I will be honest here. I do not think this is the best Gintama movie. I think "The last" was better with all elements of Gintama in a nice Original story. Still it was the almost perfect conclusion for the series. Gintama truly is a special anime, and i kinda "feared" this moment and was "hoping" also for it. It started as something to me weird and silly, then we grew with this characters that alot of shows dont do this for us. I was disapointed with some "plots" that stayed unresolved, or like some "ships" that didnt at least had some moment. Didnt feel as "finished" as FMA, with them with their partners and showing truly how their life went. The other hand is a good thing, was kinda sad knowing what happened, Spoiler: Years passed and they are all dead, but of course its Gintama, it was just Madao trolling. *End of Spoiler* So it kinda left with some finished bussiness as it should, at the same time, it left things "open" with our favourite trio being Forever Yorozuya. Which is the perfect ending for the series. And it left things open, specially the kind of format Gintama has, for future specials or movies, which i think Gintama can deliver with its formart. As i get older, i see the shows and series who left a marc on me, Gintama is truly one of those. It truly is special and the characters are like people we grew during our lifes, specially for people for years following the series. In a way, its kinda one of my life chapters also closing. Perfect conclusion for the series, i wish they could had touched some other things, like ships and such, but in the end, we got the perfect ending. Hope in the future we will see this trio in some way again. If not, i will be happy anyway too. One hell of a ride.

At last I was able to watch the end of Gintama today and... I just don't know what to say because I'm still coping with the fact that my favorite show (alonside Jojo) is now over. For one last time Gintama has managed to make me laugh to tears, especially with that Dragon Ball recap lmao But there were not only laughs, I'm not usually the one who cries when watching in company (I was watching with my best friend), but Takasugi's death really broke me and also the very end of the show (before Ginpachi-sensei). The last Ginpachi-sensei was hilarious! Takasugi asking "Am I dead? or alive?" was so freaking funny! lol DOES' and SPYAIR's songs were amazing as always! It was only missing an Otsu one lol This has been the most amazing ride I've had. This show is so important to me, it has made me feel emotions like no other. It has brought me joy in my lowest times. I'm sad and can't believe that I have to say goodbye to it and to all its wonderful characters. I still have a long way to go with the manga but it's not the same (and now I know how it ends, also). But just thank you, Gintama. Thank you, Sorachi-sensei. From the bottom of my heart.

To be able to make the viewers leave with the same impression we had since starting the series, you just gotta love Gintama for doing that. On a side note, I wish I had known about the prequel specials before watching this film :v

First off I have to praise the opening recap, as it made far more sense of the semi-final's events than actually watching the semi-final provides. As for the conclusion to that story arc... well that's not so great. Aside from the climatic Utsuro fight it doesn't play to the franchise's strengths at all, with most of the content being generic battle shounen movie fare (i.e. the entire cast comes out of the woodwork to 'shine' in a giant arbitrary battle). Well executed, sure, but ultimately not what makes the franchise stand out above other battle shounen. Finally we come to 'Part 3', the epilogue; it's effectively a standard Gintama episode. Nothing in particular to either praise or complain about here. Overall I'd have to say this movie is notably worse than Yorozuya yo Eien Nare. Which is not to say it's bad or not worth watching, but it's just nowhere near the same level. Better off to consider that the actual finale to the series.

| Ah, it's classic Gintama that they started the movie with a recap (of the Semi-Final) added with parodying Dragon Ball, haha. The movie was excellent (cause I'm biased), even if it had any material cut or I feel that something's missing, I can just read the last five chapters of the manga or just don't think about it too much. I didn't mind that Takasugi got reborn(?), I was expecting that they were leaving that part vague, and "Teach Me, Ginpachi Sensei: The Final" answered that question. Love that the credits are referencing various Gintama EDs! Thank you, Gorilla-Sensei, for giving us Gintama. 10/10 | Also, "Zura janai, Katsura da!" |

I kept putting off watching this, even though I finished the manga ages ago, somehow watching this would make it feel real... Gintama really is over... I have been re-watching random episodes over the years, I guess this empty feeling is finally a reason to start re-watching from the beginning in order?

