I don't disagree with the opinion on FliFla, but how do you criticize LWA for something as trivial as Akko getting "excited about unnecessary things," yet Papika, possibly the biggest offender of such a pointless criticism, gets off scott free? What do you even define as something that's unnecessary for the character to get excited over? Isn't that up to them? But then, I do find the stories interesting, so naturally I would actually share her display of enthusiasm. I also find it humorous that we're just talking about cartoons yet you act like you're "woke" for not being "deceived" by Trigger.

It was boring. I also don't see the point of Diana as a character. She's just going to save the situation whenever the plot demands it? So far it's the only thing she's doing and it's boring.

my fave from the trio for the 2nd movie has always been Constanze and even now she continues to show whys she's awesome

that fight with the robot dragons was amazing with Constanze leading the fight also Diana can be annoying but whats really annoying is the fact that they just let her say what she wants and get away with it but in the end she always helps out big and is very likable though cant say the same about her 2 side kicks cant stand them

anyway looking forward to the next ep

Do not forget to click on "quote" otherwise I do not receive notifications and I can not know if you answered me. Luckily, I went on the forum and found your answer at random.

In Flip Flappers, there was a duality between the two main characters: Papika and Cocona. Papika possessed qualities that Cocona lacked. She was actually excited, cheerful and confident, unlike Cocona. Here, Papika's personality was useful.

While in Little Witch Academia, Akko tries to take an interest in everything to try to make the show entertaining. But it's forced.
Flip Flappers was a pruveyor of dreams for every episode: mechas, time travel, super powers, adventures in unusual places. I was expecting so much LWA and for now, I get bored. :/

It doesn't matter. But when I see so many positive comments, I have to clarify...

I find it redundant to quote someone when my reply directly follows theirs. I figure if someone's really interested in continuing conversation then they'll be creeping on the board anyway (as you ended up doing). But here I'll concede.

Yes, I can understand the clear duality of character between Cocona and Papika, but that doesn't actually address my point about her personality and it's erratic nature. Sure, it was useful and narratively important, but basically her reactions to the events taking place were no less "unnecessary" than Akko's. Again, I don't really sympathize with or understand your complaint overall, so we must agree to disagree I suppose. Her passion and positive view of life feel genuine to me, so it doesn't come off as forced at all. Contrarily, it's the most effortlessly charming and uplifting show I've seen in a while.

My main problem with FliFla was that, despite it's clear display of creativity and artistry (of which I have utmost respect for). I felt that the overarching plot did a relatively poor job of tying it all together, even if the show made its themes very apparent throughout.

I totally agree with you!
I don't find Akko to be forced or annoying at all. It totally goes with her character to be interested in everything that mentions magic and Chariot..

(this is directed to the other poster)
Why is it forced that she wanted to help to get the stone back? Tbh I think everyone would. If you never before saw dragons (like Akko) and you saw them take away stone Which will make the magic (one of the things Akko finds dearest to her) dissapear.. I think we all would totally take interest in getting it back. Everything Akko did was okay to me. It suits her character, and I love her character. I'm glad that after the new episode she learned her mistake, she realised she has to work hard to become a great witch like Chariot.

Diana is LWA's Mary Sue character. Hopefully she'll have some faults.

So far she already messed up twice (ep2. tree and first OVA dragon), and is known to be tsundere for chariot.

I liked this episode but not as much as the previous ones. It doesn't feel like at any point they are concerned with a bad outcome or getting seriously injured. This was also evident in the ep. 3 races.

Good episode! After last week fanfiction debacle, this brought some fantasy feel back to the table and dragon mining bitcoins, runing latest windows was hillarious surprise :D (who voiced him btw? I'm sure I know that voice)

I also liked how they were suddenly moving in huge areas, kinda Arietty style. Different approches to magic (hi-tech girl magic vs. Sucy's potion magic etc.) was also nice addition to the lore.

Also, Diana is real lifesaver, without her school would be over several times already.

Still think Akko should be more humble to others though, considering she can't actally do any magic by herself.

