| It really wasn't just the eraser. Her dropping her own was obviously the trigger in that flashback, but it was more than just handing her one that won her over. They were in the middle of an exam. You aren't allowed to speak, you can't ask for help, can't stand up. She was pretty much screwed because she couldn't properly correct mistakes after. But Haruto noticed Natsume's trouble and instinctively helped her out and then, when the teacher asked who talked, he raised his hand, took the blame, diverted attention from Natsume, who may or may not have been vice president at the time already. He kept her out of a possible reprimand and expressed himself in a forward, kind way that mollified the teacher and solved the problem. It wasn't just an eraser, it was the entire attitude and way of solving the problem on top of it. He showed himself as considerate and protective as well as kind, and that opened Natsume's eyes to what a great guy he is. Regarding Haruto and Morikawa, at this point I'll assume that she rejected him for two reasons: 1) She was going to move out soon, for college, and doesn't think it'd work that way long-distance. Which is sensible I guess, this shit's hard. 2) She was just talking about how her siblings enjoyed spending time with him and was inviting him over pretty much. She knows that her brothers like him a lot, and they'd be devastated if they ended up breaking up, be it because of college taking her away or simple relationship troubles. She's been consistently shown to put family ahead of personal endeavors, with music having been her big thing at school. Hurting her family is the last thing she wants, and her family is already regretful of "losing" her, so she doesn't want to double up there. On the subject of music, he also hit a sore spot by praising her trumpeting just when she needed to come to terms with giving up music. The last episode and this one we've seen her taking sheet music out of her room and basically saying goodbye to her dream of performing for a wider audience, giving in once again to indirect family pressure by studying up and someday taking over the family business. And now he just told her that, basically, he fell for her because of the one thing she was giving up. Awkward and uncomfortable situation to be in. Then there's the matter that she is still a wallflower. She's unused to going out, she tells him as much again this episode. She doesn't really live for herself, with her only real friend before having been Yoriko. This is all going too fast for her. I don't doubt she has feeling for him, even if she doesn't realize it yet (though I'll assume she will, now that there has been a catalyst), but she is completely unused to the idea of being in a relationship and being that close to somebody. She was nonplussed even when her best friend asked her about a crush. One big giveaway appears to be that she was trying to overplay the awkward silence towards the end by talking about her siblings and telling him how they adore Haruto. She didn't reciprocate his awkward silence, she directly went counter it, which is highly unusual for her. She was quite a bit more outgoing this time, alone with him, and her reactions last episode also indicate that she honestly cares about him. But in the end, Morikawa is uncertain of herself. She has to figure out her prioritize and develop a stronger sense of self first, realize what she wants for herself and that Haruto is part of it, only then can she honestly think about dating him, or anybody else for that matter. It is not that she doesn't have feelings, but that she struggles to sort through them and react based on her own impulses, and recognize them in the first place. |

| This anime has been full of surprises so far and I don't think it's going to follow a traditional romance plot so with being that said I think Komiya and Izumi have a good shot together. I'm also still curious about who Noriko has a crush on and I think there's a pretty good chance of it being one of the girls or maybe it will never be brought up again and she'll continue in the best friend role. I still don't understand Mayuko's connection to the plot, she keeps appearing and everyone seems afraid of being around her, I hope there is more to her character and I hope they explain it soon. Ena Komiya has remained best girl since the first episode. |

| I think there's a translation mistake where Natsume supposedly says: "I think I'd feel much better if someone would go out with me." Her line in Japanese doesn't have an object specified, so I think it's referring to Haruto, something like: "It would actually be a relief if someone went out with Haruto." That makes more sense heading into her next lines: "After all, that would help me focus on my exams." "So, I need Soma (Haruto) to do his best for my sake as well." She's saying that she's okay with Haruto confessing to and going out with Morikawa so that she can focus on her exam prep, knowing that she missed her chance at confessing to him. |

| Souma got rejected, that was harsh. Camera Girl is definitely turning out to be my favorite but I really do like Morikawa as well. |

| Lots and lots of lovetalk. I like it. Souma's a bit too...frustrating. A different kind of awkward to Azumi. I like both Komiya and Natsume but Morikawa is while not bad boring af, that couple in general is not very likable |

| Izumi is so baller. A girl asks him to call her pretty? "You're Pretty." He's a cool guy. I expected Morikawa to turn down Haruto since she doesn't seem to be interested in a relationship at the moment based on her expressions in the past episodes. I hope Haruto doesn't take this too hard...Fortunately this is still episode 4, so things can still happen. Izumi accidentally saying that he cares about Natsume though...And I was saying "Walk away. Walk away right now." And he did. Izumi is the man! Now the real conflict with Morikawa begins. One of those two girls that passed by said that she "hates the quiet girl." Things are about to happen... |

