It's impossible to explain to people who weren't there at the time what it was like to watch that, going in with no idea what this thing was, no expectations, having never seen the things it pioneered before. Other fantastic openers include KareKano, Read or Die (OVA), Flip Flappers and Zombieland Saga. I suspect Code Geass would have had a super-effective opener, but I watched it in the wrong order so I didn't get the chance to test that. |
