I think this show has a theme of humanity, meaning that there's a balance between being human and non-human while fighting the urge to control themselves.

The thirst for flesh aside, there's still exploration which seems to be a recurring trend in the show by now. Wonder what other secrets are there in that labyrinth...

It seems that Rentt's dream of becoming a vampire came true in the end.

Rentt explores once again the uncharted territory of the Labyrinth of the Reflected Moon. In the midst of the labyrinth, he encounters a man named Loris Kalierro and decides to withdraw from the exploration to return Loris to Malt. Rentt not only saves Loris' life but also helps him with his debts, earning deep gratitude from Loris. However, Rentt himself is struggling with an impulse to seek human flesh. Unable to endure it any longer, Rentt loses control and attacks Lorraine.

Now you see why he turned into a ghoul. He's got this appetite for feasting on flesh, and not in a romantic way, mind you. Well, becoming undead doesn't promise much else, but it's weird how this urge only kicked in after dealing with that giant skeleton. I always thought ghouls were higher up in the evolutionary chain; most stories say if you don't become a vampire after a bite, you end up as a ghoul.

As for the Labyrinth of the Reflected Moon, it's got its pros and cons, but for Rentt, it seems to be delivering more cons, lols.

Rentt pretty quick to take down the giant skeleton even before OP start.
In this Episode, it revealed that Rentt just like other gouls. He too consume flesh and blood. Poor Lorraine got ambushed but luckily she realised it and chant sleep magic. Afterward Lorraine got to see that Rentt suddenly get form more natural like human, and it 'cause Rentt consume her blood. Because if it from the Giant Skeleton he more like get evolution to next stage.

Good Episode overall.

Another piece of Rentt adversity, fighting his undead nature. A nature that helps him to grow, but at the cost of losing his much treasured humanity.

Lorraine definitely want that undead meat.

I like how the author really put thought into their world setting .
Like mc turns into a Ghoul, so he has desire to eat human flesh uncontrollably
It's unlike a lot of those isekai shows with many weird gimmick but the author never bother to come up with the consequences for those gimmicks.

Looking at other super generic reverse isekai shows with your super typical game setting menu/level up system from this season which got rated 8.4x >.>

Anyway, my point is there're like 123124125 generic isekai show out there with the same boring game setting menu/ game setting stat, typical fantasy creature like goblins/ dragon/ slime.
Then you have this fantasy show which actually take their time to come up with interesting power systems/ evolution system, on top of detail monster ecosystem, which is very rare nowadays.

The giant ton sure proved to be a tricky opponent. If anything Rentt's terms are way too one sided. I guess paying off debts is a common enough reason for becoming an adventurer. Looks like the evolution also creates a sense of bloodlust within him as well. And given that he's a ghoul perfectly understandable. Still its a good thing that Rentt can use healing magic. Leaving such a wound till morning sure sounded dangerous. The mask getting the ability to change at will though was a nice touch. After Lorraine's talk curious as to how far Rentt can change himself. Though have to say Lorraine's drastic change from calm and collected comrade to overeager scientist really was scary.

Rentt facing the giant skeleton boss, he's in a rather intimidating solution, both as an adventurer and an undead.

Yet still, Rentt managed to defeat the boss and heal the rookie adventurer Lorris Cariello, thus bringing him home safely to his wife Isabelle. The deal, however, would be for him to being Rentt to his Red Dragon Restaurant to eat for free, despite it being a one-sided affair that he's OK with it either way. However, Rentt has evolved in a way that he soon begins indulging in human flesh, leaving Lorraine in a still hopeful situation of saving herself from this rather unkempt issue.

Rentt's ghoulish body is something that Lorraine has expected, though he repents by healing her with divinity, which she is surprised by his growth. The cursed mask, however, still can't exactly be removed from his face, though he's still not in a position to show himself like this in public, despite having gained existential evolution that's closer to a ghast by consuming human flesh. Lorraine's assumption then, is Rentt taking form in the shape that's closer to a human rather than a vampire, and this is still under experimentation, so she still has to do experiments on him to test of his ghastly appearance and properties.

Apart from waiting for a new sword, Rentt's life is back to normal, and back to the labyrinth he goes...

This. The fact that the series even explained how monster evolutions work or that the dungeons and their existence are mystery being studied by academics rather than just a thing that exists because the settings needs it is a huge step-up from the usual by itself.

Some more information on the existential evolution, I'm interested in what the research of Lorraine will deliver. Speaking of Lorraine she certainly didn't mind the sudden hug and she claims to want to strip his clothes to experiment on his body... but we all know what she truly wants ;)

Ghast evolution ☑️ our boney boy is working his way up the ladder that’s for sure. Rentt is one step closer to at least looking human again.

Rentt not only saved Loris in the dungeon, but also got our boy out of debt, that was big. Now he has someone to go into shops for him and other places where Rentt isn’t comfortable going yet.

I knew as soon as he saw Lorraine that something was gonna go down, but damn I didn’t expect him to take such a big bite out of her like that. Good thing she was able to knock him out and bring him back to his senses.

So every evolution for Rentt will have different requirements. Whether it’s defeating certain enemies or eating flesh/drinking blood etc. I like how the series explores the drawbacks of all these different phases of his new life. A lot of reincarnated as a skeleton/beast series just kinda play it up for gags, but this series really delves into the pros and cons. Hope my boy gets his vampire level up soon. But it’ll probably require him beating a vampire or something.

