While Re: Zero is the only good one out of these 5, if its just enjoyment, then I would recommend Mushoku Tensei and The Rising of the Shield Hero since they have some degenerate fanservice that you can enjoy.

I've tried reading the manga of Jobless Reincarnation multiple times and haven't been able to get through the first volume. Something about the series just doesn't click for me.

I would say the one series out of the bunch that was the most enjoyable for me is Konosuba because the voice actors of the series really bring the series to life. It definitely has a funny storyline but it's got to be the sound design that makes me enjoy the series more than anything.

I can't remember the exact name of the series, but it was something like Over Cautious Hero that I found to be very entertaining as well.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

All are below average.

Re:Zero:-

I am a little biased for R:Z because of my fav character but excluding her (in terms of world-building and story), it is 3/10 at best (although I am still being too kind here). Only reason it is successful is because of waifus. The author keeps using repetitive themes and a lot of fan service. New loli characters, protagonist regressing and getting back up, there is always one "experienced" waifu-type like Echidna in almost every arc, the "everything was part of my plan" Aizen rip-off type character every few arcs, etc. The series should be renamed from Re:Zero to "Repetition from Zero".

Overlord:-

Overlord was interesting at first. But now it is just one-sided massacre by the protagonist. No one can oppose him which eliminates any sort of competition or threats to the protagonist. We merely see the ways in which the "all powerful" protagonist executes his plan. The premise was interesting but now it is boring. 6/10 at best.

Jobless Reincarnation:-

Jobless Reincarnation (Mushoku Tensei) is R:Z rip-off. The protagonist is copy-paste of Subaru from Re:Zero (the WN version Subaru not LN or anime Subaru). Author tries his best to make us empathize with Rudeus which he fails terribly at. Rudeus is extremely boring as a protagonist and the waifus in Mushoku are there as "Pokemon" type for Rudeus to collect. I'd give it a 4/10 rating overall.

Konosuba:-

Konosuba is extremely boring and while some jokes are funny, it just becomes repetitive over time. Nothing to talk about the plot since Konosuba is meant to be just comedy. 5/10 from me.

Shield Hero:-

Shield Hero was good at first. But after a while, it just becomes another generic harem type with everyone sucking Naofumi's dick. Naofumi's character remains stagnant for almost the entirety of the series and the girls around him are just simps. I'll give it a 4/10 rating.

Overall:-

Almost all isekai anime are "escapism fantasy". They are successful because:-

1. The audience sees the failure protagonist go from zero to hero and people in that world start acknowledging the protagonist with girls head over heels for the protagonist. In the real world, no one noticed the protagonist but in isekai world, he gets friends and girls who love him so the audience finds it easy to "self-insert".

2. Because of waifus. Whether to fantasize about marrying them or as fap material. There is nothing wrong with it of course but it is not my taste.

Is that an opinion or an attempt at facts? When you say successful, do you mean sales or actual quality of the show? Since if we're talking about the quality, then it would be a 7/10. Only without Natsuki Subaru would it be a 3/10.

In case this was an attempt at trolling, then my bad. I will try harder next time.

I thought Shield Hero and Overlord were awful. Truly awful. Konosuba was just ok. ReZero was great until the second season ruined everything. If I had to choose my favorite it'd be ReZero but none of them are very good. Iruma-Kun is my current favorite "generic isekai" with Zero no Tsukaima in second place.

Juuni Kokuki is the best isekai but it's different. Not generic at all.

Rezero and mushoku tensei are the only good ones that are listed. Konosuba is funny, but I don't really take it too seriously as an "isekai" as it's more just a comedy anime for me.

Konosuba has a decently funny humor that works well with the short series length. In fact, when it came to season 2, the joke had played out. But season 1 was enjoyable for me.

Shield Hero started out with an interesting premise, but the execution was mediocre, and everything eventually tended toward mediocrity.

I haven't seen Mushoku Tensei but it sounds like incel shit, so I probably won't.

Re:Zero has a very interesting setting that's abjectly destroyed by terrible characterization, including the self-insert incel protagonist that everyone in the show seem to congratulate. If you could stomach in my opinion the second worst protagonist in anime history after Yuki from Future Diary, then it might actually be decent.

I should have voted "Mushoku Tensei". I mean I'm living in a new decade. So if I'm hung up on anime from the previous decade, it would only serve to disadvantage me in the long run.

But it's Japan's fault. Re:Zero has spilled in to the 2020s, which makes it relevant. Hoping s2 of Mushoku Tensei trumps it.

Konosuba - funny, enjoyed it but would be better without the fanservice
The Rising of the Shield Hero - generic isekai + edgy, didn't like
Jobless reincarnation - generic isekai with OP MC, MC being a creepy pedo makes it even worse
Overlord - didn't watch
Re:Zero - enjoyed a lot, different than most generic isekai

Out of the choices, Overlord was the most enjoyable, for me, because of the cast of characters, there's more to "enjoy/entertain" with the anime because everyone had screentime and a story and character overshadowing seemed non-existant.

Personally Re:Creators, El-Hazard-The Magnificent World and Fushigi Yuugi-Mysterious Play, are my favorites.

@swirlydragon Fushigi Yuugi has a female MC and harem of guys, so not all isekai are the same, anime does pull reversals from time to time.

Your opinion has been noted though, I'm not gonna fuss at you about it.

Overlord and Konosuba are my top isekai animes. It was difficult to pick one out of them.
I picked Konosuba because I enjoyed it from start to finish. It didn't miss anything. The comedy in Konosuba stood out more and it was really funny. Keeping up with Kazuma and Megumi was lovable and hilarious

Overlord was great as well. The OPs (Clattonia, Go Cry Go and Voracity) were amazing. I love some punk rock! Loved the misunderstandings and the characters. Some of its comedy was a hit and miss but I understood the others.

Another considerable one: is Meikyuu Black Company. I thought I would hate this one but I actually loved it. The humour, story and characters really captured me. That's all you need to get me interested. the MCs was an interesting character you don't see every day especially if watch a lot of Shounen animes. Meikyuu isn't shounen but I watched a lot of shounen animes at that time so it was a great change. It was awesome. Most MCs strive to be pure and good but this guy said 'Fxck it! I will scam all of you!' Hahahahahahahaha!

Haven't watched Re: Zero. And I don't really like Jobless Reincarnation. It was weird. Not everyone rides with this anime.

Re-creators was awesome! I love the reverse-isekei concept. I hope there would be more animes with reverse isekei. A pretty fun genre to consider.
Characters in the animes were awesome as well. Altair, Megane, Yuya and Meteora. But you disagree with Meteora because you find her boring.....T-T...I disagree with Selesia because she's the generic tsundere type. I am not a fan of most Tsunderes.