-Oh they started the episode with the OP this time, which might be an indicator that some hype shit is gonna happen
-Tinker girl and Munchie girl get promoted to more than background character
-Oh yep, things are starting to happen
-Hmm, the non-human magical creatures draw their life force from the sorcerer's stone or something, but couldn't they just use electrical appliances to do the laundry
-Diana laying down shade like picnic blankets
-Oh, they probably don't have washers and dryers in reserve
-I changed my mind from episode 3, Constanze is actually super cool with those steampunk guns
-Huh, so it wasn't an animation error that the dragons stole the sorcerer's stone while moving like a bunch of animatronics
-This dragon was absolutely nothing like I expected it to be
-And the school's not as prestigious as Akko made it out to be
-This banter between Akko and Fafnir is top tier
-Diana is so fucking cool
-Did Shiny Chariot ever have a run-in with Fafnir, based on how he reacted to Akko's dream
-Also the background music during the last scene with Fafnir was pretty amazing
-Pretty nice touch to have the episode end the same way that it started

First of all, this show has no business being this consistently fantastic. It just continues to subvert my expectations about how things seem to be going, and it comes off as super refreshing as a result. Also a fair bit of worldbuilding happened toward the end, with Fafnir alluding to the decline of magic. The interplay between the muggle commoner world and the magic world would actually be super interesting, and with the decline of magic being brought up, I can't imagine that this wouldn't be explored in future episodes. I also tend to enjoy stories where the main character has unyielding optimism in the face of everyone else shitting on their dreams, and this show seems to be going in that direction.

It's pretty nice to see a show about magic actually be a magical experience to watch

I really like Jasminka and Constanze! They are awesome and they barely speak, that's their charm. I really enjoyed this episode a lot especially the little hints of Akko' true motivation, make people fall in love with magic the same way Chariot made her fall in love with magic.
Just imagine if they were in a group with Sucy ;)

Though, I think there's a good chance that Sucy would be replacing those snacks with various experiments...

Akko seriously needs to start reflecting on her behavior, it's getting out of hand. Well, at least Diana and Amanda have pointed this out, too.

I'm willing to swallow Diana saving the day but it's kind of worrying that the school administration is so bad at managing things. They are so underfunded that they can only afford to feed the students with potatoes. Maybe the attitudes of these witches and the fact that magic is declining in popularity are in correlation somehow.

I hope there will be some more world building later that explains some things, e.g. what the job prospects are for the witch graduates, as technology is surpassing magic by now, and they can't even do much without these rare sorcerer's stones.

The dragon chase was certainly the visual standout, but the bickering (which is something that I usually find annoying) was also presented in a fun way.

"Sugar, spice, and everything nice...that makes pickled plums!" Hmm. That's not how I remember that recipe being used, Akko.

I like how this episode made Amanda into a more sympathetic character.

Oh my god, that dragon seriously called Akko "hardly a snack". That's both inappropriate and hilarious.

The most realistic thing about this show is how much the school is struggling financially.

Amanda, Jasmika and Constanze are Here! XD Loved them from 2nd Ova Movie! Amanda is same, but more fighting with Akko huh.

Greedy Dragon Fafnir and Diana again gets glory...well Fafnir did not acknowledge what Akko said...but at least noticed something in her Stare.....what that is..we will most likely see.

Nice episode. I like Akko and Amanda's interactions.
Constanze's contraptions were quite smart and interesting. It's surprising to see a witch who relies on technology.

The dragon is an investor and knows about finance and loans. Now that was unexpected.

Aaand Diana saved the day again. It's not like she was wrong at anything she did or said, but I understand how annoying and Mary Sue-ish she appears to the rest of the girls. She's strict, serious and not very talkative, so that's why she seems harsh at times, but she isn't evil, actually.

Classic dragon sitting on a treasure, modern way. Nice one.

The way they keep showing Diana's oh so advanced level was fine for me until they find good to make all the professors seem ridiculous in comparison.

2/5 At least, we got the larger intrigue revealed: end of magic ! Plus another confirmation that Akko is the new Chariot.

Next step? What was so special about her maybe?
