Mhm... the last episode changed my rating again. Did Endeavor lose his eye then?

Definitely, but that would only make him cooler, or hotter whatever he refer lol

This season was great and if you don't liked it then this is not the show for you, stop being a elite in a genre that is not for you.
I love this season so much and I'm exited for S5

People talk shit because they are shit, I mean what do you expect from people who rate "Chihayafuru 3" 8,61/10 ?!

this season wasn't great by any means, particularly the first arc. gentle and la brava + the last two episodes were great. looking forward to a gentle redemption arc and whatver the hell happened to midoriya's window. what was that all about?

This season wasn't even that bad, hell, I'd say it was even good. Maybe it's a different experience when you binge the show in a couple of days? I sure as hell enjoyed it. I'm glad some other side characters got a lot of treatment this season. Thank Christ Bakugo only played a minor support role this season. 8/10. Though I will say that the animation seemed to take a dip from the previous seasons, still nothing too much to cry about.

This Season was so Bad, the pacing was terrible, everything felt like a huge Big filler, powers has no rules, convinient plot devices, Heros are Heros cuz why not since they have so much time to be at school while you know real Bad guys take a Nap or whatever, no rush, am i right?

According to this series ALMOST everybody has a quirk yet in last Episodeโ€‹ de amount of citizens is outstanding * roll eyes* ... People need to be saved, isnt ? Bit everybody were a Hero is Season 1 , what the f is Happening with the amount of plot holes, this is a shonen anime? Feels like a slice of Life with powers they spent all the time at school doing projects , when do they fight Bad guys ?

best episode of this season

i like that nomu is behaving like how Endeavor was in the past that wanted to be the strongest so its a nice character development for Endeavor to overcome his past self

And is that a good thing. That just makes Nomu a plot device with no personality.

Great episode well directed, with really nice animation and music so loved this one but overall a very disappointing season, almost made me quit for good, so i'm expecting a lot for S5, maybe they should aim for an ending like Demon Slayer already, but that way this world wouldn't get the development it so urgently needs to get better.

I've been a member on this website for over 10 years and have never participated in a discussion or review before from what I recall.

Y'all are crazy for not liking the first arc! I mean, what kind of high expectations do you have? It was extremely entertaining. The music wasn't memorable (as was the rest of the anime) but it was mostly palatable and only occasionally cheesy. The fight scenes were amazing, not everyone lived happily ever after (like many stories end) which gave it a sense of reality, and the way they focused on different characters in different episodes were insightful and showed growth. And they weren't done in a tacky way like it could've been.

The second arc was meh, not quite filler, with some character growth, but not my favorite. Eri is cute. I am a fan of her, and I am looking forward to seeing her grow.

But the last episode BLEW ME AWAY! Y'all I thought Endeavor died like 3 times. I thought they were going to kill him off. We got a taste of what is to come in Season 5 (leveled-up villains, some weird shit with Midoriya) and I AM READY. Honestly, that might be one of my favorite episodes in this whole anime. It was extra good with throwing in his family (especially the wife and Todoroki kid, who are finally coming to terms with his toxicity) and we are seeing growth of Endeavor, too. He's learning from his mistakes and learning from his son. He's learning from the man who used to be #1 who has passed his torch on. Society is coming to terms with a new person to lean on. And yet, so many people are just flat-out hating this anime and ignoring all of this incredible character growth. Yes, it's a typical shounen-style anime progression (upgrade powers, character growth, new villain who levels up, etc etc) but it's done well.

TL;DR: People are way too critical of an anime that is actually done pretty dang well. You probably expect too much from an industry that doesn't even pay its animators a living wage. I would think most people are just impressed but just not commenting, just like I did for 10 years.

So, was Endeavor trying to get an offspring(Shouto) who can carry on with the power of flames but also with the ability to cool it down?

Looks like it! He was struggling from overheating and thought of it something holding him back, which was implied why he had children. That's why he especially thought of Todoroki-kun in that moment, who balances fire and ice 50/50.

I can usually understand why certain anime get a high score on Mal, even though I might not like them. But why this season of my hero academia got a 8,25/10 so far, is just extremely overrated in my opinion.

The first arc with overhaul was fine, but the second part of the season was just extremely boring for me. Even the last 2 episodes were nothing special. If a new kind of anime showed this kind of content, it would have gotten a very low score on Mal, Luckely mha made a name for itself, and people still think it's amazing?

