THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This Kai guy is quite something.
Quite a delusion dude imo with his personality.

I thought this episode had similar humor to the first episode. Minoa is still kinda fun to watch although really talky at times. I still find her to be cute though :3

The amount of anime logic being discussed is actually kinda fun to listen to. "Ru:Zero" LOL

Source material vs Anime adaption, I thought weapons were about to be brought out lol. Lot's of new characters introduced in this episode and many anime references as usual. I don't know, I still don't particularly like it very much. Will see if it improves later on; but for now it's the common, "I'm going to shut down your club for reason X" problem to deal with.

The drama starts right after the club is started well it was expected after they advertised in a bunny outfit.
Anyway some of the characters seems ok and some don't especially the Chuunibyou guy seems annoying.

I always wondered one question:

Why do Japanese anime industry every year put so much effort in producing this kind of crap shows instead of making continuations for popular and awaited shows like Berserk, Kingdom, Hunter x Hunter; or serializing the most popular manga waiting in the top of the list?

The girls are cute and Kai and the other Ikemen character are also interesting guys too. Kai is Chuunibyou and the other guy, Nakano, calls Asagaya "Ko-neko-chan". Lol an ikemen character calling a girl a kitten ? I also like the girl who frowns on anime adaptations that change so much stuff from the original LN works, as I can relate to that.

That anime club is full of otakus and people with weird quirks. This anime is shaping up to be very good so far, and a good alternative to Blend S, which I have dropped because I don't like seeing one of the girls in that anime physically abusing the Manager.

At the end of this episode, an order to cease club activities and forbid usage of the clubroom from the student council came, so next episode, we're probably gonna see them coming up together with a plan to fight that decision and in the process develop camaraderie and bonding between the club members to ovecome their first big challenge to their club activities.
I am someone that would like to watch a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc.

I haven't watched this yet but I think I can answer this one. It's simple, there are a lot of animation studios out there and no one will hire lower tier studios to work on big IPs. More reputable studios are normally booked up so it takes a while for them to get through each project.

Also there maybe trouble adapting the material (like berserk, too many huge scenes and I believe this is an issue with kingdom as well) or there is a lack of material (HxH currently).

Because not everyone in nippon wants to watch the same trash, if those shows you mentioned were truly "popular and awaited", long ago they would get another seasons, but nipponjins don't care.

OT: lol those names of anime shows...
also, of course the student council is bunch of villains here.

I find all the anime references to be hilarious, and I feel like I can already relate to the characters :D

It was funny how they talked about the best girl thing that's been going on in Re:Zero ahha "Am and Emily".

Anyways, I wonder why this anime has such a low score, it deserves a better score after only 2 eps. I hope after it's ended that it will have at least a 7.40 or something.

The characters talk like anime fans, even about the waifu wars that resulted from Re: Zero, and they're even as cringe as actual anime fans.
The only thing inaccurate is that they're all extremely hot girls, and not filthy looking guys like us.

But then it's just more of a slice of life? I like SoL anime so that might be why I think so far it's pretty okay.

Yeah the idea is nice and all, lets talk about anime and have fun yeah!! That would never happend the second one of the following gets mentioned war is breaking out: Anime vs sourcematerial, manga vs LN, waifus, dub vs sub (if there are any newcomers in the mix) and last but certanly not leats... And due to so much competition in the industry atm most studios want to spend as little money as possible, and requiring the rights to a manga or LN costs a fair buck.

ps.: I'll avoid mentioning the name in case some poor soul got stranded here before watching.

That butler dancing while they're changing their clothes into that bunny one had me wheezing. Hahaha. Idk why, but it was so cute. Haha.

I really love the OP. Can't wait to buy it on iTunes once it's already available. And the ED, too. :)

Idk if I should feel proud or not knowing those anime they're mentioning even though they're changing the titles. Haha. I watched too much, I guess? Jesus.

Neko-senpai? Waaah. When she mentioned Nyanko, though. Nyanko-senseeeeeeeeeei! Hahaha.

