My only complaints were they kind of went over the top this time doing the faces and overreactions Sasami did when the 3 Yagami sisters were screwing with her stuff, i know its normal for shaft but it felt a bit to much this time.

Also the whole resolution in the game world did seem a bit to fast like they chopped a chunk of the light novel away.

Other than that i liked the episode and it should only get better from here. Also all the people going on about "wtf was going on" last episode got their answers even though you could of got a rough idea in episode 1 anyway. Someone even pretty much made a post working out what had happened anyway its from the episode 1 forums and posted in the spoiler below.

Wow you are so wrong it's not even funny.

Would you know if they cut anything substantial mugimugi since it seems you might of read the novels.

tell you what, this part was more interesting in both the novel and the manga, but i get why they did it, it's like a calm before the storm, and this episode in special was used to give some screen time for the yagami sisters, not that we won't be seeing them later on...ohohoho we will *cough* goth loli tsurugi *cough* plus this one was made with a weak director for the episode, episode 3 is when things get real, remember, madoka episode 3?

Goth loli Tsurugi? I damn well do want. There is something really pretty about Tsurugi and her character design for the anime, same with Kagami. Yhey seem to be something above the normal pretty girl designs it is somewhat hard to explain just can not seem to word it properly. Either way both their designs are real nice and to me they both stand out. Not really fond of Tama in any aspect though, but oh well.

Another bizarre episode!!
So, Sasami used to be a supreme god, which is Amaterasu, but now her power is somehow transfered to the siscon bro.
This time the episode isn't that fun like the 1st ep. Anyway, lookin' forward to next week!!

This episode explained a lot about the story and way certain things happen in this anime it also showed a bit of the characters lifestyles.
Which was very funny starting with the classroom that teachers really didn't care about there students at all playing games in the middle of the class.
And the things that happened in Sasami's room where pretty funny as well she is obsessed with her stuff from the looks of it.

I also have to say that the background music is very good last week the background music was nice to.

Okay, but, why can't see see the brothers' face?
And how did he come to have the power of the #1 goddess? Really in touch with his female side?

Anyhow, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

We got to know more about the story and the setting in this episode. I think it was a good episode. Now we know it's not just some random show with random events like I was expecting after the first ep xD

This setting slighty reminded me of Haruhi Suzumiya. The Brother is the almight god who can change the world with his wishes without him noticing, just like Haruhi.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the next epsiode.

im not even sure there is a plot. its waay too episodic .

You clearly didn't notice the massive amounts of foreshadowing spliced throughout the episode, honestly to me it felt kind of boring but at the same time the episode felt like it is setting up for something bigger, explaining all the things we are going to need to understand it later. Despite the anti climax I still enjoyed the episode.
Honestly I just think people don't get the show. Scratch that. If this show episode was too complicated for you then I doubt that you'll like much shaft stuff in general.

I understood a lot of things from this episode.

First of all - Onii-chan doing the Suzumiya Haruhi dance in episode 1 - was that foreshadowing for the fact that he has Amaterasu's powers (or is Amaterasu himself)? Also, her brother being God himself would explain the hidden face.

More reveals about the nature of the 3 sisters, the relationship between them and Sasami (they obviously all know about these things). Why did Amaterasu's power move from Sasami to Onii-chan?

All in all, I totally "get it," and by that I mean I get the style they are going for here and I like it. Highly enjoyable for me thus far.

PS: Sasami losing it because they were getting their greasy hands all over her Mint-in-box collectibles was hilarious.

PPS: Now that I think about it, this is a little like Haruhi. You got your Nagato robot. You got your Mikuru hot clumsy chick with boobs (blond). You got your Haruhi (this could be either Sasami San or not-Sakura the redhead). And Onii-chan is like a hyperactive Kyon. The premise is also vaguely similar. Haruhi on acid, if you want to be hack about it.

This episode literally dealt with a Supernatural Occurrence within the MATRIX aka the Net in this series so far. What is interesting in this episode is that the digital world is shown and how mythical beasts can be done in it.

This episode proved without the need of help of other people nor spoilers that the Gods are toying with Sasami and her brother. It’s rather quite easy for Gods to possess a human being and after leave them and possess them again if they want to. Hence why Sasami mentions when she had her powers. And not having them still. This leads me to believe both are possessed by Susanoo and Amaterasu. Since both Gods were believed to do incest and IMO Amaterasu might have engaged in Yuri but not sure of that one.

About what I liked a lot, quite frankly there is a lot to love but one art form really got me,

In fact my avatar is made of it. The lighting, the sparkles and in general how it shows it’s perceived. Sasami looked like a magical sandman making magic come true. I have seen this form but never in such a fashion.

Rest of my thoughts in my club.

Hmm I liked the first episode better, this one explained things but was less entertaining, I wish there was more Kamiomi (Onii-chan) and less Tsurugi sisters.

I really disliked the part before they entered the virtual world, just how long were they planning to drag the "preveting them from playing the game/bullying Sasami-san"? They could've sped up the pace a lot and add more action instead.

I hope next episode will be better because I do like the setting :)

I preferred the first episode but was amused by all the references in this one. It's one excentric celebration of the otaku-centric lifestyle if I ever saw one.

Not sure what pp think about the show, but i think it's so underrated. Oh well I like how it got shaft-ed and personally i think it's a brilliant show. Gotta love all the jokes, talks and these girls, especially Sasami rofl. Beside Chihaya, this is definitely one of my top show this season.

When watching any shows like this which emphasized heavily on characters, you need to know that plot isn't the valuable thing, all come down to the character themselves. A perfect example for this style is Arakawa under the bridge. Plot and story doesn't make the show becomes interesting, but the characters.

I can agree with this.

Specially when they start talking about Amaterasu (?) I feel like the show is some kind of interpretation of some part of japanese culture or religion, both of which I know little to nothing about. So yeah, I'll go for the laughs.

On a side note, did anyone else got a Madoka Magica feel? It was something I can't quite put my finger on...the big monster? The red head? The artwork?

I believe that I do like this series. Something about the feeling of escapism. The sister, brother, and the game. People with all different sorts of power finding a way to not look at reality, I can understand that. After all, I am watching this instead of having anything to do with life off the computer. :P

  • NES reference in the spoiler
the controller is quite the dead give away and when Tama erased the game of Sasami and she was bitching at Tama it really has all the reason to, cause in the old days all games were saved on some internal part inside the cartridge and if you erase it then there is no way of bringing it back. Now with EMUs it’s better and more safe.

  • That's actually a Nintendo Famicom controller, not an NES. It's the Japanese equivalent.
