| I honestly haven't seen it yet (will do it soon) so I don't really know comparatively but I'll just throw Kimi ni Todoke in the ring since both the anime and manga are amazing. It does have some slow/boring moments when it focuses on the side characters but the stuff around the main couple is top tier. |

| In my opinion Natsume Yuujinchou is an even tie with it. They are good for different reasons, but both are favorites of mine for sure. |

| Utena, Tutu, Kaleido Star, Cardcaptor Sakura. These are loved by everyone, even by those who dislike shoujo as a genre. You have to try Sailor Moon (avoid Crystal and watch the original one or read the manga). Also, there is the big franchise of Precure. They say it's good, too. |

| Well personally I'd say: His and Her Circumstances - kinda the granddaddy (grandmamma?) of the genre Aishiteruze Baby - almost criminally underrated I'd say Kimi Ni Todoke - a popular, mainstream hit Escaflowne - What has kind of become a forgotten gem it seems. I mean a little over 20 years ago this was the Gold Standard of the genre basically. |
| Titles like these is what causes toxicity. Skip beat is a pretty good shoujo although I haven't seen Fruits Basket so I can't say if it is better or not but from what I've seen,it goes somewhere along the lines of "Must watch Shoujo" as I enjoyed every episode of it and Kyouko(Mc of skip beat) character development is fantastic. |

| i haven't finished it yet, but gokinjo monogatari (neighborhood story i believe is the english translation) is i'd say better than furuba, yet to see any other of ai yazawa's more popular works so i'm not sure if they're better than neighborhood story or not. |
| Kimi Ni Todoke is my favorite shoujo so far, so I'd say that it's better than Fruits Basket lol But then again, who am I to judge when I haven't even finished watching the 1st season of fruits basket... In the end, it all comes down to personal preference sooo...yah |

| Is Maid sama and Golden Time consider as shoujo ? if yes; they those two are really good can't say better. Although for me the best shoujo is Boys Over Flowers but it haven't received any decent adaption so far , I hope it get remake just like Fruit Basket someday. |
| Furuba is my favorite shoujo anime at the moment, and what's better than what always comes down to personal preferences. But I want to recommend Kaleido Star, which I think has a format closer to shounen where it focuses on MC's dream/goal to be a top (acrobatics performer). So I think that show can be enjoyed by non-shoujo fans as well. |
| I've only seen the first season of Fruits Basket and I've heard people say it gets better, but based on the first season alone there's a lot of shoujo I rank above it, like Cardcaptor Sakura, Full Moon wo Sagashite, Aikatsu, Lady Jewelpet, Saint Tail, ect. |

| i like itazura na kiss more than fruit basket. thats about it. i dont think there is any other shojo which i like more fruit basket. atleast not in anime format. tbh i don't see feel like that would change for me anytime soon |
