| Cowboy Bebop. It's not mediocre but after like ep 13 or so, it was getting a little too repetitive. So after that i was watching only because I liked the characters and because i was told that the final 2 eps were great |

| Anime with focuses at slice of life or comedy? character motivation are what makes up a plot and plot is what defines the character. Both are corelated. While one can be more focused than another. I dont believe or felt a mediocre plot with great character. The most a mediocre plot can produce is bearable character. Probably the reason why I am yet to have a character favorite even from a anime slightly scored lower by me |

| In response to the OP, yeah Iruma-kun is a damn good example of this, but its mostly by design. Moriwaki (director, script, storyboard) is all about a focus on lovable characters with actual plot often being taken for granted. Hence why I'm a little concerned about later seasons, but I'll stay optimistic. For me, the first thing that came into mind was the Dream Eater Merry anime. I've heard the manga is better and look forward to reading it Eventually, but the anime is absolutely carried by Merry being such a cool character in her designs and attitude. The plot is half-baked, but I stopped caring around episode 4 and was just invested in what Merry was doing, lol. |

| Ehh, I dunno. Comedy anime like Nanbaka or Saiki? Since the core premise is pretty basic but the characters are the center of it? Or those... hmm I dunno if they have a name, but like. Those where a team of people with abilities is formed in a regular society, and they fight criminals with other abilities, while also helping regular people. Stuff like Bungou Stray Dogs, Kekkai Sensei, Hamatora, Darker than Black, etc etc. I think I can name more that work the other way round. An interesting premise or world but with mediocre/sh1t characters. Aka lots of wasted potential. |

| Yuki Yuna is a Hero is easily my favorite anime, but because of the ending I would consider the plot to be below average or even really bad. Luckily it had 2 characters that completely carried the first season. I initially rated it a 9, but quickly recognized that wasn't fair, so it is currently sitting at a 7, but I could be convinced it could go as low as a 6 or even 5. |

| Kono Oto Tomare, the plot is fine. It is what it is, but it really could be anything because the main cast is the most likeable cast in an anime that I've seen in forever. Just such genuine, pure, honest, sincere, kind hearted characters. |

| MHA plot is kinda generic, but Bakugo carried the series for me. Didn’t really care about the other characters though. Konosuba doesn’t really have a good story, but some of the best characters in anime. Mob Psycho story sucks, but all the characters are great. |