Gintama: The Very Final has already been touted as one of the best anime films ever made but does it truly live up to the hype? Well, yes. Considering how this movie serves as the finale to a beloved series that ran for nearly 15 years, this kind of reaction was certainly expect. If you have come this far into this series, you already know that you're going to enjoy this movie especially since this is an incredible ending. As for me, I have always been rather neutral towards the series. It's certainly in my Top 50 but I was never in love with this series as so many others. The thing is I love a lot of the comedy moments of the series, though some of the toilet humour can be rather off putting, and I love when the series gets incredibly serious especially during the second half of the series. But the problem is when both the comedy and drama collides with each other and it just doesn't gel with. A lot of people give Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood a lot of crap for seemingly killing the tension in a lot of scenes by incorporating humour into them but they don't seem to bat on eye when Gintama does this on a daily basis. Now you could argue that it does type of tension breaking works better in Gintama but that defence is completely objective as it certainly took me out of the story a lot. This is one of the reasons why I prefer when the story is predominantly light hearted eventhough I still love it when the story gets serious. This same problem do arise in the movie but fortunately not as much as I thought it would. The best part about the film is the final fight scene which absolutely lives up to the hype and is absolutely masterful in terms of cinematic execution and absolutely goosebump inducing. I also adored the recap sequence at the start of the film. I admit there were two moments in particular that almost brought me to the brink of tears. I have been watching this series for nearly a year now and while I have my problems with Gintama as a whole, I do feel sad that the series has finally come to an end. Most anime don't really get a proper ending so it makes me happy to see such an adored series actually get a chance to say a goodbye and boy does it deliver. 8/10

10+ years, what an amazing journey start to finish. Can't believe it's really over... Only Gintama is able to excel in hilarious pee pee poo poo style of humor and yet also maintain extremely thought-provoking psychological and philosophical implications with themes such as trauma, companionship and maintaining deep-seated legacies. I laughed and cried back and forth throughout the movie and it's very sad to see this wonderful franchise go. But I'm happy it happened! Farewell to Silver Soul and cheers to Hideaki Sorachi. 🥂

What. A. Journey. Gintama is hand's down my favourite anime of all time and after this Gintoki became my favourite character in Animanga. What a spectacle. Emotions were through the roof with this one, little to no flaws at all with this movie hence its a 10/10 without question. Gintama's been an anime i started off for fun when i was bored months ago, not expecting much but a few laughs and some good fights. But this, this anime alone made this 4-5 month journey incredibly worth it. There were times when i took a break, times when i watched 10-15 episodes a day, times when I didn't have the energy to watch it and left it for weeks. After this movie though, it makes me want to watch it all again and experience the whole journey once more. What a brilliant way to conclude this masterpiece of a series, its one ill hold close to my heart for decades to come and tell my future generations about, this really changed the way I live my life and view things in general. Gintama is the greatest experience I have ever had, and probably will ever have in my life in watching a form of media. Yorozuya forever.

Gintama is a series that I have been watching for some years now, and I never truly binged it, I just went on with it and it felt right. It was therapeutic watching the occasional episode of Gintama after a long day or between other shows. That is, until I reached the fourth season, that is arguably Gintama at its peak, while also starting the whole Utsuro/Shoyo chapter (which was a much teased main plot, finally developing somewhat). Well, I couldnt contain myself anymore and basically marathoned all subsequent content left until I reached this very movie. Gintama was a journey of many things, not just of comedy or action, but truly of many emotions and feelings. However, I believe it started losing that special thing it had sometime after that amazing fourth season. It never stopped being great, though, just not as memorable. The fact that I binge-watched the rest of the not-as-great seasons, may have had a saturation effect on my enjoyment of Gintama, and because of that, I did not "feel" this movie as much as some other arcs of the TV seasons, or as I thought I would. Nevertheless, "Gintama: The Final" was a fantastic ending and a very entertaining movie, with plenty of action, funny Gintama moments, and truly a deserving conclusion of a very special "comedy" show. And so, I had to leave a final comment on the Gintama forums, and to some extent, say my goodbyes to a journey that at some point, somewhere along the road, became more than a comedy and became something special. 8/10 for a very good movie and finale, and 9/10 to that which is Gintama as whole, a franchise that has a very special place in my heart.

