| While what you said is very understandable and I agree with most of it, here in mal the ratings mean: 1 = Appalling 2 = Horrible 3 = Very Bad 4 = Bad 5 = Average 6 = Fine 7 = Good 8 = Very Good 9 = Great 10 = Masterpiece However the overall rating mentality for newbies, is quite different and that's probably where you are going: 10 = Absolute masterpiece(it does not exist) 9 = I must watch it 8 = This must quite good 7 = Maybe sometime, I'll give it a try 6 = This must be terrible 5 and 4 = Not even gonna give it a try 3 and below = This must be complete s*it. If it's just one episode I'm gonna watch it just to see how bad it is so I can bash it, lol We should stick to the oficial mal rating so there's no confusions. If we all have our own meaning for the ratings, then this turns into something really confusing and nobody understands each other xD |

(something better than "great" what score would get? and all bad shows are bad in the same way? ), and badly reasoned for negative scores it's like you're saying that any teacher giving a score for a test below 5 is hating on the student, and not the student being just ignorant about the subject ? not saying hating teachers don't exist, but it's wrong to assume all are hating, and assume the student is always right scores 1-5 are for bad results scores 6-10 are for good results and people scoring after only one episode are being jumpy, regardless if they score high or low, hype and hate are senseless in the exact same way just with opposite results also people scoring a show for its popularity and not for the show itself are misusing their vote @Smithier "people rate the series in its globality. For now, the series in its globality is only 1 episode long." this is bullshit, and even you should know it is, only someone being totally blind can not understand that a serie is supposed to have more episodes and that the first episode isn't the ending, and as much as some people actually think the serie is only one episode that's not a good example to base a reasoning on "The anime was, as you said "pre-air", do you know the reason why? To let people know if they'll like it or not then rate it." that's a more reasonable way to put it, but it could also be seen as pre-air are done to attract popularity(=add in the plan to watch=more people following it), not scores necessarily anyway, this is the episode discussion thread, why are we talking about scores here and not about what happened in the episode? :/ |

Of course teachers have the right to rate low scores even 0 since it is what the facts are representing. We are talking about opinions here. | Haven't watched it, but I've been looking at gifs. Looks amazing but I'm kind of worried Madhouse spent all their budget on the first couple of episodes and the rest will be meh. Hope that's not the case though. Amazing animation as expected of the studio that made Redline, they don't fuck around. |

The interesting experience was first watching that leaked version and now compare it with the official release. |

If it a moderate show, then it's 9 or 8. I only give 7 if I find the anime too boring for me or I did not enjoyed it. Can't give a low score though. After all the staff must spent lot of time to make an anime, it's not an easy job and that's the only way I can appreciate their works. If you "rate" like that you just shouldn't rate at all.... I found it pretty interesting. I give it 7/10 for now wich is pretty good for me. Let's see how it will develop. |
