Best episode so far! It's nice to see the history on why Miketsukami is so incredibly loyal to Chiyo-chan.

I'm still trying to figure out how they came up with the idea to use Andre Gagnon's "Comme au Premier Jour" for the background music to the flashback, and even credited it in the flashback as well as in the ending credits. That was out on Gagnon's 3rd album back in 1983.

It's not often that you find Canadian content in an anime. LOL

learning about Soushi's past was a big eye opener and i finally understand why he was so fixed on serving Ririchiyo the way he did but that doesn't change the fact that i still don't like the guy hes just lost the title of that annoying bodyguard that sparkles all the time!.

rooting for a S2 because i felt like this was the start of the story haha

A more serious toned episode but it was quite touching to say the least.

Jesus Christ. FINALLY an episode with substance. By far the best episode in this entire shit. No... the ONLY good episode in this entire shit.

Something tells me something fucking retarded is going to happen in the next episode, though, and it'll be Rageville.

The first part of the episode where he was seducing and taking advantage of women was the best part. He should have stayed that way and kept doing what he did best.

The rest of the episode was -talktalktalktalktalk-...

Great episode. I liked how everything came together finally - the letters, how Soushi 'knew' Ririchiyo before, etc. And of course, loved that hug at the end. :D

Soushi's backstory was even sadder than I expected, but it explains a lot. What he sees as assuming a fake Kagerou personality is more likely to be leaving his dissociative survival state, and actually developing a real personality (or healing from his abusive and traumatic childhood if you prefer). It seems that the letters were just as important to him as they were to Ririchiyo. I get the feeling that there may be a plot twist however for the next (and season final) episode.

It's good to see the manga done it's justice. The psychology of Soushi in the past was much better expressed in the anime, and led to a better characterization overall.

It's too bad that Soushi and Ririchiyo's relationship wont be expounded upon, but on the flip-side the darkness approaching Ririchiyo isn't introduced so I'll take it as it is.

If the last episode can keep the tone of the show then this series is going in my top 5. It doesn't really matter if it's filler or not. I'd almost be willing to say they shouldn't even consider making a S2 simply because the story is perfect as is. Trying to do a second season could backfire, but we shall see.

The best episode of this show indeed, too bad is not enought to give a high score overall because the rest was so bland. But waiting the last episode for the final verdict.

Ok seriously.....THIS WAS THE BEST FREAKING EPISODE EVER
When Ririchyo wrote "For the first time" I just wanted to cry so badly.
And then when Soushi blushed and they hugged I finally did cry.
I don't like romance...but this....<3

Aaaaww.. I'm such a sucker for these things as well.
I can very much sympathize that empty feeling. (favorite episode of this entire pointess series lol)
Whoring yourself to freedom?

First, I really don't understand what happened to make him come out of confinement.
He slept with the maid, did she bust him out then? Doesn't that make him a runaway? A male prostitute? Jumping from every powerful female to gain money? Then to have collected enough for his suitable age to lead a life on his own, but then actually still being attached to the role of a servant? The only thing he's learned is to love something with passion and then run after it. But the respect for himself still remains 0. A true relationship, if you look at it from a realistic level, would never be possible.

Too bad they didn't clear up the things about these rich family houses with their demon histories. Just slapstick fanservice, which makes me actually sad because the series actually has potential in that aspect.

Aside from that, the last episodes purpose only of emotional growth, which I find very important too, but only presenting that with it's everyday comedy is just... as empty :| lol

Even if this episode was fabulous to me, I still... can't give it a better score xD;
They're just a tad bit too late. Because there's no room to build that up upon.

Soushi... Wow.. You have more guts and balls than I ever would have. Holy hell dude, what an episode. Loved every minute of it. Love that he was a player and he lived a lie... except.. how much he cared about Ririchiyo. This is 10/10 for me and I hope they don't screw up the ending.

Soushi gets a +1 from me because of this episode, but this raise does not mean I like him as an overall character: [Throughout the entire anime, he gets very sappy and sparkles whenever he displays his deep affections for Ririchiyo which is annoying. How many times does this part have to repeat itself before one understands that Soushi deeply cares about her?]

Soushi's past is over exaggerated. I think they could have explained his back story in less time. As for Kagerou, I thought he was going to remove his mask in the elevator. XD

Well it was a clan of his kind after all or maybe he could actually turn into 9 of himself, who knows. Sleeping with maid might not help him out of the confinement but that was the first step he learned how to trick and treat a woman.

While I really loved the episode and felt sad for Miketsukami, I cannot endorse the fact that he sold his soul to get out of his life in confinement. Something, somehow is keeping me off from bumping my rating to an 8/10. :/

On the other hand, while the episode was entirely about Miketsukami, Kagerou changed the way I thought of him, just by a simple note that said he was sorry. More like, that one note made him my most favourite character in the Ayakashi mansion. :)

Next episode will be the final episode, and I would have loved to see more, maybe a second season?

As for the other note, really missed Nobara. She is so damn hot! It's a shame that she isn't interested in guys. T_T.

Great episode. It was really nice and sorta sad to finally find out what Soushi had went through. Loved the way they played out his feelings and personality in the past. And that last scene with them hugging each other was just so sweet to watch.

Even though the episode was all about Soushi, damnn I think it showed just as much development for Kagerou in those few short minutes. So he didn't want to write the letter just because of his childish handwriting and not his goofy attitude. And he says he actually regrets it :/ now I feel bad for him as well.

Just one episode left ftl.

It didnt. He only said he lost his virginity to a maid. Slowly he learned from this sexual encounters how to lease the people that came to take care of him which slowly earned him a bit of freedom in his house. Then he managed to womanize the most important woman of his family and it was that one that allowed him a modicum of real freedom which he inmediately used to contact an outsider family (Kagerou's family as we can see) and it was that clan that basically smuggled him out of the Miketsukami clan.

So it was baby steps: being with the maids taught him how to please others. Pleasing important clan members earned him contact with outsiders. Appealing to outsiders earned him freedom from his old clan.

It was a very sweet episode all in all. Yes, Miketsukami basically gets revealed as a psycho but he's more like a psycho in rehabilitation. You can tell he felt a connection with Ririchiyo, and she felt a connection with him too when he revealed his hidden thoughts in the last letter. So yeah, he's a "little" obsessed with our Chiyo-chan but who wouldn't be in his position. Personally I think they need each other, but Miketsukami still needs to learn how to abandon his poker face and show more emotions.
