The season finale just aired today
https://x.com/watashino_info/status/1909945640358134197

And that's it, the truth came out. Miyo has truly embraced her role and abilities. I don't think she should worry about herself any longer. Kiyota's desire to leave the military doesn't surprise me but it does feel like he's grown more as a person this season, especially after being with Miyo.

It's a safe season finale with the way it handled the plot in the end imo.

New project announced

That was the most epilogue of epilogues ever lol. Everything got wrapped up yadda yadda, and 25 episodes later, we finally nearing seeing the so called happy marriage… finally, that last scene says at least.

It was and okay season, certainly a downgrade from season one, but not by much, i guess. More or less just comes down to me caring less about the whole fantasy aspect, but yeah. Going with a low 7 here.

P.S that staff list at the end is a fucking joke lmao.

With the fiasco surrounding the Gifted Communion coming to a close, Kiyoka issuing his resignation to the Imperial army, which the Major General finds it hard to accept the loss of someone so significant, the former fervently supports Godo leading his team from now on, with his duties fulfilled. That said, Miyo confronting Arata about the sequence of events since he was briefed from Prince Takaihito about Usui and sided with him to get dignity back to the Usuba name, and then betray him when the time was right, it's heartbreak for Miyo, but one she had to endure for someone whom she ultimately cannot change.

The wedding dress for Miyo being just as lovely and pretty, albeit the petty complaints between Mizuki and their mother, made by her in-laws as a family heirloom for their weddings, the long due date between her and Kiyoka has been forthcoming to finally see the happiness of their relationship, having a part of the Kudo family's family possessions and simply enjoying their private time together. But Takakura coming unannounced to greet them with the bearer of news, by bringing the couple into the Imperial palace to protect the Imperial Family, it's Miyo's Dream-Sight ability that's the key to protection for the current times where a defense network against supernatural users is not established.

Godo being reluctant to hear Kiyoka quitting the military, as much as Miyo herself supporting him to share her ideals with Takaihito, having to use her supernatural abilities would mean losing the happiness that she has long sought after all this while. And the Prince fervently supporting her, as well as the exchange of gifts between the two with Miyo's hair accessory and Kiyoka's hair cord, the happiness of the two, finally bonded in marriage.

A resounding safe ending this is one, after quite the intermittent delays. Season 2 fulfilled all expectations, regardless of how it turned out.

BUT WAIT...a new anime project? What could this be?

“But it seems I can no longer be without you. Miyo you’re the most important part of my life. Please would you like to marry me.” Ahhhhhh the tears won’t stop 😭 perfect finale. This was the perfect place to end the season and turn the page to a new chapter for our couple. It had a sense of finality about it though, so I was starting to feel disappointed we didn’t see the actual wedding, but we’ve got another project announced so I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Everything with Naoshi and Arata went about as I expected it, figured Arata had planned to betray Naoshi from the beginning, but I still feel a bit sad he went out the way he did. I think he probably felt there was no redeeming himself and that he deserved to die. The fact he saw so much of himself in Arata he didn’t even consider him betraying him is also a bit sad, he was very human after-all.

Got so emotional at a couple points in this episode, first of which being the wedding Kimono scene. Miyo not being able to inherit her mom’s wedding kimono made getting such a precious heirloom from Kiyoka’s family hit that much harder. The mom is such a fucking tsundere too, she know damn well she loves Miyo 😂

Generally the second half felt like an opportunity to reflect on the best part of this season, Miyo’s character development. Going back to the spot where they had their first date was so sweet. It’s a night and day difference. Miyo is so much more confident and assertive.. just so happy for her really.

Speaking of assertiveness, could you imagine miyo from season 1 turning down the freaking Prince?!!! After everything she and Kiyoka have been thru, they fully deserve to live a peaceful quiet married life and for the time being they’ll get that. Even the Prince was happy for Miyo showing off her growth by turning him down!

And that ending scene ahhh such a beautiful finale I can not wait for the next project. Hopefully I’ll finally read these damn books soon 😭

I went ahead and watched the raw, unsubtitled version of Episode 13. I read the light novels anyway, but there's still room to be left amazed.

