DATABASE DATABASE. The most catchy (and corny) OP of the season so far.

Good premiere episode. Has potential.

Also, this is the same author as Maoyuu Maou Yuusha.

It had a solid start so i will continued to follow it for now

I still felt some SAO vibes in it but that can't be helped Those who saw >hack probably had those vibes when they saw SAO

Still it's to early to tell ho really good this Anime because SAO had a solid start as well until it dropped as it went further

But this one i think has potential it might even be better than SAO , The Art is probably less impressive than it was with SAO but i will take good story progression, Character development and Action over Art any day

And for those who still think this is a SAO rip-off let me give you some information The LN series started publishing nearly around the same time as SAO started publishing so while it may share some of the basic story line it is entirely different just keep an open mind and don't judge to hasty from what i heard who read the LN this is different than SAO so just wait and see

Final Result: It had Good Solid start, The character Introduction, The action and Premise were Good, The Op was Alright and The Artistry could be improved upon it is still solid enough to watch and as for the sound they could improve it but since this is only the beginning i will wait to see what else it might t put up. The Action was Quite impressive and the comedy was alright although i would prefer if they dropp the amount of comedy a bit more and produce more action in future episode.

First episode mark i give it 8.5/ 10

Indeed, this has nearly nothing to do with SAO. Saying that this is a SAO rip-off is like saying all modern fantasy are rip-off of Tolkien and Tolkien is a rip-off of folklore.

For a bunch of gamers that suddenly realized they can't leave their game, they sure seem calm. I wish they spent the first episode going over how their initial impression of the controls of the game you know, like how a regular person would react when they first jump into a virtual reality game. And also, that assassin takes this game way too seriously, a big turn off.

If I hear one more comparison with SAO I'm going to jump out the nearest window. Can't you enjoy the show for what it is, it's not TRYING to be a rip-off, oh my god.

I really enjoyed it. It's aimed at a rather young audience I suppose and I like that, there doesn't always have to be depth in a story for it to be good and entertaining.
I also really really like Shiroe.

It is, in fact, entirely backward from SAO lol (and I don't know if SAO has anything worth to copy to begin with), so what wakka9ca said.

I'm liking it so far. They do seem a little calm knowing they are stuck in a game. But I don't want that long realism of them having to get over it and having it completely affect them while playing. This is fine being a fantasy.
So far, so good. I'm liking this setting and looking forward to what comes of it in the rest of the episodes, nice since it is like 25 episodes. It also looks like they're still dealing with problems from when the game was normal. That will be able to introduce more characters with histories. And them being at the level cap already, is good. They don't have to focus on level grinding and can go with the story more.

Really good start. I wasn't going to watch this at first, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. The lighthearted tone works well here. In a way, it reminds me of the recent Ixion Saga DT, though nowhere near as ridiculous.

A promising start of the season... I will continue to watch this.

Episode had a good start, it focus more on teamwork rather than go solo and the characters were likable especially the MC. The battle ost was great and the action scenes were satisfying. As for the op and ed, I'll give it two thumbs up.

For the story and animation I'll give it a decent but let's see how the show goes.

Not too impressed by the first episode, but I'll wait a few more before judging. Not feeling the comedy though so far,I hope they tone it down.most of it is cliched crap.

Well, it seems like this inspects the situation from different angle. Tbh, it would feel like SAO ripoff for most of the people if it started in the same way :D

Personally i prefer this starting method instead of the panic. Which also explains the cool headed main character :D

Takanashi Yasuharu, no wonder I felt like the music style was familiar :D

Nice introduction to the series, it was a well-paced episode. Love how the mc is a strategist and was very calm about the situation, and he seems to have an interesting/sad past in the game. Looking forward to learning more about Shiroe. The other two characters aren't anything special yet, but at least I don't find them annoying. They seem like nice people, Shiroe sure knows how to choose his party members. I like the ED song too.

It's missing a bit of explanation on the interface for playing the game, which makes things a bit confusing, but med, there'll be time for that later.

Not as strong a start as SAO, and not really much to judge from this episode, but still I have high hopes for this one.

My thoughts exactly. I was kinda annoyed about their nonchalant acceptance at first, but thinking about it it would end up being too emo if they got too depressed over it and I'm in this to have fun.
I probably regret this post by now.

Even if you think about it, normally people wouldn't immediately panic because they suddenly can't log out. They would just assume it's some sort of glitch where they would wait a while for some sort of say...announcement telling them they are stuck in the world like they did in SAO, so...People acting all nonchalant about being stuck in the world clueless is normal, at least until say...a day passes, then the panicking can start. I actually like this series for now since it has some comical elements rather than a flat out survival, kill each other depressing environment that was SAO.