Lorraine definitely wants that undead bone. She and Rentt are so cute lol

The blacksmith is such a bro for not blowing Rentt’s cover even though he knows it’s Rentt he’s letting him come out on his own terms. Real friend

Can’t wait for next episode. This is such a cool and nuanced show. Lot of worldbuilding, I like the MC a lot and it’s just pretty interesting seeing such a grounded story

Lorraine and Rentt's dynamic are what make this show not just generic trash. I hope the narrative commits to it and Rentt doesn't run-off and isolate himself at some point "for her safety". Too many of these shows go for the loner tryhard Batman trope.

Damnnnn, I thought rentt was losing his humanity bro... he needs to be way more careful... if someone finds out there's an undead living there, bro's really gonna die. Also, some nice dark souls vibes💀💀

It's good how the show gives its world rules subtly and explain them later, straight and simple, i liked it👍

Also, the ED is growing to me.....🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Rentt has a fine chick at his beck and calling. Is he oblivious to it or...?

Maybe he'll have to bite 10 or 100 people for the next 'evolution', interesting to see how it'll be approached, might just be a 'luck' thing.

Loving this show, I quite enjoy fantasies with adventurers and while I love isekai it's a nice reincarnation anime and yes the evolution explanation is awesome. I wonder after this cause he said he wants to try it on someone evil or bad so will that be the next type of person he takes a chunk out of.
Hehe if he does become a vampire is he gonna be a pretty boy or more scary awesome looking

This incident was quite a roller-coaster. I never anticipated that things could escalate to the point where Rentt would lose control and bite Lorraine. Despite all of this, Lorraine still remarks, "If you're going to devour me, do it when you're sober." So, I suppose the existential transformation is underway, but there are many factors at stake here, including Rentt retaining his humanity.

A great episode where we learn some new things about Rentt.

He can easily kill a Giant Skeleton, like it wasn't that long of a fight.

Rentt also had a urge for flesh and blood that he held back from Loris, however he couldn't hold it back from Lorraine but that was probably for the best as we learn that he may have evolved ever so slightly.

Vampire has to be end game here.

Sweet, so this is the route he is aiming for, I was hoping he would go to the doppelganger route but well vampires are one of the top tiers in the undead class aside from the lich and vampires can also evolve further into vampire knights, vampire lords and even more OP tiers like the True Vampire/Ancient Vampire which are technically no longer damaged by sunlight and silver and they are no longer of any need to ingest blood for sustenance (sometimes they take energy from human emotions).
Looking forward to how he progresses
PS Lorraine really wants to be devoured by Rentt, huh

Rentt proved himself the bigger deadhead rather quickly with that giant skeleton boss fight, that was damn fast lol, but I think the rest of the episode made up for it. After saving the restaurant owner Loris, Rentt secured himself a free food source and someone to buy things for him at shops, and I’m ngl Loris’ wife was pretty cute, he’s got a babe right there lol. And the bit after this took me by surprise but it makes sense that Rentt wouldn’t have complete control over this new form, but I’m thinking it’s definitely more than just a craving or urge, that felt like he was a different person almost, very interesting.

And then came the scene where Rentt chomped Lorraine, the wound ended up being pretty tame but it looked gruesome and I thought it might go further, Lorraine is definitely the one person he would probably be safe biting tho if that last line about being devoured anytime says anything lol. As bad a situation as this was, we did end up getting more info about existential evolution and Rentt even went from ghoul to ghast so he looks a bit more human now, and the mask has a mind of its own too, so it wasn’t all bad times at least.

So at this point, it's clear the blacksmith and wife are probably his parents or sth (and the fact someone up here commented clearly showing to be clueless abt it, funni)
I mean, already the interaction they had in ep 3, blacksmith's wife acted she was rentt's mom, I would be surprised if this wasn't the case...

Idk if this was more faithful to the novel compared to the manga, but I didn't like how they changed the exchange with restaurant guy.
In the manga, Rentt doesn't make the deal for the stone while in the dungeon, instead he tells him he wants to see if he was telling the truth and to bring him back to his home to prove he really needs to pay off a debt. After that he accepts to give the magic stone to him and shows his ghoul arm to both him and his wife, and at that point makes the deal, and both of them wonder if he's dumb for selling the stone for that cheap.
In the anime they cheapened the scene greatly.

Anyway, I like the pacing of this story.
Sure call it generic, but the 101 generic fantasy manga would've spent 12 episodes with him as a skeleton before even hinting he could evolve as a ghoul.
Here he already evolved twice in 4 episodes.
Not wasting time, and I like it.

This series is getting better at world building. 🤭
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

OOF, Rentt took a bite of Lorraine.

Tho she probably IS delicious. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But the most important part is... Lorraine said "You can devour me any time" (I would devour Lorraine all day every day (--Y--)(°ᗨ° ) nom nom nom)

She gave her consent, now if only Rentt still have "that down there..." LOL

(also, "can't pretend to be damaged good"... seriously, SHE WANTS IT, damage her ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )

Tho... would this count as Lorraine doing Necrophilia? (she wants to strip Rentt and do things to him... LOL)

.

so... Rentt's wanting to become a human again is what's determining what sort of monster route he evolves into, going into Humanoid looking monsters.

But... is Vampire the only humanoid route? there are other humanoid looking monsters out there, tho most with obvious monster parts. Like ones with tails, multi-legs, wings, etc etc.

Imagine at the very end he somehow existential evolves to Demon Lord, or actually Heavenly beings as he can use "holy power"... Dude evolves into God, LOL. (probably Demon Lord, since he's aiming for Vampire, which is more toward the "dark side" of monsters)

Guys I’m telling you there’s some chemistry going on between Rentt and Lorraine we all know she wouldn’t mind getting with him romantically she even said she wouldn’t mind him eating her😭

My boy is a few more evolutions from becoming a full fledged vampire🙌🏽 I find it really funny how Rentt just simply gave up on becoming a human again, bro knew he got no more humanity left and looked for an alternative immediately💀💀💀