The musick by Evan call is an eargasm.

Fuyu is cute as always when teased by Hazuki.

Miyo's white kimono looks great.

Kiyoka tenders his resignation as commander and recommends Godou as his replacement. They went to the late commander Godou's grave. I'm not sure if this episode mentions what killed commander Godou. It is an enemy that will only start to become relevant in the next incarnation of this anime.

Miyo meets Takahito. IIRC, she says that she doesn't like to use her power but to be with Danna-sama.

The composition between Miyo and Kiyoka is an absolute stunner, facing each other with the sun overhead.

(Edit to add some dialogue:

Kiyoka says, "Miyo, omaewa watashi no inochi da." = Miyo, you are my life.
watashi to kekkon shite hoshii = with me, please marry, I want.)

Kiyoka asks her to marry him, and Miyo says yes [hai], gladly [yorokonde]. I love you [aishite imasu], Kiyoka-san and not danna-sama.

I'll still rewatch once the episode with English subtitles come out but that's enough for me to mark it complete. It won't change the score and the substance of my review anyway.

Overall, a great season but could have been better.

So after the ED, the key visual used for the sequel can be seen.

Finally! No more delays! Let’s finish this! 26 minute season finale tho 👀

My 18th Winter 2025 anime finished! Took a couple extra weeks, but we’re finally done man. Another chaotic season people tryna separate Kiyoka and Miyo, of course it was family related again, but this time it was Miyo’s side 😅 that’s good Kiyoka’s mom warmed up to Miyo in the end too. Terrifying mother in law. We got a couple beautiful kiss and confession scenes too which were awesome 🙌🏻 great Seiyuus Kaito Ishikawa and Ueda Reina!

Also, we got a new anime project announcement for this yesterday! 👀 Season 3? Movie? We’ll find out!

It finally came and the 2nd season came to a close

I want to say I am happy for them but I can't help but wonder if they are making the wrong decision by not going to the imperial palace

I hope they would be able to live a long and peaceful life

but with great power comes great responsibility, lets hope they will not get into any more trouble in the future

watched raw, then just finished English subs. It's still great. Yay!

The composition of the sun as a lingering presence to both is awesome as the sun is a symbol of life and renewal.

And Miyo not holding on to her power is admirable. I forgot where I read it, but there's a philosophy behind it. Perhaps non-attachment in the Buddhist sense? She is not really attached to her power, but others would envy her position because they will abuse it.

It might've been delayed a bit, but the last of my Winter seasonal shows is now complete. =)

Arata was in my bad books for a while, but his talk with Miyo in the hospital did clear up what his true intentions were, which does make me forgive him to a certain extent. Hopefully he won't do anything too ambitious like that again in the future.

With that sorted, the rest of the episode was mostly focused on Miyo and Kiyoka. They now have the true happiness that they want with each other and their moment overlooking the imperial capital at the end was very sweet and wholesome. Overall, this season felt no better nor worse than season 1, which for me, was a pretty good run. I do look forward to seeing what the new anime project for this series becomes in the future.

My Happy Marriage should be renamed to My Happy Engagement since they never got married, but hey, at least she's happy.

Honestly, the ending was good. It felt safe but honestly, I don't want any more drama dumping itself onto them. I also heard a new project for this, but from what I heard, there are only two other light novel volumes out and one of them is just side stories, so maybe it's for that?

And we finally reached the end. Best part? Miyo is happy, and that's all we wanted.

Favorite moment though? Gotou becoming Captain America (Or the Japanese equivalent).

Overall, it was a great series. I hated that it was available on Netflix, which does not work for me (and I had to search for cats... Nyaa), but in any case, I was so glad to be able to watch it at all. We have to wait and see what the new project is about.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

And just like that they redeemed Arata...

Seriously lol, when the whole series is named after a happy "marriage", but even after two complete seasons, the marriage itself is yet to seen. I think I liked the first season more, as you see, the drama and stuff might actually be something this series should've continued instead of going full blown with superpower and stuff.

