Seems like this show is in background mode now, we learn a bit about the whole team and while we're at it also about the major. Not bad, not bad.

I love how the "commander" couldn't really do squat. The Major practically lead them all.

Rookie Batou! XD

The way I think really doesn't change much, does it...

Great episode though. That ending shot of Saito hahaha.

"You're good with that rifle, you son of a bitch! From now on, you're mine."

Well played. Amazing episode! I'm guessing the movie reference was Full Metal Jacket? Been awhile since I've seen that, but I immediately thought of that sniper sequence from that film.

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.

The smirk on the Major's face when she recruited Saito is my favorite part.

A really fun stand-alone episode.

Wow what a backstory Major is as beautiful as ever even when she fighting, damn Ishikawa called Batou stupid I wonder what he will do if he calls him that again, and Major got another name Queen Kong.

Oooo we got some backstory for him. I think we just need backstory for one or two more members of Section 9, if I'm correct? The Major is badass as usual.

2GIG has had a really slow start but as of episode 11 it really turned around to be a worthy sequel to S.A.C. imo, personally still don't consider it better than S.A.C. but there's still 12 episodes to change my opinion.

The last few episodes devoted to character development have been phenomenal.

Cool, that characters that are usually not in the spotlight get fleshed out. This was a great backstory episode

This episode is one of the ones that always stood out in my memory from when I watched 2ndGig for the first time. Maybe because of the unique setting and it being a background for the a lot of the team.

I love how Ishikawa slaps the newbie Batou around.

Awesome backstory for Saito-san and the Squad! Saito-san finishing off with the Royal Flush after all that talking and teasing was just too cool ffs. "I'll let you y'all off easy today" - That's straight-up fire right there!

Newbie Batou-san was certainly a treat to watch as well xD. Everyone starts off from somewhere, huh? This is going to be glued to the quote for a while, I suppose.

Damn, the Major though. Totally bossing around, that's the Queen Kong for you lol. And that Poker face, now that's what I'm talking about. Who would've thought that the Major was the one who scared Saito-san shitless?

A part of me was expecting this military war setting from the franchise so it's nice to have at least one episode dive deep into it. Loving these last couple of episodes diving into some of the side-characters by the way, hopefully this isn't the last of it.

A brilliant episode, Saito is one hell of a sniper. Shame he isn't given much attention in the story. The music in this episode was too good.

We just got an episode focused on Paz (finally) last time, and now we not only get one on Saito, but his backstory on how he was recruited by the Major at that. His eyepatch has so much more meaning now, knowing it was the Major who gave it to him.

It is funny when a character explicitly says "this character is a badass" but we have seen Major in action so many times that it doesn't feel wrong. I feel the story is true, and them saying "hey that was just based on a movie" is a self aware callback about how their more standalone episodes are based on other movies.

Major always being a badass, a Queen Kong.

Newbie Batou was funny.

This was really fun. We got to see the Major, Batou, and Ishikawa in a group as well as Batou being his first mission with the Major.
I really love them giving backstory towards the section 9 members.

Ishikawa ripping into Batou this episode was hilarious.

I like these background episodes, some Section 9 members are obviously more in the forefront, would have been nicer if instead of creating some space 36 episodes into the show for the writers to pay homage to the rest of the characters, they depicted and showcased these members and their stories/backgrounds more naturally over the course of the show.

I really hope snow made it. Besides the major and her crew her was the only decent soldier in the group. I know he was shot storming the building but it's never confirmed he died
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes

That way I wouldn't have to have any goddamn stupid useless conversations with anybody. If anybody wanted to tell me something they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life

The previous episode is Pazu and this episode is Saito

The flashback is presented in a very interesting way. I hope that the next episode will be a flashback for another character in the department 9

Also, the directing of Episode 14 was very excellent

Saito really had quite the legendary run in when he chose to challenge the major and her unit. This was a spectacular episode that gave us even more section 9 backstory.

I guess Motoko has always been a badass, she had to be with a mission as important as transporting a nuke!