I gave the other 3 seasons a 7/10, and wanted to give this season a 5/10, but the first arc + the last 2 episodes changed my opinion a little bit, so I'll still give it a 6/10.

I hope the next season will get better, cause I feel like mha is becoming another boring shounen, where the power of friendship can solve any situation.

All i can say I'm dissapointed. I had big expectations although many people said that it was not worth watching. So Midoriya gets Power up again and he can easily win against villain . Ohh i am really getting bored at this shit. Why are we even watching it if Midoriya is THIS powerful? There are lots of characters which are really strong and has interesting parts in the show. But, no. We should still spend our time with Midoriya and his amazing skill which can defeat OVERHAUL. At this point I'm not sure if there will be a villain who is really evil and so hard to win.
And another problem is I feel like i watched a HOLE FILLER SEASON with Gentle Villain and some parts of school festival. But im gonna admit that i liked ONLY concert scene and the last 2 episodes because of Endeavor. Its funny but Endeavor was still MUCH MORE interesting than Midora.

I really hope that next season will be way more better if it doesnt happen then we will watch a show that really has big potentials at first but then waste their chance badly.

Ok so unpopular opinion.I like this season.Eri is not overrated and is cute af, Endeavor's fight was fking awesome and the finale and god damn that teaser at the end.Season 5 is going to be about the other wielders of One for all?Why did Deku blow up the room and why did the power activate so randomly.I want to give it an 9 thanks to Chisaki's arc.He was such a good fking villain and I would absolutely love the first 14 episodes if it wasn't for fking Uraraka-shit.Her only usage was so that she won't be forgotten.I hate her (and I love Hado). The Big Three were awesome ,but damn I'm so fking sad that Nighteye died :'( .That moment was just depressing.I will never forget him.Everything about him was great.(And I love Hado so much)
So I'm still wondering if I should give it a 9 or 8 out of 10.
And yea,Gentle Criminal and his dog were meh.It was ok,I felt bad for him.

As much as I like bnha , this season was just not it . The episodes were a bit boring , and overhaul was just ............ . The final scene in the last season made it seem like overhaul was going to be the most badass villain in bnha but turns out he wasn’t strong at all , like he literally got beaten up by a bunch of kids . Surprisingly I enjoyed the filler episodes (Like the bakugou and todoroki episode) more than the actual plot episodes.
As much as I like gentle criminal, I didn’t like the fact that his fight with Deku was 3 episodes long compared to the endeavor vs nomu fight which was like what 10 mins long . I wish they would’ve given endeavor and hawks more screen time like damn. Overall , the season was just not that good but I guess still watchable . It’s definitely bad compared to the 3 previous seasons!

The beginning of this season was awesome, but the second half was such a draaaaag. If the creator wanted to add in slice of life elements, he should have just done it! Not save a boring ass slice of life arc to squeeze in between interesting plot arcs, ugh. What a complete waste of time. I would have MUCH rather skipped the festival and jumped right into the Endeavor storyline that we will most likely see in Season 5. Ugh.

I'm just going to say that Bones ruined Mirio vs Overhaul fight. Ahhh, my eyes.

I do agree; Mirio really performed but literally had the limelight snatched away, had his dreams shattered, as well as losing his Sensei (would have loved to have seen more Nighteye). How f'ed up is that for a promising 'young' character? I truly hope he gets his powers back.

I really enjoyed the ending; Endeavor's redemption, family background, and him going all out. Don't get me wrong, I love All Might and miss him so much, but it's good to see the current number has some fans out there and that the number 3 hero has looked up to him for a while as well as set the stage for him to prove that he deserves the number 1 spot.

Really feeling this Hawk character. His presence is making me turn to the manga, which I have avoided up until now.

They upped the ante with this fight. It was done soo much better than the manga.
And if this fight was done better than the manga, and the same quality holds, the next season gonna be the best My Hero Academia season easily

I think the fanboys overrate this season but I also feel the season is a little over hated. I don't understand why people hate the Overhaul arc as it checks the boxes for what I like in the series and it was pretty sad. I will argee after that it is a little boring but it is important for characters for Torodoki and Bakugo to catch up.