God dam I love Kiyoka and Miyo so much their so amazing to see grow as characters and gradually develop as people. If I had to say despite season 1 somewhat dragging towards the end I feel like I preferred season 1 to this season. I mean I loved this season and I think generally it was handled better than the first one but I just enjoyed seeing Kiyoka and Miyo adjust to eachother and fall in love during season 1. Essentially I just like seeing their romance more than the actual plot.

I loved season 2 though, there was great development for a lot of characters and big plot leaps. Getting to see Kiyoka's family learning more about Miyo's mother and father and seeing how they handled Naoshi as a villain I generally enjoyed. I also came to like Arata a lot more this season and that blue haired girl I honestly forgot the name of I also really liked.

I love how the season ends though with Kiyoka leaving the military and him officially proposing to her. A great wrap up to the season.

I saw there's a new project been announced so Im quite curious if its a season 3 what exactly will happen. I mean if literally the whole season is just seeing Kiyoka and Miyo enjoy their time together I am not complaining in the slightest and it will probably be much better than the first 2 seasons. But I imagine some new plotline will spring forth.

Great season overall 8/10

The Usui thing didn't go as planned for Miyo. Thats probably a reason for such messy end to him. I wasn't a fan of this but this is just to leave Miyo dissatisfied even after his powerup. Which in turns makes her reject Takahito's offer and leave more peaceful life. Kiyoka also leaving kinda bugged me but he guilt tripped himself into joining so prioritising himself is not bad decision. These two went through a lot they deserve a retirement/brake from these.
The last scene was so beautiful. Kiyoka proposing her (again?) and Miyo also calling his name...

May these two live happily forever♥️

First season is still better but this also wasn't bad. Episode 11 was the best of the series imo. And whole Usui plot was quite good. He was a intresting villain although his end wasn't as good as I expected. It was fine.

I'm so glad the white kimono is a hand me down. I appreciate this series a lot for being realistic/prudent about such things. Miyo's kimono as well - they are beautiful and there and only however many of them there were. Three, was it? Nice and realistic for a super rich noble woman.

I wonder if there's going to be a third season. The wedding will probably be covered by an OVA, but there's still more material to cover than just that, surely.

I thought it was strange that the episode hadn't come out, turns out Netflix hasn't uploaded it yet.
Still, I think the first season was better. The resolution with Usui and Arata was too rushed. The whole double agent thing with Arata didn't play out properly: honestly, it felt like he betrayed them and they just forgave him
At least Miyo and Kiyoka are finally about to get married. It was a very sweet ending.

Beautiful season's finale that could easily be the whole anime's ending. Even without their wedding being shown (maybe another time, haha), it was better than I'd expected it to be.

We learned Arata's point of view, we could see Miyo and Kiyoka entering a new path in their lives, and both of them had to make tough decisions regarding what will happen with them and their powers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the second season of this anime. It was a really solid one. I think it was superior to the first season.

Miyo practically going against the "with great power comes great responsibility" mindset because it's too much for her. Uselessness at its finest.

OK-ish finale. Miyo x Kiyoka scenes were alright but then there were parts I kinda disliked such as Miyo refusing to help Takaihito and of course, them somehow forgiving Arata despite him putting some bullets in Kiyoka and making Miyo suffer far more than Naoshi did in retrospective.

Bad season overall. Even worse than Season 1 and that season was already underwhelming enough with its poor execution of dramatic romance and cartoonish antagonists.
First couple of episodes with Kiyoka's mother were a pain to get through and author justifying her actions by turning her into a tsundere mom was almost insulting, Naoshi as antagonist also left a lot to be desired, storyline regarding Kaoruko's character as well as her past as Kiyoka's former fiance didn't lead to anything interesting, Arata's double agent plan lacked depth and despite what everyone says, Miyo's character development throughout this season didn't end up being as remarkable as one would expect. She continued to keep her premonitory dreams to herself during the first half of the season and despite having arguably the most OP ability in the show, she still managed to be relatively useless during most of the tense situations.

