Poltergeist18 said: ArdenFolgore said: Imaishi said: wasif_khan said: Rance-sama said: My mom is dead... and anime caused it. why is so? i bet she got cancer after watching tokyo ghoul The anime is shit, but the manga is awesome. So pls, don't think that anime and manga of that is the same. The anime only has 10 percent of manga content, the rest is anime original. Those who say otherwise are fucking plebs. Huh? The first season is an ok adaptation of it. But it all doesn't matter in the end as I didn't like either of them too much, lol. The first season is not an ok adaptation. They made Kaneki look even more pathetic and they butchered almost all Aogiri arc. The torture scene lost a lot of shock value and all of the arcs were rushed/mixed/ there was a lot of content important for character development cut. Not to mention prepostrous censorship. They even changed the fucking fight scenes, the fucking fight scenes. Fuck Pierrot. Here's my response for one user to whom I told why the manga is better if some of you are interested:(IT WAS WRITTEN WHILE FIRST SEASON ENDED): Tokyo Ghoul anime is rushed as hell and it lacks a lot of character development not just for Kaneki, but for side characters as well. To put it bluntly, it's a rushed mess. They skip or alter a lot of important scenes and Keneki is even more pathetic in the beginning of anime than in the beginning of the manga. The fights are also quite different. I also hate the fact that it is censored, BD'S are coming out now, but they even edited the plot because of the consorship, due to that we will never get some animated scenes uncensored. For example Yamori doesn't kill a man and a woman who's in love, let's say that he murders a couple of people that are even more close in front of Kaneki's eyes. Not to mention how anime depicts Tsukiyama in Gourmet Arc as less evil, there's a reason why the entire TG manga community calls him trash. The manga has a better shock value if you are looking for gore. The manga is worth reading since it maintains those details that makes it special and If you think that you saw some epic scenes in the anime, they were just fragments, they are not even close to the real thing that is in the manga. Kaneki's transformation is the best scene of the series and anime screwed it up by cutting some amazing things from the manga, his fight with Yamori was completely different from the manga and his inner monologue was shorter. I have to mention that S2 will have an anime original ending and the mangaka is working on it, since he hated the first season himself. (Comment: Too bad it turned out to be even a bigger peace of shit) You are entitled to your opinion, man, but you needlessly put tons of text into a thread that isn't about it. I still think the adaptation is good, but it's the material that wasn't very good from the start for me. As I said if you don't like stories like that don't bother with it, everyone has a different taste, but people bash TG mainly because of it's pathetic anime adaptation. Oh, but I did want to bother with it. Because I liked a story that dealt with the same themes and even though it was a lot rougher in writing, it actually worked for me (Kiseijuu). That's why I had a glimmer of hope for this, lol. As for everyone bashing the very adaptation... I'm at a loss of words for some reason. |

The Clowns - Typical backstabbing bastards(trope/cliche used in many mediums). Not to mention that it was mentioned that Arima fought Uta and we all know that at some point Arima was in that ward to eradicate the clown gang. I used to know one film critic who hated too many characters in movies. I guess you are one of those people and judging from your list you don't like Durarara as much as others. And I do agree that we are derailing the thread. |

I watched Naruto in the living room, and my parents would watch it without commenting. I watched the Supernatural anime with my mom and she liked it. (we're both Supernatural superfans though, so she'd like anything Supernatural) I think my parents would like Ergo Proxy and Fate/ series, and maybe Psycho-Pass. (we're all generally sci-fi/fantasy fans). And my mom might like AnoHana. But there are already several other live action shows that we watch each season with not a lot of time for anything else, and I normally watch anime after everyone is asleep. |

I showed her a couple episodes of Your Lie in April, and she wanted to watch the whole show, I was pretty surprised. My dad even joined us and we finished the series within about a week, they loved it. My mom even wanted to marathon the last ~8 episodes in one night but my dad didn't have time. Started watching Hanasaku Iroha with them recently but not sure if they will like it as much. |

I have watched Miyazaki films with them. A long time ago. I watched Princess Mononoke when I was 4 years old with my parents. It traumatized me. Seeing that white boar god turn into a demon terrified me. When I asked my parents what the tendril things were, they said they were blood vessels. Then from that point on I was afraid of blood until I had a better grasp on biology. |

My mom has seen episodes of Fruits Basket,Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood,Attack On Titan,Black Lagoon, Black Butler, and Chobits. She was fine with Fruits Basket ,Attack on Titan, and FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood.Chobits she said it was weird then again she only saw episode 4. I dont know her thoughs on Black Butler in general. We saw Black Lagoon on Toonami before I started watching it and we were both confused because I think it was too far in for either of us to understand. I do want to show her a few others like Durarara and Soul Eater but her work prevents it sadly. |

Both of my parents liked The Secret World of Arrietty. My mom loves it, and she also loves My Neighbor Totoro. While she is okay with a couple of others, usually she doesn't enjoy anime very much. My dad enjoys it even less (he seemed okay with Castle in the Sky and Voices of a Distant Star). My older brother also likes Arrietty, as well as From Up On Poppy Hill and Voices of a Distant Star. My brother and I used to watch Pokemon when we were little so we still enjoy that sometimes. But really, I usually just watch anime alone. I have a couple of friends who like it. :) My mom really liked the Death Note live action movies. XD |
