| Thinking back to when you were just getting into anime, or that period of time when you were really rabid about anime when just starting out, how do you think your younger self think of your tastes now? Maybe vice versa? What would you think of them? Honestly my younger self would wonder why I like so much older stuff and dramas. I would tell my younger self not to watch so much garbage. |

| The younger me was close to 18 when he started to watch Anime. And he was into Harem and Shonen. If he toke a look at a lot of my favorites the younger me would not really understand how I could like Maria-Sama, Chihayafuru, Fruits Basket and EVA. I think he would be really disappointed amd cunfused about some of my favorites. But then again, I have a huge amount of favorites that the younger me would love. And the younger me would curse himself that he waited more then 8 years before he started to watch them. And he really would curse himself about that he didn't start to read manga earlier too. |

| Probably wonder why I dislike MHA Seven Deadly Sins now. Also the fact that I like Slice of Life anime since when I was young I couldn't watch anything that was not action packed adrenaline filled shows. |

| Similar with some replies above, he didn't realize yet that SoL is probably the best genre in anime. Although he would also be probably delighted that I regard some old Gainax and Ghibli animes in high tier. Talking about Ghiblis, it could also be a wonder to him why I regard Grave of the Fireflies as better than more fantasy-like works like Princess Mononoke (they are both still among the best though). |

| I was a big fan of fighting shounen anime back then. Now, I got tired of it and prefer to watch light, slice of life type anime. Fighting anime like Jujutsu Kaisen or AOT just don't make me hard anymore. Edit: I forgot to give my answer, but my younger self would probably praise me. |

| My first encounter of anime was probably about 3 to 4 years ago now, and I was a part of that stereotype where people say "Anime is bad" even though they haven't seen it, which I feel stupid about being a part of. The first encounter was on a now non-existent gmod DarkRP server back when the TV's mod worked and someone made the very smart decision of queuing the entire first season of High School DxD that was all in one video that had been on YouTube at the time, since taken down from what I know of. I slowly began to like anime, my old self liked that genre because that was what I had started on, when I had seen everything that wasn't crap I moved on to everything else. But if I'm being frank, my old self probably wouldn't mind though when I REALLY started getting into anime was two years ago around in April, so the me at that time probably wouldn't have minded as long as the show was good. |

| I usually used to watch weird romcom, harem shows only(which I will never put on my MAL list). Then I slowly got into shounen from one punch man and BNHA. Then I started Drama from Violet Evergarden . Then I started enjoying every genre. And now here I am really happy to be able to enjoy anime |

| My taste hasn't really changed all that much over the years. When I was really young I loved watching Pooh Bear and Hamtaro. As a teenager I got into My Little Pony and various other cartoons related to it as well as some Disney sitcoms. Now I like CGDCT, idol anime, magical girl anime, as well as some older anime. I think I could sit down and watch the shows I like now with 5 other versions of myself who are all different ages and we'd all enjoy whatever I decided to put on. |

| I don't think my tastes really changed much from when I started to actively watch anime. Yeah when I first started it was mostly science fiction anime movies, but at the time I wasn't trying to spend money on anime tv series and anime on cable wasn't a thing where I lived at the time. But I think I got hooked on harem anime when Tenchi Muyo aired on Toonami a couple years later or when I watched AH My Goddess overseas when I was stationed in the Republic of Korea. |
| Wow you got way more into anime. I guess something like that. My tastes never really changed it just expanded a lot. I still enjoy battle shonen and sports titles for instance. I wouldn't really understand the appeal of some moe CGDCT shows, why something really boring like Mushishi is in my top 5 and why I like some yaoi now (I was pretty heavily in denial of being bi just 4 years ago). Honestly years back I thought my interest in anime was dying I guess I would be pretty happy it ended up being a long term hobby. |
| My younger self would be shocked to find out that her favorite anime/show of all time (Naruto) is not even on my Top 50 nowadays. Also, she would be bored out of her mind with LoGH and wouldn't understand why is on my favorites. But she'll be happy to know that I still love Digimon a lot. |

| My younger self would be wondering how I got this far into anime to find so much stuff to watch that no one's ever heard of and literally collecting Japanese-only artbooks lol. I'm also sure that my younger self would be very surprised how much my mind has changed on stuff like the 90s Sailor Moon anime and Tokyo Mew Mew as a whole. |