I will also argee the school festival arc while fun is a little pointless but a nice moment for Jiro's character. Unlike others, I greatly dislike Gentle and LA Brava as everything is kind of their fault. Like the show wants me to feel bad for two characters who have no self awareness.

Though, I do it ended on a decent note as I did like seeing Hawks and learning about the ranking system. I feel season 4 was pretty solid but it furthers my point of how My Hero Academia is the anime version of Steven Universe. If you recall, Steven Universe would have really big and awesome arcs and then some okay to boring ones.

8 out of 10

I had astronomically high expectations for the climax of Endeavor versus that High-End and it was as glorious as I had imagined! The intensity of the whole fight, Hawks giving Endeavor the push he desperately needed as a show of acknowledgement towards his determination and efforts to outdo All Might no matter how impossible it was, him defeating the enemy and resolutely raising his fist in the air to show everyone that there's still hope after all; everything was done perfectly in this episode and they did an awesome job of enhancing the experience a hundredfold.

He really did deserve being called the No. 1 Hero and I'm hoping that he'll also be able to mend his bonds with his family soon now that he has realized his sins towards them in the past and is willing to do everything he can to make up for it.

S4 might not have been as good as the previous ones because of how it could've been executed better in addition to this season being the one that covered the less interesting major arcs but they really went all out in some parts and I loved it. Kirishima's fights, Gentle's and La Brava's story, and Endeavor's fight and eventual victory were the main highlights that I enjoyed the most from this season and I'm looking forward to them going Plus Ultra for the later, more eventful arcs.

Deku's finally met up with his predecessors in person and this certainly made me very excited for things to come!

I thought this episode was a nice finish to the season to be able to see what Endeavor really can do. We've never really gotten to much on him besides being an abuser and horrible father. Nice to be able to see deeper inside his character and the fight was off the hook, had me on the edge of my seat. I also liked the hawks assist as well they made a great team.

They're really out here trying to make us forgive a domestic abuser? #1 hero! The symbol! Redemption! Sounds like a crock of shit to me. Also, why end the season on this random Endeavor fight? Nice animation and all, sure, plus the fight was cool. But...random way to end the season. You know what would've actually had impact? Killing Endeavor. The symbol is gone and there is no #1 hero. Would've loved to see the chaos ensue from that. I would've been so excited for the next season. Instead, random fight that ultimately has no impact on the series. Some bullshit story about redemption or something. Lame!

Overall, this season was ehh. Overhaul arc had some serious issues, but at least the School Festival was fun enough. MHA has been going downhill for a while.

Best episode of season 4 BY FAR!!!!

Such an amazing fight of so many rollarcoasting emotions. These fights are what make MHA my favourite shounen. The amazing music in the background seriously helps to raise the hype. Like that moment when the kid is talking about Endevour and You Say Run begins playing. When that song starts you know you're gonna get the height of MHA's amazing scenes.

Honestly I love Endevour so much now from his character development until here. And this fight just solidified him for me.

I love that last after credit scene. Everything One for All or All for One related is my favourite part of MHA.

But here is the end of my long Re-watch. All four seasons and movie 1 (Since movie 2 isnt out yet sadly for this re-watch) done. Such an amazing re-watch. I cant wait for season 5.

"No impact on the series"

Yeah sure the number 1 hero struggling to hold together the peace his predecessor spend his whole carrer building and now finally starting to be aknowledge by society as the new n°1 and at the same time showing his family which includes one of the main character of the series he's willing to become a better person doesn't have ANY KIND of impact on the series.

Well to be honest this was a great finale, but it's not going to change my opinion that much about this season.

This season as a whole was really bang average and threw everything good about the last 2 seasons out of the window. It's like they didn't know what's the selling point of the show. I don't watch it for deep story or characters, I watched it for action, well animated scenes and interesting, creative quirks. This has nothing of it, bar 2-3 episodes only, including the finale, which was the best fight in the season because it simply stayed away from the problems in the rest of the season, and did what the previous seasons did.

First 7 episodes were a chore to watch, then the next 5 - 6 episodes when things started to improve when fighting happened, they decided to add a s*** ton of flashbacks that interrupt the action just to give the characters more depth. No character is going to become suddenly deep because of a flashback for 2 minutes. These flashbacks just f***ed up the fluidity of the action scenes. I'm not against them but they were executed really poorly in this. Too many talking, too little action, and the talking isn't even that fun. I'm sorry but watching Kirishima struggling mentally TWICE in one arc for the same reason was stupid. First one was fine but second time?

