| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Shikimaru is already an amazing Chuunin he can only get better with time. I think he will lead the perfect team to bring back Sasuke. I was annoyed again by Sakuras pathetic behaviour and I'm glad she will not be on the mission I am however sad that Lee hasn't recovered enough to go with them. |

| Shikamaru's talent never ceases to amaze me. Some times i just have to pause during his briefings just to follow along. He is a brilliant tactician for missions and is definitely deserved of his title of Chunin. Who would of known, the once laziest ninja of konoho would become such a legendary figure head later in the show. btw this "promise" that naruto made to sakura is one of the critical decisions for the remainder of the series. If most of you have been paying attention sakura is finally starting to realize that naruto is not useless and is starting to think of him as a very important person. She is placing his full blown trust into naruto now instead of always thinking of him as a nuisance that gets in her way of love. |

| Shikamaru is a tactical genius and I'm so happy to see his character being put to use. I'm kind of relieved that Sakura didn't join their squad, she would've just slowed them down. |

| Love the little team they formed. I like Sakura but her crying and uselessness can be a little annoying sometimes, I just wish they had written her a little better or at least had a female character (around their age) that's as strong and useful as the boys. |

| Okay okay. So they explained why no one was paying attention to Sasuke's scuffle and such, but at the same time, you'd think after an invasion they'd leave more people to look out for things. Or perhaps it'd be better to just have genin going on more missions? Or ya know, promote more genin to chunin so you can get more higher ranked missions completed. Idk. Honestly, a lot of these genin are really mature for their age. They do have a lot of emotional problems which might hinder their missions, but at least they're relatively capable. At least Shino's out on a mission though. I guess my biggest thing is if you don't even think these kids are capable of being promoted to a higher rank then how do you expect them to protect the village if stuff goes down? Because if they're out on missions they're already a bit weak to be holding down the fort, so it's not really that big of a deal if they're not there when folks invade again. ...At the same time, having all the higher ranks in one spot does seem like it'd be easier to take them all out at once if you had a special way to do so... Welp, I ain't hokage for a reason. :U Multiple. Including the position not being available... also in multiple ways. U: |

| nice, Shikamaru is one of the very few Naruto characters who isn't a total retard, I'm glad we get more focus on him and his buddies, who aren't completely worthless as well. although I'd rather he didn't pick Naruto as a part of the team but oh well |
