| If I had one word to describe this, it would be amazing. As a beginner cook who is attending to a cooking school, this topic.. I didn't know that there are anime with this theme, honestly. Its brilliant. I especially like the part with the molecular gastronomy, props to the director. The animation was very vibrant, yeah, a little bit too much ecchi, and the moanings.. :D I didn't mind the power of MC on Souma's side, he had a beliveable reason to be the number one, I just found the last part a little bit too long. The amount of characters and voice actors we met, it was a lot, for only 24 episodes. I wish they continued this perfect series faster, its just so inspiring. 10/10 by far, for me |
| The last episode of the first season. So the preliminary round ends. Souma-kun in top 2. He's still badass. He looks hotter when he's serious! He really wants to be a better chef. I'm happy that he choose to learn from the his failures, that's why he keeps getting better. He is getting a harem. HAHAHA. I don't know who to ship him with. Souma x Erina? (Erina, just admit that he's really badass in cooking.) Souma x Megumi? Souma x Nikumi? Souma x "The Childhood Friend"? Souma x Isshiki? Souma x Takumi? Uhm. This is one of the most entertaining and intense shows that I've watched. The cooking match is like a fighting scene in any action shows. Each dish is well explained, from the history of ingredients to the step-by-step procedures of the recipes. I can tell that the creator of the manga/anime is knowledgeable in food industry. I know I'm not the only one who watches this with an empty stomach. This anime is mouth-watering. The humor is also one of the strongest points of "Shokugeki no Souma". It sits well in both execution and setup. In every episode, there's no time that I didn't laugh while watching this. This is like "Yakitate!! Japan". Both of them are comedy and have serious and extreme food duels, exaggerated food reactions (more fanservice/ecchi in Shokugeki), exciting culinary adventure and MCs with great cooking skills. So dear, if you love this show, I recommend you to also watch "Yakitate!! Japan". The latter has a lot more episodes though. And the music of this show? Oh, it's superb. From the theme songs(OPs and EDs) to the background music, I've experienced "eargasm". The first OP and ED theme songs are so freakin' great! The second theme songs are good also, but the first ones are greater. I'm so happy that there will be second season of this anime. I'M ROOTING FOR IT! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MAIN TOURNAMENT! By the way, I finished watching this final episode at "almost" 3:00 AM. Yeah, seriously. |

| What an amazing anime with a very unique topic and setting. Also fantastic music, great visuals and likable character. My only complaint is that it was a bit too tame for an ecchi series, but it was still a masterpiece. 10/10 :3 |
| This anime is truly a masterpiece the comedy mixed with ecchi mixed with great characters is fun to watch. The music is used very well and the animation is colorful and visually pleasing. Now that I finished the first Season on to the second season. I have high hopes that next season will be even better. 10/10 |

| Damn they should've ended this when the whole arc is finished and not just these matches. Anyway nice ending. Animation - 7 (Good) Art - 8 (The characters design is generic but i liked it, the use of colors was pretty good in all these food stuff, not much artistic value, but it was nice seeing these scene were they use different art to portray how each character felt during tasting the dishes) Sounds - 7 (Voice acting +, Soundtrack good, and effects +) Story - 6 (The main theme is cooking and cuisine which I adore very much +1, but the story has no depth its so simple so i cannot give it a very high score, the pacing is fine, and the dialogue is also simple yet is entertaining, you know pretty much what is going to happen and what the reaction is going to be, not much problems with the plot due to it being simple, the ending is good but should've ending at the end of the election imo, anyway liked it and loved the information about different cuisine and food, so instead of giving it an average score or even a 4 i will give it 6 here) Characters - 8 ( I know the characters are generic and most of them are similar to many characters before them, but i liked most of them, like i was laughing at their reactions and all, liked what they are doing and how they acted, Soma is awesome, the development is not strong but it has some, no villains or heroes only a bunch of school teens cooking stuff, without them i couldn't enjoy the show so i guess i will overrate them a bit here, instead of 6 an 8) Enjoyment - 8 (I love cooking, I love food, it was fun) Atmosphere - 8 Motivates me to cook although its impossible to do as they do lol. World-Building - 6 (simple, but explained) Overall: I liked the show and I hope there will be more of it in the feature, it is a good show to have some laughs and relax, plus it is very good to watch before eating a delicious meal, trust me on this one :P) My Final Score: 7.2/10 |