That Nakano guy was wearing a Love Live! Sunshine!! shirt, right? RIGHT? Hahah. Ohmygod. Damn me to hell if I was wrong. Goddamnit. I bet he's the one who heard Neko-senpai talking. Lol.

Glad their club has a lot of members now and there's enough for them to run it, but there's this girl who I think is ready to sabotage them. Every goddamn time.

I'm honestly enjoying this show so much. I can relate to these characters so much. Haha. Except that chuunibyou guy. Pffft.

Anyone remember haruhi doing the exact same thing. LN are better than anime in one thing. I e information. The anime adaptation skips/gloss so many things, it isn't funny anymore. Why the heck that father reacted to anime club part? Yes this deserves at least 7-7.5. the first two episodes are not bad. And yes this kind of thing is not possible IRL. three other student will haze you non-stop. And the lengths some anime fans go to defend their anime is mind boggling.

That's because people on the internet act anonymously and can post anything without consequences.

IRL, people tend to be more careful. :P

The club would definitely work if the leader is courageous enough to make the discussions and encourages members to talk as well.

Yeah, but that depends on what topics and how ehh lets say dedicated zed person is. Although i agree you fo have a point, stripping a keyboard warrior from his keyboard will make him easier to converse with. No matter the case, if such a grand club were to ever exist i think that «banning» certain topics would be in everyones best intrest just so you can avoid potential hostility within the club. If thats done then i 100% agree that it would work.

Anime-gataris Episode 2 Impressions:

This was pretty decent episode of Animegataris. Episode 2 mainly covers the gathering of the Anime Club members and discussing various topics about anime. The way the episode was directed in the first half was bombastically fun. I could tell Minoa’s overwhelmed sensation after watching many anime overnight, having an anime filled dream about Arisu and waking up with saggy eyes. It is especially hilarious when I see Minoa getting overwhelmed by the dedication of Arisu and her butler Sebas with inviting students to the club.

At this point, after the first eight minutes, we get real introductions to characters like Miko, Erika, and Kai. The discussion between Arisu and Miko is the main character relationship that is focused on. Mike seems to be really shy on expressing her love of anime (light-novel adaptations in particular). With her personality and her clash of tastes with Arisu, the discussion surrounding anime adaptations escalates to a fight. Their fight has interesting situations that parallels what anime fans easily get into fights for. Thankfully, Minoa was there to save Miko from leaving the club. Without Minoa there to help out, Miko’s shyness and aggressive nature would have gotten the best of her. Thanks to Minoa’s cluelessness about anime, she is basically the open soother who helps out people settle their differences and accept each other’s personal anime tastes.

Otakus IRL would have been more silent on the argument and left the situation. The way Minoa helps out each side character’s conflict is really intriguing, I want to see more unique situations Minoa gets into and how she solves them. She might be able to fully understand the many aspects of anime as a whole and the general problems that surround an anime community when the anime gets halfway through. As for the characters like Erika, Kai, and Kouki, they do not really get much screen time to talk about their tastes in depth, but they do bring brief interesting perspectives on the topics of anime with the Miko/Arisu discussion.

Hopefully, these club members get explored more when Animegataris gets to Episode 3. Episode 2 was a good step up from Episode 1, it is fulfilling my hopes regarding interesting discussions about anime and has really interesting relationships that make me attached to the characters. I hope the anime stays in this good momentum till the end of the season!

I'm basically just watching this to see what the "impending end of the world" will be, but otherwise I don't really appreciate this show. There's nothing wrong with a light comedy that has a lot of fun playing with typical cliches, but this episode practically became a boring lecture on anime, thus burying the fun bits. It doesn't help that the main character is utterly clueless. This episode wasted a ton of time explaining things that should go without any need for lengthy exposition. I doubt that anyone watching this show needs remedial lessons; the jokes are way too insider-oriented and obviously it's all about a meta take on anime tropes.

It's a weak show so far and with the introduction of the two extremely annoying male characters, I don't know if it's worth sticking around for more.
