is my favorite flavor of animation and can't wait to see it.

Jojo, Mob Psycho, and Ping Pong the Animation.

You can see a still frame of any of those shows, and you'll realize what show it's from even if you don't remember that scene. There's nothing worse than a generic and unmemorable art style. Substance > Style

Agreed. I think Violet Evergarden is the most attractive looking anime. So attractive looking, that it elevates an 8/10 for me, despite its melodramatic and crappy story.

Background: Anything by Shinkai Makoto (5 centimeters per second & Your Name especially)

Overall style: Land of the Lustrous, one of the most well-done CGI-based anime imo. It takes a little getting used to at first, but it's incredibly fitting.

Overall I prefer the style of One Punch Man (madhouse) but studio Bones has a general style I find attractive.
At one point I pointed to Bones as THE studio that would present consistent good quality animation,
though I haven't been very fond of their recent shows.

also ufotable has some awesome looking animation.
