It's a Shounen about the suffering of Genkichi. He's the one who endures. The one who suffers through it. It's brilliant, and I hope the plot will evolve from this. |

| Those were my thoughts exactly. Poor Genkichi working his ass off and only eating a bun while Joe is out there making money at the side. I can see this developing into a great character driven story if done right. |

| Wow, Joe is such a dick. I mean, the millionare woman is clearly taking advantage of the children to make herself look good. Well, maybe not clearly but that's what I think of it. With the press and all. But, him using the children and most likely Danpei just kind of rubs me the wrong way. Pretty sure he's not getting Danpei a gym either. |

| Joe's villain laugh at the end of the episode was hilarious. I rarely ever find it funny when characters laugh on screen, I don't know why but the exaggeration in this case just got me. |

| Hahha Joe you bastard, a smart bastard indeed. It's kinda sad he used the children though. But a sharp minded like him, wouldn't care at all. Not only childrens, but Joe is playing with Danpei too. Poor guy works hard every day to get Joe a gym, but the latter it seems doesn't care for boxing at all. This is what I'd call a wasted talent. Joe better get on his senses and start boxing asap. So far the show is good, loving the atmosphere. The seiyuu of that little girl can be a little annoying though, but I like it. |
| This part of the manga wasn't nearly this well written or developed. Dare I say it, but this might be better than the manga by the end of the series. |

| Dammit Joe. Genkichi is working so hard while believing in Joe is just fooling around and using people. At this point of the story he's an asshole. I'm sure he'll get his development though. Really see potential in his character. |

| That's basically a win, win, win situation. For all three fractions. Joe gets money, that woman positive attention and the press headlines, even though it's morally not justifiable. There're still losers, though, the children, cause they gained nothing out of it and Danpei who's working his ass off while Joe earns a fortune :D |

| Top 10 most delusional characters in anime Both Yohko and Joe are so evil, one can't do things without the news being there to say how much of a good person she is, and the other just goes around trolling and saying lies, that was a win win for both. I feel terrible for Danpei, the poor guy is working his ass off, I hope Joe does something good for him in the future in exchange q_q |

| Holy Crap. Joe is the biggest scumbag I have seen as a main protagonist so far besides Light. He is so different when I compare him to the main character of the other popular boxing anime, Ippo. Although I did come for a Boxing Anime, I am glad at how AnJ is changing the formula of sports. Joe hasn't even put on Boxing Gloves yet xDD Loved this Episode. The pace is finally picking up 9/10 |

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English. |

| I appreciate this comment section seems to understand that while Joe is a shit-head here Yoko isn't much better at this point of the story (and Joe isn't completely wrong in his judgment of her). This is not just a story of growth for Joe, but for every character |
| This is honestly making me mad at Joe. Seeing Danpei being deceived like that, all by Joe is just awful. This episode was good. The next episode has a high rating so I'm looking forward to that. |

| Poor Danpei, putting everything of himself into training Joe only for him to be slacking off. On the other hand it's nice to see Danpei finally see a reason to live again after wasting it for so long. |
