A cute, unbeknown devil. If anything, using the word odd to describe Koga's actions would be an understatement. Her plan has a distinctly cunning flavour, though.

I am glad to find out that going along with his underclassman's scheme didn't form a rift between Azusagawa and Sakurajima.

rascal is such a weird word to be throwing out like this but Sakuta truly is a rascal. I love it.

And writers, take note... this is how you write a likeable tsundere-type. why am I, a 26 year old fucking adult, getting the kokoro feels over this anime character? curse you, waifu culture!

So the issue that this particular adolescense syndrome is trying to portray is the fear of being left alone and how our happiness is affected by our ability to make friends? Seems so at least.

Don't know what to think about Kouga, she's made a lot of unreasonable requests to Sakuta and their chemistry isn't as good as the chemistry between Mai and Sakuta but it's still enjoyable.

I dunno how is the original source so far, but they seem to be handling the dialogues so well, that is just a joy to watch this.

Mai appearence at the end tough... thank god I can see the next episode right away, sucks for those that had to wait~~

I got to say this show really plays well. I really didn't expect the time loop to end immediately after the typical anime misunderstanding, and it was a good laugh too. And Mai is smart enough to know it was a misunderstanding, just playing hard to get. The character-writing in this show is pretty good.

Also, I can very much relate to Tomoe saying being alone is embarrassing, but not to the extent where I need to go to the bathroom with someone (and I know some people who do do that lol)

That launch scene was so cute, the way they talk to each other, crack jokes and communicate, it's so heartwarming. So are they trying to imply that everybody who confesses is automatically the demon thing? The repeating day thing that happens really is just the entire world against those two high schoolers, just when they think they've got it, it's like the world saying No, and resetting itself a day backward just so that it doesn't go their way.
There we go for some unnecessary drama added to the mix, I've always thought this girl was the same one that told him to keep a distance from his friend? Did it turn out to be somebody else? I'm not totally sure, and there-there is the girl he met at the park that one time, she looks similar as well.
Did the ending theme song change? I feel a slight difference in the pitch.

Interesting episode although I don't know what to think about the new girl Tomoe. She sure is selfish for asking Sakuta to pretend to be her boyfriend. But I also feel a little bad for her for being so afraid of what others may think about her. That aside, I hope I can know more about her past.

And well, the whole idea of dating and pretending being a couple won't work. Usually this kind of plans end up in a mess. But well, I also have to say that I'm really interested in the development of this new arc, maybe not as much as Mai's one but still interested.

Got flashbacks of Groundhog Day and Steins;Gate while watching this. The day going forward after the misunderstanding gave me a good chuckle. I initially disliked Sakuta because he reminded me so much of Hachiman (whom I immensely dislike), but he's proving to be a far superior protagonist in every way. Mai is also much more likeable than Yukino. Don't have solid opinions on Kouga yet, but she's really cute so far.

Dude this episode appeals to me on a spiritual level. I totally get Sakuta for wanting to be alone cause I'm introverted, almost everything I like doing is better done alone especially masturbating. However I also understand Koga because I have social anxiety. So this is a struggle for me. Like I don't mind eating alone on a crowded school canteen, what I do mind is people who might be thinking that I'm a friendless loser who doesn't have anybody to eat with. But even so, I didn't like Sakuta cockblocking himself so he better explain this shit to Mai.

Guess I'm getting the idea that this adolescent problem is gonna be the thing to roll the story, I mean now another girl has the problem and Sakuta becomes the "hero" to solve this. Yeah, I think I can watch this series just fine by now.

EDIT: I really love the visuals. Now that I've grasped the idea of this series, I'm gonna be able to enjoy this. The anime is on the stage!

I ship MaiXSakkun, but she really expects so much out of him. He's right that she's the "Queen" type ;/ I was okay with it before, but it's a little annoying this ep .-. Didn't let him explain what happened before and then comes over demanding he should've came over to her place to try again after he got the cold shoulder *sigh* I get that she was jealous seeing another girl on top of her mans, but still. Smh.

Don't like the new girl Tomoe either. Solve your own damn problems Dx Who cares if you lose those friends. If they leave because of some stupid guy liking you instead, then you need new LEGIT friends. Baka onna >.> One of the girls who "visited" her at the cafe even said to Sakkun "what's so great about Tomoe?" Some shitty ass friends those are.

What do we have this time... A time loop? So there're different forms of Adolescent Syndrome huh.

I'm still getting my head around the concept of the adolescent syndrome, but it appears that the effects of it won't appear once the problem is resolved. But why did the time loop didn't erase Sakuta's memory?! In the case of Mai, only she the person with the adolescent syndrome is not affected by it (she remembers herself because she's herself obviously) even Sakuta forgot about her until he's reminded. But in Koga's case, he didn't get affected by Koga's adolescent syndrome and retains his memories despite the day resetting! WHY?! Does he have a special ability?!

Anyways, I love how cute Koga acts as Sakuta's kouhai. For once, Sakuta can be the senpai now. I see she's still aware of the fact that they've kicked each other's butts before XD

Yare yare... Such situations when Koga is on top of Sakuta can really give some next level misunderstanding... That was amusing!