The movie ended at 8 min 10 secs wth xd When the fight breaks out and the song starts playing and the townspeople barge in with Shinsengumi, Karuga, and Shinpachi, looking at them the awestruck face on Gintoki’s face, this is just too perfect. Another perfect moment is when Sadaharu farts Gintoki out and the song plays again, this is just Gintala-like lmao. Also, they really be fighting everywhere ;v My kokoro itai for Takasugi and Gintoki T-T It was a good ending. Loved watching it. 10/10 <3 Ngl I'm hoping they'd say "aye fooled yall" and release a new chapter ;v

This was a pretty satisfying way to say goodbye to the series. I was always more of a comedic Gintama fan rather than the serious arcs but still could feel the epicness. The fight of Gintoki and Takasugi/Utsuro was confusing. I had to rewind it and read the wiki and still am not sure if I get it fully but oh well. I like how every character got a bit of airtime. I liked the part where they reunite with Tama and the world reverts back to Edo - obviously it wouldn't be Gintama-style to end on a sad/nostalgic note! I was not to big on Gintama initially but now after 7 years and all the releases I will definitely think fondly of it. I will prebably re-watch the whole series at some point.

And with that it's really over.... what a long journey it has been. I'm very glad I've watched all of Gintama. I remember when I first started with the series.. and actually put it on-hold for a while because I struggled with the first 15-20~(?) episodes, I didn't enjoy them that much. But I stuck with it.. and I'm so glad I did. This masterpiece of a series, it will always be one of my favorites. There's no show more funny than Gintama, nothing comes close. But all of it has been amazing, not just the humor. The characters, the fights, the voice acting, the story, the animation (although it definitely worsened in the later seasons), the music and everything else.. it has all been fatastic. I will admit that I did hope for some sweet Gintoki x Tsukuyo ending.. or at least a few nice moments between them in the movie, but no big deal.. Anyway.. what a wild, hilarious and wonderful ride it has been. I'm grateful.

I love Gintama as a franchise a ton, but sadly the final movie that I just saw in theatres ended a beloved franchise for me with a whimper. It had its great moments and emotional punches at times (surrounding Gintoki and Takasugi), but mostly felt like a movie that didn't capture the spirit of what made Gintama to be a special series in the first place and felt a bit repetitive and redundant by the end given what all was showcased in Silver Soul's anime seasons. Plus, the visuals were a let down too for the big screen standards. And I didn't get enough of the characters and their fun interactions with each other in this movie except a few times. It's such a shame since this franchise was incredible for 300+ episodes. But the slip from Rakuyo onwards was apparent and the ending while not an awful movie, was a really disappointing one as a whole. I'll still miss this franchise a ton though, and will cherish it a lot. It's just not a 10/10 franchise for me or a top-tier favorite level anymore. But I'm still grateful to the series for all the great memories it's given me, when I saw it 3 whole times. 4/10 overall for the movie, 9/10 for the entire franchise.

They did takasugi's death the justice it deserved. Its weird that the silver soul arc is maybe the messiest part of the series but the epilogue to it is probably my fav part of the whole show with this finale being a big part of that. Just a stellar ending and one that shocks me with how good it was given how rare it is for a long runner to end well let alone at a peak