| I actually finished this while it was airing, but forgot to post my thoughts on it. Never would have thought I would enjoy a show about cooking so much, though then again, I felt the same way about most of the sports anime I watched beforehand. Unlike those though, where at most, I briefly daydreamed about myself in the sport, this show actually prompted me to start learning about cooking. The characters, cook-offs and of course foodgasms were all great. 8/10 |

| Episode 24 : Vol. 8, Ch. 58-60[mid] FINAL. Awww... The start of the terrible dishes. HAHAHA. This father and son are really something. Block B are Alice, Hisako, Takumi, and MEGUMI!!`` "Be careful. It's hot." YOU'RE HOT, HAYAMAAAA. This is the start of the eighth volume but this is the last episode of the first season. By this date, it's no secret that there is a second season so I suppose that it'll just continue on through that. OHHH. So Orie really likes Isshiki and this one really likes Hayama. HAHA. Both are really good guys but omgggg. Hayama's response. Oh, man. I really ship them even though she's so much older. HAHA. He said it so quiet that I don't htink that Jun heard him. AWWWW. DOES HE LOVE HER. Hmmm... I wonder what type of score that Souma will make. Hayama came in first with 94 and that is already such a high score. Alice came out with a 95 and SOUMA IS THE MAIN CHARACTER so he's got to make it within the four people that can pass. Sooo... He could come out being the top and beat Hayama and/or tie with Alice or make it higher. ORRR. He'll be the last of the four in this block. HAHA. Yukihira really likes those egg dishes. HAHA. All of that aromaaaa. I'd love to be in that stadium and just smell those dishes. Ahhh. So he used both of the dishes that he failed to and combined the two to create the ultimate dish for this season. HAHAHA. "He is the ultimate sore loser". YAAASSS. OHHHH, DUDEEEE. There are two ties in this Block now. OF COURSE THERE IS. One between Souma and Ryou and then one between Marui and Ibusaki. DAMN. HAHAHA. "SHUT UP, MINOR CHARACTER". omgg. There was so much detail in the whole spices that I totally forgot that the main challenge was curry. Of course, the spices are one of the most important part of the curry. Oh. So both of the second places will be considered second and third. There's only going to be one tie breaker. YUKI AND HER UGLY CRY. I LOVE HER. I wonder who that girl, that liked Marui, was. HAHAHA. ISSHIKI'S BOOTY. AWWWW. Hayama. He feels like he's indebted to her. I love those two. But Alice and Ryou are so totally cute, too. I thought that Alice would be a really bad guy but she's just really strange. Ryou is such a gangster. HAHA. Nao is back to her stalking but this time for Hisako. HAHAHA. THAT SOUMA MINI SPRITES. At the end when Souma and Megumi are talking when she was moving her hands together... It was like she wanted for Souma to hold her hands or something. I'm totally reading it in such a romantic way, too. HAHA. I love these characters, mang. HAHAHHAA. Nikumi doesn't want anybody to call her that. Mannn... That was a really great ending to the first season. WHELP. ONTO THE NEXT ONE. WHOA. ALL OF THE EPISODES, FOR THE SECOND SEASON, ARE ALREADY OUT. WHAT. I'M SO BEHIND. HAHA. |

| Such a great finale, pity Souma couldnt win by points, but he got the majority of the judges giving him a better score, so it was like a draw. Once again, never failing to amuse me!  Erina is just too cute, I love how she acts towards Souma. Just like him, she is a ultimately bad loser~~ Would have gave it a 10, if the anime had more surprising events, I mean this is like a shounen most of the times, so you can kinda see where it is going for the most part, but the execution and how epic cocking can be, adding to all the foodgasm, there is no best way to see this anime, other than being eating. 9.4 |

| Damn, Souma losing by only 1 point was such an intense moment, so close and yet so far. I loved how the judges ended up fighting over which one was better overall, just goes to show how great the two of them were. This show gotta be quite the surprise, I didn't expect anything noteworthy yet it managed to be entertaining every single time, even though the whole foodgasm thing got a bit boring after being used so often, they managed to quite spice it up after awhile and it only got more interesting as the show went on. A solid 8/10 for me, now I'm hyped to read the manga. |

