I really wasn't a fan of the 2001's version. But I'm really liking this remake. I like the new art style and the bg musics are good too.

A very emotional episode :)
1. Apparently Tohru's mother was in a youth band 😎.
2. Your cousin is an idiot ... hahaha, I laughed when he confused Yuki with a woman.
3. Grandpa loves it, is a good person. "... I would be happier in a place where I could spread their wings [...] If there's any place you want to go, that's fine."
4. Tohru is such a kind and grateful person that they want to hug her. Whoever ends up next to her will be blessed with a great friendship and an unconditional love.
5. It was obvious that Yuki and Kyo would miss Tohru, she won her love in a short time.
6. "Is not a selfish request okay sometimes? It's okay to complain, or to be selfish, or to get discouraged from time to time." "This is not a perfect home, but welcome." And the story continues 😊.

PS: In the previous episode I thought that the grandfather had died :( It's a relief that it was not like that.

Sigh.

I really, really want to love this series as much as I love the old one and it's just not quite happening. I'm enjoying this new adaptation but I'm just so aware of all the parts where it falls down compared to the previous; this episode was a definite example of that with the pacing being right off. The soundtrack really lacks the character of the 2001 series too, deadening the emotional impact of all these scenes. The sudden changes of mood, the moments of tension and melancholy aren't there. I'm looking forward to some sadness and more serious episodes just in the hope I might feel a bit more than I have so far.
90s J-rock was our aesthetic peak.

Return to form after the Kagura episode. Heartwarming stuff. It's okay to be selfish sometimes, Tohru!

This was one of my favorite episodes of the original series, and with no exception, it still is. I just do love the bond the three of them share. There is nothing but warmth and love coming from all of them. Just feel so grateful I get to see all my characters anew <3

Amazing episode! We’ve our candidate for ‘best grandpa’ right here too!

A very touching and emotional episode, this! Seeing Tohru trying so hard to hold back her feelings in the first few minutes was very touching! She’s a really good girl, cooking meals for her mother even while sick. Seeing those family members thrash on her like that was seriously sickening to see but good thing the grandfather intervened in time to settle things. Yuki made one heck of an entrance though, I must say. Lol @ that shitty son though, still bewildered over Yuki’s gender xD. Got to love that whole sequence of Yuki stealing the memo followed by Kyo’s search and Shigure’s ridicule, gah I’m really starting to adore this cast! Tohru and Shigure is my top pick for now but I feel as though there’s more to Shigure than that catches the eye so I’ll keep that to myself for now.

I haven’t mentioned this before but damn I’m really loving the Op, ED and the soundtracks of this show! Animation quality has been choppy every now and then but it’s still great compared to the 2001 version, I can’t help but get high hopes for this!

Damn, this episode finished quickly.

Tohru's grandfather is so nice to her. He's the best grandpa of 2019.

Indeed, a very sad episode. Can't wait for the next.

trash people who are Tohru's relatives. It feels like there's too much drama.. could Tohru just have politely say goodbye to her kind grandpa and leave the house instead of doing all that crying? The drama feels forced by the writers. Yuki destroyed that asshole, serves him right. Anyway, despite the complaints.. Tohru going home with Yuki and Kyo made me smile.

This was a beautiful episode. The themes of having a shitty family, having a chosen family and that it's okay to be selfish once in a while were handled very well. Definitely the best episode until now.

I noticed that they adapted a single volume in these five episodes. That might explain why the pacing felt fairly slow at times. I hope the show can deliver more great moments like these, since they have a lot more manga material to cover.

Excuse me? How dare that asshole treat my sweet Tooru like that? Anyways, so grateful to Grandpa for interceding before I snap. MVP of the episode indeed.

Well, leaving aside the fact that both Yuki and Kyou basically kidnapped Tooru, it was another lovely episode. Now, she has a place she can finally call "home", yay!

Great episode. This home drama lasted less than I thought it would.
No one would want to live with such a family. Hiring a private detective... talk about going overboard. At least Gramps is a decent person.

That was amazing. What horrible relatives Tohru's got, especially her aunt and male cousin. But damn, that's one great grandpa even if he can't remember her name and mistakes her for her mother lol. I thought Tohru slapped him, but it was grandpa. Best grandpa I've ever seen in anime.

That insert song was so good.

This show is just breaking my expectations. I didn't expect it to be this good and wholesome. Love it!

Hiring a private investigator? That's too much and that megane obnoxious guy thought Yuki is a girl? He's scarred for life lol. Good thing Tohru's grandpa is the one who slapped that megane guy.

I like the Fruits Basket game part especially when Tohru held Yuki and Kyo's hand.

AND THIS

and Yuki's blushing (≧▽≦)

I loved this episode, I was crying all the time! She must miss her mother so much, and now she had to leave a place she could finally call home. She puts up with so much because she thinks she doesn't deserve it but hopefully as she grows she can be more loving to herself. Glad she came back to the Soumas'. Looking forward to the next episode :)

First great episode of this anime. Did not think I would be tearing up so early on.
Some great scenes, the opening scene with tohru and her mom was great but yeah, tohru saying she wants to go home hit hard. Best grandpa in anime as well.
Also, haven't been a huge fan of Yuki thus far but that flick was absolutely legendary. Truly loving this anime so far.

Also, this anime just plunged .1 points from 1st to 5th. Stuff like this makes me really ashamed to be an fma fan, this stuff is sickening.

Grandpa is da real mvp although sad that he confuses Tohru's name with that of her mother.

The dramatic scene of Yuki and Kyo getting Tohru out of her family house definitely shows that this is a shojo series lol.