*sigh* As I said when I finished Season 1, fantasy elements and politics only make this story worse. Miyo and Kiyoka's romance, though corny at times, is already solid enough so author should focus solely on that instead of trying to attract other audiences with genres they clearly can't develop that well.

3/10 - Still waiting for the anime's title to make sense, by the way. "My Happy Marriage"? More like "My Stressful Engagement" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Kiyoka resigns from his position as the commander, recommending Godo for his replacement. As I expected, Arata had been a double agent. He joined Naoshi to make him lower his guard.

Oh the Kudo family bickering was lovely. They spent good times.

Miyo is being invited to the Imperial Palace. She declines the offer in front of Takaihito. I like Takaihito more and more, like he’s the one who knows everything and wishes the best for everyone, atleast for our leads.

Oh the first time she used his name. They didn’t show the wedding.

I'm soooo glad this is over. I think this might be the worst romance series I've ever watched. Everything from Mio's character to the plot just didn’t click with me. Maybe modern shoujo just aren’t for me. I thought there would be a third season, and since this one concluded on a definite note, I was determined not to watch a single more episode of this borefest. But the main story is practically over, I guess? Overall 5/10, since the art was beautiful and Kiyoka was an okay character.

Perfection! So many stories and Anime end at the climax of the story, but the climax of the story isn't the end of the story. It's like fighting an air battle, once you've shot down your opponent, you still have to land the airplane. So many great stories are ruined by omitting this important step.

It was a unique and beautiful story, and not mindless drivel that so many otaku have become addicted to. The wind-down of the Meiji period of Japan was a fascinating time and there's so little information to help us Americans learn of that era. With the coming mechanization of Japan, the looming WWI era, and the upcoming militarization of the government, this peaceful period between Samurai and Kamakahi is something that should be celebrated.

I loved this wind-down and wrap up of the story, the plans of Miyo and Kyoko, their preparation for the wedding and the blessings from the prince. It was wonderful to sit back and see the change in their relationship from their first meeting. This was a delightful and satisfying ending to a masterfully told story. It was a joy to watch this anime and I can't wait to watch it again and again.

This season was so much weaker than the first one, I just couldn't bring myself to care about anything that was happening with the magic-related plot. Took me a while to finish watching this anime. This season was overall kinda boring tbh. This series peaked during season 1 episodes 1 to 6. I'd give those 6 episodes a 9/10. After that, the story quality gradually started falling off.

The thing that people look forward to when watching this anime is the relationship development between Kiyoka and Miyo. But this season felt more like watching a shounen show rather than a romance anime. Also, that Arata dude gets on my nerves ever time he appears on screen. I've no idea why the author made such an annoying character.

Overall, I'd give this season a generous 7/10. I'm not really looking forward to watching more adaptations.

I finally got to picked this up again.

Sumi and Naoshi were just unfortunate, they could have lived a better life together, both of them suffered when they were separated, Sumi did what she can for the family, and Naoshi thinking the world has to change because of what happened to her. I guess now, they can get their peace in the afterlife.

I really love how both Miyo and Kiyoka chose to spend their lives together away from their responsibilities, Kiyoka stepped down as a commander and Miyo rejected the offer to serve in the imperial palace. They deserve to live in peace.
Miyo was all alone in the beginning, but now she has the support of the whole Kudo Family, her own (Usuba) Family and their acquaintances, just seeing her become happy has been very rewarding.
I wish this season ended with their marriage, I feel like this was more on the supernatural side of things rather than their romance. Still, I quite enjoyed it.

Finally! The "Happy Marriage" we’ve been waiting for has begun. Took two whole seasons for them to actually live the "Happy Marriage" the title promised. I was honestly just hoping we’d at least get to see their wedding ceremony, but nope :( oh well, seeing them kiss twice this season really satisfied me :'3 never expected Kiyoka to leave the military, so now he’s basically the Big Boss, huh? Not a Commander anymore. Ahhh Kiyoka and Miyo’s domestic life! Hope it gets adapted in that new Watakekkon project (ʃƪ^3^) ♡