| Overall, it was a good episode. I got a bit confused, did eita knew mio's feelings since middle school? He got close to confessing there. Haruto got rejected, but atleast confessed in the 4th episode instead of the end of the series. Wondering Whether morikawa will change her feelings In the future eps. I really like camera girl. |

| Well, that was entirely expected. I haven't felt chemistry between Souma and Hatsuki. That was sadly only one sided affection and she didn't reciprocate his feelings. She has seen him more like a friend moreover she is unused to such situations as going out or being in a close relationship. Evidently she needs more time. Anyway the story is getting interesting. Can't wait for the next episode. |
| I guess an awkward person is drawn to someone at least equally awkward. An episode filled with anticipation and sorrow. The plot is starting to truly draw me in. At least Komiya provided a few moments of solace. |

| I really don't fell Natsume and Eita as a couple, I don't know, for me there is no chemistry there. But it is just the 4th episode, things can change. Komiya is so cool! GO SAVE YOUR CLUB GUUURL! \O/ So Morikawa did reject him. I thought she would do that because of college and all. I think she is even going to move to another city. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand, being honest, she doesn't look that interested, she even said that they never talkd before, so...yep. And, I felt bad for Morikawa when Souma rejected her tea. I know he is ALL super conscious of indirect kisses in his age, but she looked so sad. C'mon, drink the fuck out of the tea man :( |

| So now the question is did Morikawa reject Haruto because she likes someone else or because she is going to college? That's what we have to find out now. Natsume continues to be the worst character in this anime. Like bitch you've liked this dude for years....SAY SOMETHING TO HIM. It's not like he was even your best friend throughout those years, he was just an acquaintance. Why would you keep stringing yourself along like that??? At least Izumi stepped up and said something. I felt it developed his character a little more. In the end Komiya is best girl easily. She even dropped a perfect quote. "You'll never get a chance to win if you don't take the mound." Gah so good. Even that "I like you" as well. Amazing! |

| Love is all you need! This episode really left me craving for more. That was a clever move after the quiet first episodes, to rush things forward and have the characters clear their posititions to each other. Otherwise it would have turned into an awkward teenage rom-com of the sort I have enough of. |
| Amorous disappointment during this episode,, I think now is the time for Souma to look up and continue with his life. Now will see how the story will develop after this. 4/5  |

| This episode actually really made me feel down, I think the characters are pretty relatable and seeing both eita and souma pretty much get put down to the point of hopelessness was something that actually resonated. I kind of feel like the show might be building towards a no one winning type deal where everyone might go their separate ways. Still too early to really say that but i kind of feel its a possibility. |

| This Episode was awesome! I felt very uncomfortable to watch it because exactly the same thing what Haruto happened, happened to me two weeks ago. It's like to experience it again. I can 100% relate to Haruto |

"four students are prepared for graduation and feel the ending to their high school life. But that changes a little with the arrival of a transfer student." - From synopsis Did I misinterpret something or the wording saying that the students graduating and the transfer student are independent to each other? so like there are actually five 3rd year students as MC. The transfer student obviously Izumi. who is the 4th student graduating? Inui? Komiya at her 2nd year and Inui Noriko is not really part of the plot yet she in the the circle. |

| I don't get it... Does Natsume likes Souma? That makes absolutely no sense now that Eitas essentially been friend zoned this entire time... Hope they reveal her secret next week. Also these dumb generic character designs had me thinking it was Morikawa during the eraser scene 😑 Also Komiya is totally awesome! E:had to rewatch to actually get what's going on, the plot is far too nuanced. |

| A nice episode. I both love and hate this anime. I remember these feelings from long ago.... I feel a bit bad for Souma. He's somewhat of an idiot, but it sucked to see him rejected flat like that. |

I think that now Just Because is a series with many main characters (and MAL list of characters is accordant with this opinion). If we consider, for example, this episode, the screen time of Izumi didn't really exceeded the same of Haruto, maybe even the opposite. And it was quite the same even in the first one |

| Honestly i would prefer to have Komiya x Izumi as main couple... if Natsume starts falling for Izumi it will look forced asf because she has loved Haruto from a long time and if she just forgets him in some "months" that its a case to say that this girl surely falls in love fast lel.. izumi open your eyes mate and go for the BEST GIRL Komiya! (ik ik there is no chance... of that happening). |