| I left my theater with a complex set of emotions I really can't begin to describe. The DBZ styled recap was glorious with so many references and the little One Piece segment was awesome too. The segment where they put together Gin-san was hilarious and the fight against Utsuro was awesome albeit a little confusing at first but done in a very cool manner. Takasugi's passing and reincarnation were very emotional but to be honest the really emotional part for me was the final part where Gintama was trying to give us a farewell in their own way. I laughed so much at everyone's antics but I was also filled with such emotion that they were really saying Goodbye for good this time. When the ED played, all I could do was grin. The conclusion to Ginpachi sensei was glorious as well. At the end of the day, I really don't know what to say. I'm at a loss for words but I'll try to leave something here just so it's put in writing somewhere. Gintama has given me so many things, I don't even know where to begin in order to give something back. I've laughed and cried with Yorozuya and everyone that this end makes them feel like dear friends who are leaving me behind to goto a place where I will never see them again. It's stupid, I know I can always rewatch the show but the fact that it's over leaves me with a poignance that I cannot describe, it's something I can never get back but I truly am glad that it happened, that this was an experience I had in my life. It's a stupid, wacky and weird story but it's fun, compelling and most importantly it's full of a heart that has touched me in so many ways. For as long as I live, I will never forget everything this story, these characters and the way of life they have imparted to me. As long as breath remains in this life of mine, know that I will carry the spirit of the Samurai in my soul that has been colored a lustrous silver. Thank You Sorachi- sensei, for all your years of hardwork. Must've been hard to stop playing Sekiro and write Gintama but I really am grateful. Thank You Sunrise/BNP for this incredible anime adaptation that carried the glorious spirit of the manga. Thank You for everything Gintama, it's been a long journey, one that I am glad that I was part of. I will live my life the way I always do but I'll make sure to do it with a shining silver soul. | I cried like 6 times this whole movie. And when it finished I couldn't stop. I can't imagine what it's been like for people who've been following this series for longer than me. Takasugi and Gin's final moments were beautiful, by the way. Finally, I can say this, but after I finished the Yagyu arc I searched up Kondo and in the google results one was "Kondo death" All this time I thought I got spoiled but it was probably talking about the real person LOL Well... this was an amazing ride. I've never cried or laughed this much and the one series that made me turned out to be a cartoon! Thank you, Gintama, for letting me accept who I am and letting everyone know that we can live our lives however we want. | It wasn't really good. Animation was sometimes bad, comedy was mixed with unnecessary drama and action scenes wasn't good (well, Katsura fight not that bad, but feels too rushed). Huh, I'm bit dissapointed, but well, shogun assasination arc was a peak, arcs after that was a way weaker, so I'm not that surprised. |

It's finally over... And I do feel slightly disappointed. It was amazing, the emotions, soundtrack, and comedy all felt on point. The animation on the other hand was debatable. Some of the shots were exceptional while others felt like the production team seriously cut some corners. However, I won't hold it against the film itself since I watched it online and couldn't see it in theatres where it was probably less noticable or just plain better, and from clips I've seen the blu ray version also fixes most of the animation problems. So long Gintama. I would make a joke about Yorozuya being forever but thats the wrong movie.

That DBZ opening + Sabaody reunion was gold. lmao Man, that DBZ OST though, it's so nostalgic. RIP Shinsuke. His redemption arc is finally complete. I really thought Gin was gonna die during that initial onslaught. Also, it seems like he has been reborn as well. Good for Matako. What a journey! and as expected it ended in Gintama fashion. I'm gonna miss their antics so much, especially that skit in the end. Gintama is one of those unique shows for sure. Also, nice to see some of the waifus in school uniform. I wish Soyo, Tsukuyo, Nobume and Asaemon were shown as well. 9/10 It's a good thing I was busy with many other things during the time Sorachi was so busy playing Sekiro and the release of the movie delayed. I didn't have to suffer the agonizing wait!

It may have not kept up it's incredible quality ALL the way through it's 367 episodes and movies (as much as that saddens me to say), things were slightly never the same after season four ended as the balance between serious and comedy began to shift towards more frequent dramatic arcs. IMO, Peak Gintama was 90% comedy/parody with some tonal shifts sprinkled in there (Season 1-4). It made for some incredible viewing that way and the impact was that much stronger when we did see shit hit the fan. I'll never forget Gintoki's first scene of absolute rage (episode 210 IIRC?), that was one of the greatest moments in anime ever for me. A little ironic that Gintama became what they liked to parody at the end, but that's the price you pay when you add in these little backstories and mysteries a little at a time, there must be a climax eventually... Not as good as early Gintama, but still very entertaining and emotional in it's own way. A top five series for me and I'll miss it greatly. |

I love Gintama! I was wondering how they were going to top off Forever Yorozuya opening scene. They didn't disappoint. What a masterpiece <3
If you are going to disagree with me, don't bother talking to me. I will seriously hurt you!
