you forgot that BONES animated Mob Psycho

as for the poll i voted SANZIGEN considering cheap cel-shaded 3DCG (or 2.5D animation) is really improving and Bubuki Buranki is showing that

and also studios does not matter much considering majority of animators are free lancers that get work from a lot of anime studios

only ufotable and Kyoto Animation (as well as the 3DCG anime studios) can be really considered on that poll since this studios mostly do their animation in house or with their regular animators (so they do not much outsource their animation to free lance animators for example)

I dig bbk brnk though. It looks way better than other CGI anime out there. Although the story is a bit dumb, but hey, at least it's not hard to follow.

"Bones (Boku no Hero Academia, Akagami no Shirayuki, Bungo Stray Dogs)"

>No Mob Psycho 100

...That's like their best anime of 2016, by far.

Anyway, whatever studio did Flip Flappers, it deserves a shout out.
It's easily one of my favorite 2016 anime, and I'm only at episode 7.

Other 2016 favorites include:
KonoSuba, Tanaka-kun, JoJo part 4, My Hero Academia, and ReLife.

Overall, 2016 wasn't a bad year for anime.
Let's hope 2017 will be even better.

You forgot to mention All Out! for Madhouse and the Bones mentions should also be the most popular ones, since not everyone is as interested in the industry to know which studio made which show.

This year goes to Bones but its overall pretty well divided quality wise.

It's definitely between Bones and Deen this year. As much as I liked Mob Psycho and Stray Dogs, I'll vote for Deen because of how pleasantly surprising KonoSuba and Rakugo were.

DEEN made a comeback this year. Rakugo (which you didn't put under DEEN's 2016 repertoire) is easily the best anime of the year.

Deen had konosuba, Sakamoto, Tonkatsu DJ and Rakugo.

I don't see how that's even a competition.

Kidding Bones did quite well too, as usual.

Bones really got back alot of their lost magic in recent years. Deen had a huge turnaround this year too which makes up for them being my previous worst studio.

I will always consider that Shaft, ufotable and KyoAni as the peak of Japanese animation. I loved what Bones did with My Hero Academia (excepting the number of episodes). I like J.C Staff, but sadly I still hold some grudge for the rushed 13 episodes long Shokugeki no Souma season 2. And White Fox did an outstanding job with Re: Zero. But sadly we can give a single vote... and I chose Studio Deen, mostly for Konosuba, which which was the greatest anime surprise I seen in all my 10 years as an anime fan... plus they made an actual anime after a chinese novel, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Usually I hate Lerche but I gotta hand it to them, they executed Ansatsu Kyoushitsu and Danganronpa 3 perfectly. Bones did great as well ^^
Silver link did pretty good and White Fox had the super high budget Re:zero which I liked.
Overall I'll give it to Lerche because I'm bias towards DR3 even though I'm pretty certain Kodaka directed everything himself, they at least get marks for letting him.

My vote honestly goes for Bones. Despite what the other shows were released, and some of them were good (like for instance A-1 with Grimgar, DEEN with KoboSuba, etc.) I think Bones has stayed consistent over this year as well for me, they did a lot:

1. Pretty much they fixed the issues I had with Akagami S1 to some extent with S2, which was pretty good.

2. They pretty much went solid with Boku no Hero Academia, somehow doing things better than the original manga sometimes. Which is amusing for me considering not a lot of studios would do that imo.

3. I need to actually go and see the rest but Mob Psycho as far as I've seen was solid as well, with how they handled the manga a lot, and actually being better than One Punch Man for me, so that's a plus.

4. Concrete Revolutio was actually pretty good for a sequel, it did a lot of things better than the first (though the first season't isn't bad, don't get that in the head), and I actually loved it from there.

So yeah, my vote goes to Bones if it wouldn't be for those actually, also I exclude Bungou for now but I heard that the second season blew the first out of the fucking water. So that would be interesting to see.

Shaft all the way; more than just visual fidelity, they bring the visual storytelling game. Bones is pretty and amazing, but they don't have that. Still would be my 2nd choice though for straight-up awesomeness! Interesting poll OP.

I never noticed DEEN made much of the anime I enjoyed till no end this year, it does get my vote despite others making anime of better quality.
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

Studi DEEN, hands down. They created what I consider the best anime of all time, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and also created one of the best comedies in anime, KonoSuba. Sakamoto is quite good too. You can't go wrong with DEEN this year.

My 2nd choice would be J.C Staff. They surprised me with their 2 iyashikei shows. Flying Witch is up there with Aria with regards to this subgenre. Also, more Souma, Wixoss and Prison SChool(although an OVA). Taboo Tattoo was a mess though.

Never liked what Bones crapped out this year(only exceptions are Snow WHite with the Red Hair which is a good romance anime, mind you and Boku no Hero Academia which I still consider an inferior superhero anime). Also, Madhouse was disappointing with Prince of Stride(blegh!) though Nejimaki has a nice premise and excellent blood animation.

Not even Madhouse comes close.

Well, I'm gonna have to agree to this despite voting for Bones. Sunshine's production was awesome and Sunrise are doing really well with IBO too.
I'd probably have voted for Sunrise if it weren't for all those Bones titles this year.

Honorable mentions for me:
Sunrise
J.C Staff (Flying Witch, Amanchu and Shokugeki were excellent, Shokugeki might have been fast paced but it was still great)
KyoAni (Hibike is awesome and Koe no Katachi looks amazing)

Also props to I.G. for stellar work with Haikyuu! and Mappa for Yuri on Ice!
White Fox deserves a mention for their work with Re:Zero as well.
