THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wow, the first few minutes of this episode was very chilling. Legosi's carnivorous side was showing towards Haru but he holds back of course.

Of course the finale episode dedicated a ton of time to focus on the pair. It's kinda bittersweet to see them together. Legosi even got called up on stage during the festival. Bet he wasn't expecting that. As far as I'm concerned, this was another dark horse for me this season. 8/10.

> See you 2nd season.

I'm ready for more.

hmm, interesting way to end the show with waifu thirst wars. kinda sad not seeing the main plot of Tem's murder being resolved, but oh well. really hoped this to have more episodes, perhaps even a s2... see you s2 then

good show nevertheless, enjoyed it quite a bit

also, laughed at how they recreated the chase meme with Haru and Juno

Season 2 confirmed! I didnt theyd put that last scene in. Hyped!

That being said, i feel like the first half felt sprta rushed. I dunno. And looks like i was right in thinking that chapter 48 would be adapted as an epilogue thing.

Still, wouldve liked to hear them talk over it. Especially bill's thoughts on louis' dissapearance. But yeah. Am hyped to know that season 2 is confirmed!

Ok, I'm going to give a 5/10 just bc I liked Louis. The romance between Haru and Legoshi is the most weak aspect in this show. This anime has potential so I will give it another chance in the second season.

OMG a 2nd season! This was a nearly perfect finishing episode ... strong in the feels. Even though the Haru vs Juno rivalry feels kind of cliche, it's still nice to see both sides. Legoshi seems to have experienced the most character development in this season because he is MC xD.

Really love how the entire episode has built up the final scene by giving Legoshi x Haru a rollercoaster ride. But Haru's remark toward the end might be true - there is no actual guarantee that Legoshi won't eat Haru one day although he seems to be more aware of his feelings now.

Given the last scene and Legoshi's true "agency", I believe that 2nd best boy Jack might directly witness how Legoshi is evolving. It might be interesting to see how their childhood friendship will end up when Legoshi is "growing up".

... and was Legoshi trying to break the 4th wall when he was walking down the hallway to make a transition to the 2nd season announcement? Kinda felt like that xD

They say there's no such place... as Paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the earth, there's nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it's always the same road. It just goes on and on. But in spite of that, why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me. It says 'Search for Paradise!' "

I'm in love with Haru's ears

Beautiful ending

I especially love the sneakpeak at the end of the 'culprit' smiling creepily
It sets up 2nd season nicely and gives anime onlys more clues on who the killer is

Also, i don't know anything about makeup but that blush thingy on Juno's face looks weird lol

Still sad that they didn't include the louis and bill scene

Looking back now, this show is probably this season's best and contender for dark horse of the year. I'm not someone who reads between the lines and looks into a show's meanings and metaphors and whatnot, but I can tell that this show is unique and special.

If I summarized this show in a meme, it would be

I had some thoughts on Haru and her attitude, but those were wrong. Liked everything I saw, definitely starting tomorrow I'll pick up the manga (I believe the latest volumen going on sale was the fifth), and I'll wait for that second season.

That was a good ending BUT for anyone looking for some closure read chapter 48, which is the one this technically ends but most of it was cut coz of time.

Damn, this really went above and beyond all of my expectations. It's incredible how well this turned out from both a thematic and literary perspective, but also just from the perspective of a really good story.

A rare 10/10 for me; the more you read into the mechanics of the story and plot depiction, the stronger the themes, ideals and anxieties become. Can't wait for next season

The last episode was like a filler. Louis was completely forgotten by Haru and the strange love triangle without him was just confirmed. And Legoshi is indecisive as usual. What have they gained through some of those episodes?

Wow i wasn't expecting a 2nd season for this at all. I still kind of wish it went to Land of the Lustrous instead, but this is fine too. Beastars is one of my favourite manga and i'm happy it got such a good adaptation. I still have a few complaints, mainly about what was cut-out, but on it's own it's still a great anime worth anyone's time.

Absolutely fantastic show ! I didn't expect anything since it was a non-sequel but this anime truly mesmerized and amazed me each week. The universe itself is so well designed : I mean, the characters are animals but they do act like animals, especially with the carnivores/herbivores relations. Both the visual and the story were great, the developments of many characters appeared to be really interesting and captivating.

Yesterday I had a discussion with my cousin about the shows I watched this season and when he asked me "are there any good", I instantly replied there were some hidden and unexpected gems, directly refering to Beastars. Knowing a second season is coming really made a nice Christmas present.

Interesting concept with good world building. Also loved the variety in this series, they truly utilized a whole lot of possibilities, each episode was fascinating or exciting to watch and there's still a whole lot more to explore. Beastars also had easily my favorite character cast in terms of writing from this year. Fantastic series all around.

Don't think that I can wait for season two because I'm interested to see the new direction and what happened with Louis. So gonna continue with the manga, I guess it's better to read also the parts that were already adaptated?

This was a perfect finale to a super good show. Really loved the scene with Legosi and Haru at the end. Glad she'll be waiting for him to become stronger.

Also super happy about the second season announcement. Especially after the after-credits scene. I hope it'll be back soon.

I dont know how to feel about this anymore ahhh I'm frustrated. Legosi is a keeper for sure but Haru's feelings changing all of a sudden is a bit weird. It wasn't forgotten. The last part of the arc just focused the birth of the relationship between Legoshi and Haru.
Yes, Louis is missing since the Shishigumi part but since the anime ended with the confession, they had to delay his part. Also, if i'm not mistaken they cut something about him but i don't remember exactly what.

Beastars (2019)
Character driven psychological drama and romance. Groundbreaking use of CGI, stellar characters, immersive world, natural witty dialog, jazzy OST. Using animal instincts everybody and his dog (pun intended) is familiar with is a genius narrative technique. To me, anime of the year 2019 in so many aspects. Outstanding and innovative. (8/10)