 I'm glad that MC didn’t win this bout and it even made sense... Souma needs to grow a little bit more as a chef... This anime got me hooked all the way. The author(s) knows his/their stuff... cooking is the theme of this show, the author(s) is/are very knowledgeable about the cooking industry, food and cooking in general… The show also has exquisite characters + their development was great, most of them grew in the series, my only gripe was the lack of Erina interactions with the majority of the cast but that it just me being critical. Overall this was this show was beyond good IMO. I am glad that I give this a chance! |

| Wow.. I am amazed.. Shokugeki no Souma is the embodiment of battle shounen, tournament, battle, ranking system, SnS has it all! A lot of the more recent battle shounen adapt to a modern style of writing/literature, which utilize plot twist more often to make their shounen series great, but Shokugeki takes the old school shounen tropes that everyone loved and make them its own, it doesn't need shocking plot twist, instead of adding new style, it's trying to perfect the old ones. It's frankly quite unfortunate that this is a food war, instead of an actual combat, I would've definitely liked it more. The one huge weakness of this show is that I don't really look forward to the future contents, reason being I don't really care about the "cooking process" so to say, it's cool to watch it once but after a while it gets somewhat bland. It's the character drama and tournament results that actually mattered to me. That's why imo this would've been better as an action shounen, I prefer a good fight over a good cooking process. I also wish to see more fun times between the group of friends, I like their group dynamics and interaction but we don't really get to see a lot of it. Simply too much time was spent on cooking scenes. The middle portion of the series was somewhat dull, but the last few episodes have made up for it. |

| -That was a hype showdown between Hayama and Soma, and I felt that the decision to make Soma finish in second place just one point behind made the result much more interesting. It reminds us once more that despite Soma's prowess, he isn't invincible and still has much to learn. At the same time, it maintains the mystery and excitement as to who is truly more skillful given that Soma traded one point for one judge and would have won a regular shokugeki. He did also tie with Ryo and other finalists scored similarly, but the focus was on Hayama and where he stood in regard to Soma. -Soma's dish looked absolutely phenomenal. -The set of characters who made it to the next round were expected, but still delightful to see. -The scene of Hayama's backstory with Jun finding him was touching for how brief it was, due to how much meaning it provides for his interactions around Jun up to this point. I enjoyed this show much more than I expected I would. The characters were endearing and developed well for the most part. Each arc of the plot was formulaic at a high level and outcomes usually didn't deviate too far from what was anticipated, but the characters, dialogue, and execution were brillantly written and managed to keep the show engaging and captivating. Many characters had a distinctive personality that made them standout from the others, resulting in a vibrant cast of major and minor characters alike who were all interesting in their own ways. The science and descirptions of the dishes were excessive at times, but the manner in which the judging characters delivered the information and the visuals to accompany them made what would have otherwise been mundane rambling into something that was more or less worth paying attention to. I'm very much looking forward to enjoying the next season. Rating: 8/10 Also, Megumi > Erina. |

| Despite the dumb ecchi moments here and there, this show really delivered. The comedy was great, the food dishes were amazingly creative and appetizing, the suspense was well done, and the cooking battles/challenges consistently kept my attention. Most of the cast, including side characters, get a chance to shine, and each has their own unique charm. Megumi is best girl IMO. Overall, Food Wars was a consistently engaging and fun experience. 8/10 |

| Decent show but has too many characters that are ridiculously good at cooking. Since their food causes judges/people to get these crazy reactions to them every time because it's so good then you don't really get any satisfaction or sense of progress through a character's cooking. The only time Souma makes a bad dish is on purpose with the whole tentacle gag thing. |

| The anime had evolved very nice, started how an interesting anime series, with original culinary battles, it had a pothole but ended with the autumn qualifiers, that was amazing in the quality of the plates and intensity! 9/10 for this season! |

| Hayama struck everyone with an intense Fragrance Bomb and Soma immediately dropped the Fragrance Bomb 2.0 afterwards. Their tastebuds weren't ready for this and it seems awfully familiar to a certain something that happened a pretty long time ago, hm. Soma was only behind by 1 point in the total score but he got the favor of a majority of judges and considering that he was up against someone who was born and grown in the art of making curry dishes plus the fact that he had a very rare secret ingredient, it's really impressive that he actually that close to winning. Watching them all celebrate together after all their hardships was really heartwarming. I'd love to continue onto their next battles ♡ |

| Soma passes with an egg dish again, Erina gets hot and bothered by chibi Somas again (without even tasting the dish), and Megumi gets assaulted by tentacles again. Feels like we've come full circle Pretty good show if you can tolerate the aggressive sexual innuendos everywhere |