And the least said about the second arc of the season, the better, a complete filler and just boring to watch. Even the fight between Midoryia and Gentle was full of flashbacks too.

Very shame. First season was decent but 2nd and 3rd were a great fun to watch for me. Not any deep or innovative, it was just like Demon Slayer, nothing new but great animations, fighting scenes and a very likeable cast. This last season they just tried way too hard to make something different, and to add unnecessary depth to every side character and it failed for me.

I was going to rate it 5/10 for the few 4-5 good episodes in the first arc but since the finale suddenly remembered what's great about the show in first place and provided great slick animations and uninterrupted great fighting scene, I'll raise my score to 6/10.

Pacing felt off with those last 2 eps, that final fight was undeniably epic but honestly came out of nowhere.

Highlight of the season and probably the entire series was Deku vs Overhaul so kinda sucks for it to be foreshadowed by this kind of pacing.

I guess its a fact that on more anime forums here or reddit people rather bitch and find things to complain about then just have a true discussion about a show.
Now me personally this season as I binged watched it before the break found myself disinterested at times during episodes with certain things going and even had to rew-watch a few of the festival arc cause i wasnt paying attention. But these last two episodes ended on a high note the dialogue and dynamics between the new 1 and 2 the introduction of more heroes and the aftermath of the last arcs events and the fight as the end was dope and u could almost feel the emotion going through all the characters as they watched that final fight and En-devours character development within himself to becoming a better person hero and symbol for the rest of japan

Alright so I just finished this season like 2 hours ago and I've been thinking. Sorry if my thoughts are all over the place, I just need to VENT.

This season was a dumpster fire. I watched season 3 when it was coming out with episodes and only JUST NOW got up the motivation to watch season 4. Season 3 honestly wasn't that impressive to me, so I wasn't really looking forward to season 4. But! Everyone online was hyping it up to be this AMAZING season with great development and crazy action scenes and........were we watching the same show??????

I will say, I actually enjoyed the overhaul arc overall. It was very slow in the beginning and had WAY too much build up before anything actually happened, but I was pretty invested in Mirio's story. And that, to me, is pretty sad! I couldn't give two shits about Deku (the MAIN CHARACTER) or his friends at this point. I am overwhelmingly BORED whenever the episodes are focused on them. I get that they're still first years and they're still working on developing their quirks but COME ON. Four seasons in, and Deku has made virtually no progress controlling his quirk or getting better. And he comments on that fact ALL THE TIME. He's like "Oh gee, I'm nowhere near controlling this quirk o' mine, but I'm making progress bit by bit!" And I'm just sitting there like. Come on. Please do something. AnYtHiNg. (and the teachers are NO help lol. They just sit back and watch like "yeah they'll get it")

The only 1-A student's episodes that I vaguely enjoyed this season was Kirishima. Vaguely. His special move was pretty cool, but I've heard that the anime adaptation of that reveal didn't do it any justice. I'm high-key tempted to read the manga just so I can actually enjoy the art and action scenes??

I would say the number one thing about this arc that annoyed me was the WASTED POTENTIAL. Overhaul had the potential to be an AMAZING villain!! His quirk is ridiculously incredible, he has a group of lackeys that aren't JOKES like the league of villains, and his demeanor was chilling. He had a presence (unlike shigaraki who is quite possibly the WORST antagonist I've ever seen)! I loved him as a villain! I didn't fully understand his motivations, though... He wants to get rid of quirks...but he uses his quirk a lot to further his goals and defeat those that get in his way....but he's also developing an antidote??? To bring the quirks back?? Doesn't he hate quirks and think they're a curse on society?? Why would he even make getting quirks back an option? I can't get behind the whole "it's to make a lot of money" explanation they gave because that makes ZERO sense to me.

I also really liked the episodes that were centered around Mirio. I love him as a character and seeing how he interacts with the people around him and how he's grown over the years was great. I wish more time had been dedicated to fleshing him and Sir Nighteye out. Instead of dragging out the entire arc with pointless recaps and flashback sequences. I thought Sir Nighteye was a really cool character too! WASTED POTENTIAL. I was shook when they offed him, because I was so excited to see where they would go with him and Mirio in the future, but no. They're crushing all my hopes yet again with this show.