I'm interested in knowing how this will play out, how Sakuta and Koga can go with Koga's plan and setting things straight. Her reason to why she's embarrassed of being alone might have a deeper reason than what was said in this ep.

Koga replaces Mai in the ED

Yep, as expected after that first arc the quality of the story dropped.

Like many other Light Novels, they start off strong with their first volumes but very often I feel like those first volumes are the stories that author wanted to tell in the first place. What follows afterwards though...

Oh series became popular... let's write the next volume. But what it can be about... I don't know... let's introduce a new girl and write a new story that will resolve around her.

Most light novel adaptation, especially slice of life, have always suffered from this structure.

The first arc was extremely solid but also, a little bit rushed in my opinion... as that storyline would turn out much better if it was stretch out for another two or three episodes, like so there would be no need to introduce secondary heroine and start making completely new story about her instead.

MC and Mai are interesting of characters on their own to easily carry 13 episodes long series with story resolving only about them, first half resolving around Mai and second half resolving around MC... but now the light novel format comes to strike this series down.

I wanted to note that he forgotten her pretty quickly and agreed on dating with Tomoe thoughtlessly. Way to sideroad his to be girlfriend for sake of the new arc. But then Mai appeared out of jealously at his doorstep suddenly... this triangle would be really interesting to watch.

Anyway, does Futaba really like Kunimi or does she only pretending hiding her true love to Sakuta instead. The only thing I can say about her theories is those are maybe set in reality but hopelessly full of plot holes in the context of their world - it really feel like just random technobabble for sake of showing her as nerdy type.

Time loop huh? Interesting. Wondering whether all this theoretical physics has some actual basis in real life physics. Probably not REAL or at least unproven, but whether there's any sort of basis, because I'm getting interested.

Anyways, great episode. It was funny to watch, my favourite bits are definitely his interactions with Mai. Their dry humour is still hilarious. And the asking her to go out with him thing is gold.

But I dislike the fake dating. I was kind of interested in Tomoe when she was first introduced, though the kicking her butt as well kinda threw me off. But this looks like plain selfishness. It's getting in the way of his relationship with Mai. Does she know? If she does, does she think of that?

Gave this episode a 4 because of the interruption to Sakuta and Mai's relationship.

But a great episode!

lol.. It's endless eight all over again?.. Even the cat is the same, and starting with some phrase of MC's imouto, and TV playing, as in Haruhi, lol.. Oh boy, can't wait for 8 episodes~ ;P Well, jokes aside, I really wouldn't mind something like this in this anime.. ;p
I wonder, if Futaba just thinks that Sakuta is going through chuuni faze or something, lol.. ;p And plays along?.. Or is she serious?..
Em.. I don't really see, how Sakuta really goes along with this play of Koga Tomoe?.. I mean, didn't he plan to date Mai?.. What happened with his resolve there?.. It's quite strange..
Well.. I guess, it makes sense in the end?.. If to think that Mai was in this "syndrome" situation as well, she'll believe Sakuta when he'll explain, and maybe will go along with their play.. Even if this play isn't really necessary, because they already passed 27th..

Did this just became Haruhi Suzumiya with first the disappearance and now the endless eight.

Truly a checkmate, either possible keep repeating a day by clearing the misunderstanding or keep living a lie with the misunderstanding, poor Sakuta getting dragged in this trouble because of fellow buttkicker Koga. Have to say Sakuta thinking what would happen if he explains the situation and Mai suddenly arriving and asking why he didn't come really shows they deserve each other.

This was a terrible episode. What's the point of working us up in episode 3 if he's just going to start dating another girl? Sure they say that they're lying to the school, but he's already taking photos with her. How invested are they going to get into this lie? Because once they reach a certain point, it won't be a lie anymore.
Can we take a second to talk about how a flashback of his sister saying the same thing as Tomoe made him agree to go along with this? This underlying incest is really turning me off from this show.
If they don't resolve this fake dating thing in the next episode, Mai is better off just dumping this guy and moving forward.

So we started with the two eating together at school so cute

But the main plot of this episode is a form of a time loop (Déjà vu/cue music) and honestly, I thought Sakuta would experiment on this I have so much expectations that didn't happen, I expected Tomoe to kick Sakuta when he dissed her that would've been hilarious in my opinion.

And the two really did a serious misconception for Yousuke and most importantly for Mai-san as well (that's gonna be a long explanation for Sakuta to clear it off) I'm excited about what's gonna happen in the next episode.

This episode was okay but definitely a lot weaker than the previous episodes, because I'm not sure how I feel about how the science would apply to a situation like this where its basically Groundhog Day, but whenever Sakuta and Mai don't confirm going out together on that day, then time can pass. Also Koga isn't anywhere near as charming or interesting as a character like Mai even now, but hey, at least I'm still a tad interested in what's going to happen, since I know it won't drag out as painfully as the Endless Eight and have more of a resolved meaning and purpose to it than the E8 too.