Except it's not a virtual reality game, it was a normal computer game. That's why he was surprised when the command thing came up. He's used to staring at a screen instead of being in the game. The opposite of SAO.

Their interface is completely different from SAO's

Well this one has perverts SAO didn't :p

Interesting sot heir appearances can be different.

I guess food is shit compared to SAO :p

This is looking pretty good and allot different from SAO

I already loving it.

It was all that I hoped it to be. I also glad that it is so different from SAO. They are calm about the situation they are in? It's better than being depresed for two years. Making something too serious is not always the best move.

MC has a title strategist! I wouldn't mind if it went into strategy and mind games rather than flashy super powers. I would prefer if it went that way. But either way is fine I guess and I will definitely watch it weekly.

Saturdays for next half of years looks bright to me.

i actually just sort of stumbled upon this show but i have to say I'm really glad i did! I really enjoyed the first episode!! I like the three main characters and this all seems fun with a balanced amount of comedy and some action. At first, I also questioned their calm matter, because I know i would panic for a good hour or so. I think that this shows how composed and what a great strategist Shiroe is, since he started working with the command prompt right away and theorizing about the situation. Naotsugu seems real laid back and not extremely committed to the game, so I feel like he's just going with the flow. Akatsuki is just awesome, i really like her. Kind of a bummer that the food didn't taste like anything. A real tragedy since that pizza looked delicious.

Interesting that they are all max level already and not entering for the first time.

I dont know if I would have preferred the game creator to give them an introduction like SAO.

Akatsuki is very cute, Shirou and Akatsuki can be a nice couple.
It's feel more like a intro.
I will never comparing this with SAO because I can see it's very different.
I don't know why people hate SAO, have a couple of friends that didn't even like SAO at all.
I dunno why though.
SAO LN goes very well on the selling and with the anime. The audience get high.
If you expect something will happens on the first episode, you will get disappointed rather quick.
You should try give this anime a chance.
Oh man shitty food I wouldn't even want to get trap on that world.

We couldn't see much of interfaces in SAO though, this were different.
Everyone on max level but the monster is still incredible strong, party seem fun too, interesting main characters.
I expect some killing etcs.

Well it could be obvious from the first ep that this will be definitly different from SAO. Not saying if one is bad or not ot avoid pointless arguments but it has evident differences.

- It looks more action/comedy driven unlike SAO wich was more a romance.

- Main character not the classic powerfull swordsman

- There is magic in this world

- It seems that will give the viewers more dept on the world than SAO since the story will only be in this world i think.

Overall enjoyed this episode one of the best first episodes of this season. ALSO that op song is really one of the best of the year

The main difference between this and the first season of SAO is:

Log Horizon:
-GUILD-oriented, larger cast of characters
-Tactical battles
-No death involved, you re-spawn like a MMORPG
-More enjoyment of the world in general, like a game should be
-Main characters are adult (university graduate student + full-time workers): 25, 23 and 20
-The game is NOT a virtual reality game (BIG difference)

SAO (season 1, not the other arcs):
-Lone wolf
-Emo-ness + melancholy
-Hardcore mode: you die when you die in game
-MCs are teenagers.
-The game is a virtual reality game
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Ye I agree in my opinion I think this anime will unfold in a way better than that of SAO, except without romance. That would be the only flaw Log Horizon would have, but I think adding romance to it would be a bad idea.

Not that I think this is a SAO clone, but I'm sure people won't stop thinking of SAO and comparing Log Horizon to it. And there are real similarities -- real people being trapped in a MMORPG, a main who is a legend with a hidden past, and real-time combat that relies not on command but on how you move. Which is I suppose quite unfortunate, considering that I actually found this series to be enjoyable. SAO, for all its success, seems to have misplaced its focus by overemphasizing character interaction at the expense of immersion. Just from ep. 1 alone, it seems like Log Horizon will do a much better job of fleshing out the MMORPG itself. Here's looking forward to what might potentially end up as a decent-but-overlooked series.

Boom! Already a shit ton of MMORPG aspects like I hoped for and just in that one episode. skills, ui, loot, guilds, etc.

I absolutely love that they're actually incorporating groups and such more into this, dat loot drop after killing monsters too. Funny, has action and the characters are likeable so far. The ending was a nice sneak peak that there are probably multiple races in the game as well.

I like the protagonist so far. I hope he lives up to his strategist title.

I wish they would have showed them in the real world before jumping to the fantasy world. Right now, we have no sense of what these characters were like outside of the game. I think that lessens the impact of them being trapped in this fantasy world.