And that brings me to the School Festival Arc. Good god. I HATED this arc. It was a slap in the face after the Overhaul Arc. You give me THIS boring sack of garbage after having an action-centered arc where my favorite character lost his powers and people DIED? A f***ing SCHOOL FESTIVAL. People were hyping up this ending song that they sang and danced to but I don't caaaaaare. It was boring and as I said earlier, I couldn't give two shits about Deku and his friends. The ONLY saving grace to that arc was seeing Eri smile. That's it.

WHY was this season structured this way?? Usually you would end a season with a SEASON FINALE not Endeavor beating up a baddie with a new character that was just introduced. Not to diss Hawks, though, I actually am interested on where that will go. But dang. What a mess of a season.

Mirio saved this season for me. He is the only reason I'm going to watch season 5. Just to see if maybe we get a glimpse of him. MIRIO IS A BETTER CHARACTER THAN DEKU COULD EVER HOPE TO BE.

the majority of this season... i did not like very much;
the first arc felt like something i've seen too many times before due to the format,
and the second half of the season really felt like a filler and nothing more; i have not read the manga, but it felt like a filler to me

these last two episodes were good though,
always disliked Endeavour, it was nice to finally see something that looked like development to his character, cringe as it was there for a moment,

probably this was the weakest season thus far for me, with half of it being a lengthy rescue-mission and the second half feeling like a filler that could just as well have been left out of the series,
here's hoping for a better season five .o.~!
I like to comment Episodes as i Watch them.

I liked it because I love boku no hero but eh, the first half was great but I really didn't like the arc with gentle criminal or ? forgot his name, he was an okay character but didn't deserve more than 1 ep for how little happened. I binged it in like 2 days, I couldn't imagine waiting an entire week for one of the episodes after the first arc tbh (except for the final 2)

I truly wouldn't mind a few episdoes that are "filler" because I love the characters but the second half really dragged. I wish they explored dekus powers more, really feels like nothing much happened. But I enjoy seeing the characters back on screen so there's that. Still really looking forward to season 5, i'll watch the movie now!

This is 10/10 episode. Endeavor is a really interesting character and his development is only gonna get better. I was honestly way too hyped and cried during the episode.

I love All Might vs AfO and all, but this deserves a spot near the top of the best fights. It's either All might Vvs AfO or this imo.

The first cour (Overhaul arc) was great, I had it as a 9/10. The second cour (school festival arc) was decent, I 'd say it was a 7/10. This small arc was fantastic though, a 10/10 for me.

9/10 looking forward to the next season.

Overhaul's quirk is indeed amazing, and definitely missed the potential it could have been taken to.

On his motivations.. basically, he wanted to see the world fall apart. People so dependent on amplifying or healing their quirks it becomes a need and an addiction. All because of the drugs that he's developing, which gives him the dominance of who can use their quirk and qho can't. Target the villains, target the heroes, make life miserable, make them fight more, bring a whole range of chaos.

And really.. Why do villains need to talk so much? If they have the intention to kill they should just kill and not justify themselves to those vehemently stopping them. Same with heroes. They should buckle them down immediately instead of chatting with them, unless they were buying time. Pff.

Plus, even if Overhaul has now lost his hands, he still technically has his quirk right.. it's in his DNA. So he can still release it from his feet right? What's with the need for hands? It's so stupid if it's that dependent.

And it was so stupid that people were shocked that "blood and cells" were used in the bullets. Are you kidding me? Is this the first time that's happening in the world? If 80% of the world has quirks, large scale cellular experimentation should be happening already. The quirks can easily be the basis of capitalism, and the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry would be already exploiting it.

What kind of a dud of a world is this. All they have are heroes and villains? What's the root of their economy? Haaaah... Such a dud. Such a sad dud.

I hope the next season is actually good. They've fucked this show good, I hope it's just because they overworked everybody (actually, that's terrible!). They're going to need to put in the effort next time because this was all pretty fucked up and confused.

They find great songs...but the characters are dragging horribly. They never got back on track after S2. It is what it is, I hope they can find something to fuel this show and this story for one more season. Good luck.

Best episode of the whole season. Endeavor is a beast and his path to redemption/atonement is one of the most interesting parts of BNHA.
